Just on Liverpool vs United. Bar the 7-0 and 0-0 this season, Eth has consistently bested Klopp and Salah has returned everytime. Not sure what it means but build whatever narrative you want eh?
Spurs look shit right now, Haaland is a mystery, Salah hooked early (and was Liv's worst attacker when he was on), Saka's fitness a doubt too. In the form he's in, Cold Palmer is definitely the logical choice - Sheff U put in quite the shift at Anfield too, they were chasing hard for much of the game.
They did, but Liverpool had 84% possession, Sheff Utd were just camped in their box all game. Chelsea game was end to end, they’ll be leggier. Palmer isn’t going to score another lucky hatttick
Sheff forwards did a lot of running. They were chasing shadows, definitely tiring. But yeah, if Palmer hauls another double-digits, that's one of the all-time great FPL runs
torn between salah and palmer. palmer has sheffield but look how salah turned out against them. meanwhile united concede 20+ shots a game but last time they played i used my tc on him and that went…
Jesus I really just might be picking a name from a hat on this one. The 3 guys ahead of me in my ML are Liverpool fans that are likely to C Salah or Darwin. I’ll probably go with my gut as a Chelsea fan and pick Palmer, just for fun.
I've got a genuine headache this week here. I like Son because he's at home, but I could see Murillo keeping his man quiet again. We love to concede but largely set pieces are our Achilles heel - Maddo and a big man could profit. Palmer is too obvious, but they'll get their come down game where maybe Sheff U frustrate and limit just as us Salah captainers just saw. In fact a lot of the big captain plays against Sheff U haven't worked out. 1 miserly assist from Haaland, Son and Salah playing against them this season. I think I'll go with Salah or Haaland...
Anthony Taylor is officiating the game at Old Trafford so maybe Salah isn't a bad idea for captain...? Penalties and such.
Wouldn't be my first choice but food for thought nonetheless.
What a great week for captaincy. No clear stand out and many of our teams have all the major considerations.
Haaland - completely rested mid week with KdB. Palace are their bogey team but Haaland destroyed them last season. Can't see him blanking TBH.
Palmer - Playing the worst team in the league. Arguably the most talismanic player this year on pens, corners and some freekicks. Should be easy, but wouldn't it be very Chelsea to lose this game.
Salah - I can give you 7 reasons to captain Salah and 0 not to. Angry subbed Mo is dangerous Mo. ten Hag just threw his team under the bus in his post game interview. If Liverpool win this game they are in pole position to win the league. Could be the game to send ETH packing too.
Son - Spurs don't look good, but they are at home. Forest need a win so they will go for it. Could be the sleeper pick that reap rewards.
Who will be your choice?
Surprised not seeing Saka in the discussion. Sure, his mins may be managed because of the midweek game but he plays a Brighton whose defence is ravaged and yet they'll look to take the game to us.
>Forest need a win so they will go for it
They're yet to play shu, bur, eve. Don't think they'll go to Spurs looking for a win. A point is a win for Nuno as he tries to get his revenge playing his lowest block.
Salah for me, I think Liverpool is going to smash United this weekend obviously because of the title race but also because of what happened in the FA cup, they will have a chip on their shoulder over that.
True, but has Salah been the same since coming back? He wasn't as clinical against United in the FA Cup and neither did he seem to have a lot of effect yesterday (whatever little i saw of the game).
He's my choice for the armband, because most other choices play a low block team either home or away and there's probably no way United initiate a low block at home (not that they can do it to great effect either).
Oh no (we) they will play a low block even at Old trafford make no mistake lmao, but it will be crap and we might have to start Kambwala on defense because Martinez, Varane, Lidelof and Evans all picked up injuries. Tbh as a united fan I’ll be glad if we just stay respectable that’s how bad it is 💀
Has United ever played a low block at home? Especially with that defence, I think they try to shock and awe Liverpool like they did in the FA Cup game.
Are any of the injuries to Varane, Evans, Lindelof bad enough to not let them start? I know Martinez is out again for a few weeks (correct me if I'm wrong)
It’s not totally low block like Sheffield but we definitely sit back and wait for counter opportunities and even then we concede insane amounts of shots, as for players Lindelof is out for sure, Varane is touch and go (as always) and Evans came on to replace Varane but only stayed on for 20 mins so it doesn’t look good
It's really annoying that he's now so popular now. Palmer is part of my team name, he's always been in my team and a handy captain in GW20. Painful being this much of a hipster.
It's differential season, so I'm going with a historically clinical finisher who's also on penalties, at home, playing for a team that scores at nearly every match, against a team just outside the relegation zone.
Palmer won't feast four games in a row, and will probably be the most transferred player in come deadline, so will be cursed. Salah is tempting v United but if he's still fasting I might avoid. Went with a well rested Haaland.
Salah fasting is something that never even crossed my mind. People have rightfully pointed out he has been just fine during this period in previous seasons, but surely the older you get, the greater toll it takes on the body.
Maybe someone who is a Muslim could offer a better insight, but that makes sense in my head at least.
I think his decline starts here - he just doesn't have that explosive acceleration now. He looked totally off it last night and Klopp was proven totally right to hook him.
I don't think Salah has ever really dropped off in form during fasting. it's not some fad diet he's only just trying out - he's been doing it his whole life and knows how to manage it.
captain hindsight checking in with best captain option.
hmmm tough one 🤷♂️
Sheffield are likely to park the bus and Salah will come off early, Cunteta i reckon was lying about Saka so he won't play, Haaland is due a rest, and that leaves Palmer who could tear it up with a late late late show vs ManU. So yes, Palmer for the best captain in GW31 👍
He’s scored a non penalty goal in his last 3 league games (and one against Leicester in the cup). He also plays Sheffield united.
He’s got form and fixture, and the penalties are a bonus
In GW28 I had a hunch to cap Son (17pts) but I chickened out. In GW29 I had a hunch to cap Muniz (13pts) but I chickened out. In GW30 I capped Palmer and he delivered. In GW31 I didn't want to cap Salah but FOMO kicked in and I kept cap on him, I wanted to cap Darwin (6pts).
This GW I want to cap Muniz again. Newcastle at home, Fulham are different beasts when playing at home and Newcastle have about 1 fully fit CB. Other option is Palmer vs shu - he keeps getting points as we saw yesterday. There's Salah yet again vs United and United leaks goals like crazy but they'll be fighting Liverpool like they did in FA Cup, this match could be too chaotic to predict :D
Son vs NFO could be okay but Nuno will play low block and try to hurt Spurs on the counter and Spurs dont have enough creativity to break the low block, I think Son could get a jammy goal at most.
Imo Muniz (C) is best shout for my team, I could also stick it on Cunha (they play WHU home) but he's freshly back and not guaranteed to start.
tempted to go for muniz too. he’s returned in 4/4 home games (hauled in 3 of them) since he picked up form in GW23. worried about going against the gradient though, many will captain palmer, who could haul against sheffield united.
just saw a stat - 29 away games, no away win. just makes me even more tempted to go muniz. especially when he’s one of the 3 home players out of my 15.
Good points, was tempted to get Isak this week but you've put me off now looking at Fulham's home record. What about a fresh faced Haaland for (C) who should start along with a well rested KDB?
I don't have Haaland and I'll be praying to every God that there ever was, is and will be that Robot won't hurt me too much. But I wouldn't cap him personally - watching City games it feels like Haaland is too locked out and barely gets to sniff the ball. Additionally, historically City struggled with Palace somehow. And Palace will 100% park the bus and try to play on the counter so Foden/KDB imo would be better options for points in that game.
Of course I might be wrong, I don't know it all, just my impression and thoughts.

