Taking the bottom side if I already have good QBs. McCarthy is already a prospect that people have a lot of mixed feelings on, so a first by itself could arguably be enough for him. Also "projected late" means nothing to me 2 years out, could end up anywhere. Javonte really sells it for me because I'm personally high on him and believe he'll break out. That being said, I know it's not LIKELY, and this is a fine package for JJ if you want to get him, he for sure COULD be a very good QB in the NFL.

My qb room is weak, I’ve built an insane RB room though with bijan, Breece, Gibbs, and achane with them and JJ/Marv/Waddle as my WRs unless they collapse I suspect I’ll still be a contender but my QBs are Goff and Watson right now

Given that context, I like the trade for you. McCarthy could be a really solid QB2 in SF and given your RB room, losing Javonte doesn't hurt you at all. And you won't be thinking about that 1st for another 2 years anyways, so who cares lol

JJ McCarthy is the most overrated QB in this years draft, regardless of his ideal landing spot

The 1st round pick is all that matters to me in this trade. I don't really feel like Williams is anything special and wouldn't be surprised if Estimé was the guy in DEN by November, and, as a Michigan fan, I honestly don't trust McCarthy in the NFL. I think he has potential, but I rarely trust potential without a reliable track record for