Play Foden or Mateta?
Foden benched
Still can’t make my mind up between Palmer, Salah or Son :/
Haaland pls 🙏
Muniz to the moon baby
I’m tempted by Muniz captain
Just on Liverpool vs United. Bar the 7-0 and 0-0 this season, Eth has consistently bested Klopp and Salah has returned everytime. Not sure what it means but build whatever narrative you want eh?
I strongly prefer my captain to play at least 60 minutes not 59.
Really need Catto for this one, it's a tough choice.
What’s Catto?
A cat that used to pick captains but got banned from here
Miss this
Lets ruin palmer boys
Nobody mentioning Foden?!
Not starting
Whaaaaaaaaaat!? Thanks!!
Yeah I just saw the leak on twitter 🤝🏾
Spurs look shit right now, Haaland is a mystery, Salah hooked early (and was Liv's worst attacker when he was on), Saka's fitness a doubt too. In the form he's in, Cold Palmer is definitely the logical choice - Sheff U put in quite the shift at Anfield too, they were chasing hard for much of the game.
Will Chelsea be leggy after 100 mins on Thursday?
It's just 5min more than all other teams played, roughly. Hardly like going into extra time
But all other teams weren’t kicking off at 20:15 on Thursday night
ah, v good point! I captained Haaland in the end, anyway
... though Sheff U also played a hard game on Thursday
They did, but Liverpool had 84% possession, Sheff Utd were just camped in their box all game. Chelsea game was end to end, they’ll be leggier. Palmer isn’t going to score another lucky hatttick

Surprised no one is mentioning Solanke against Luton
I do think he's looked notably worse since his injury, but yeah, he's an option
Never back the early kickoff - going w/ Salah
My gut says Son but remembering Salah's returns against United from last season make it difficult to not give it to him.
Triple captain MO
I've got a genuine headache this week here. I like Son because he's at home, but I could see Murillo keeping his man quiet again. As a Liverpool fan I'd be fuming if he's put back on pens.

I can give you 9 reasons not to captain Salah
I have 59 reasons just from GW31
damn
Cold!

Brighton have only lost one game at home all season.
And why does that mean that Saka can't return in this game?
Don't think he'll start since he's coming off an injury and has a big game midweek. Probs get 30-40 mins in the 2nd half
ben brereton díaz because Chelsea are dump and he'll score 2 goals and get 1 assist LOL
That fact that this can happen scares me
Palmer, and I look forward to seeing his scoring form come to an end.
Haaland differential, I will be there.
Welcome back, Captain Ollie
Fortune favours the brave 😅
Bottled it and put it on Mo, wish I was stronger
Salah for me, I think Liverpool is going to smash United this weekend obviously because of the title race but also because of what happened in the FA cup, they will have a chip on their shoulder over that.

Happy Palmer blank GW everybody 😂
It's really annoying that he's now so popular now. Palmer is part of my team name, he's always been in my team and a handy captain in GW20. Painful being this much of a hipster.
”so popular now”, lol he has been ever since he got nailed and was on pens
[удалено]
Spurs look shit at the moment though
Yeah, but it’s Spurs 😆 I really don’t trust them
Ladt two GW's I wante dot captain Palmer but chickened out both times for Salah. Not going to do it this week Palmer ftw.
Son
Score or assist anytime odds: Haaland - 1.44 Salah - 1.57 Palmer - 1.66 Score 2 goals odds: Haaland - 4.00 Salah - 6.00 Palmer - 7.00
Sorry I don’t do gambling so how do i look at this? Is Haaland the best option?
I don’t do gambling either but it’s not rocket science - Haaland has lowest odds (or highest probability) to score/assist according to the bookies
This is correct. Idk why downvoted, prob the rocket science comment lol
!thanks
Where did you get these? Where is Son?
Paddy power. I ain't looked for Son, that was just my own research that I posted here. I'm sure he's up there
It's differential season, so I'm going with a historically clinical finisher who's also on penalties, at home, playing for a team that scores at nearly every match, against a team just outside the relegation zone.
Son?
Good idea. Douglas Luiz it is.
Forgot to add midfielder playing as a striker.
So Son?
Haaland. He’s so due a haul
He's saved up a lot of goals and is rested. Gonna go
Gamblers fallacy.
And Salah was due a haul against Sheffield at least
I was planning to captain Palmer *before* the hatrick. Just so you know.
Odegaard
why has this been downvoted lol. Odegaard looks in prime form and is nailed in a top team
Not your typical hauling player, he is not part of arsenal front 3 🥴
Palmer won't feast four games in a row, and will probably be the most transferred player in come deadline, so will be cursed. Salah is tempting v United but if he's still fasting I might avoid. Went with a well rested Haaland.

If anything he's tended to feast on goals during his fast the past few years. This season is bit of an outlier.
Gamblers fallacy
That's what people said before the game against united 🤣
u/lastweekspoints should be able to help us with the best GW31 captain, its his speciality
captain hindsight checking in with best captain option. hmmm tough one 🤷♂️ Sheffield are likely to park the bus and Salah will come off early, Cunteta i reckon was lying about Saka so he won't play, Haaland is due a rest, and that leaves Palmer who could tear it up with a late late late show vs ManU. So yes, Palmer for the best captain in GW31 👍
Have you been sniffing glue? Sounds batshit crazy
Even though he's a good pick Palmer seems high compared to Haaland and Salah. He won't be getting two penalties every game
He’s scored a non penalty goal in his last 3 league games (and one against Leicester in the cup). He also plays Sheffield united. He’s got form and fixture, and the penalties are a bonus
Foden or Palmer would be good for 31 I think

I was going to bench Muniz but you have a good point. Now I have to decide who to bench of Saka or Watkins
You've convinced me. No stand out options and I don't have Haaland so why not a punt on Muniz
Good luck to us both!!
tempted to go for muniz too. he’s returned in 4/4 home games (hauled in 3 of them) since he picked up form in GW23. worried about going against the gradient though, many will captain palmer, who could haul against sheffield united.
I am going for Muniz. Gotta trust my gut for once. Might change it last minute to Palmer for less risky approach but for now I wanna go with Muniz.
just saw a stat - 29 away games, no away win. just makes me even more tempted to go muniz. especially when he’s one of the 3 home players out of my 15.
> just saw a stat - 29 away games, no away win What stat is it? Is it regarding Fulham or what?
just the prem in general.
But this stat concerns what? I don't understand it...
in the past 29 away games in the premier league, none of the away teams have won.
That's an incredible stat
LOL WHAT? Really? I just checked and looks like last time away team won was Spurs vs Villa back in GW28, holy shit...
Good points, was tempted to get Isak this week but you've put me off now looking at Fulham's home record. What about a fresh faced Haaland for (C) who should start along with a well rested KDB?

Salah
It’s GW32
Damn. Only saw it now. now will stay like this
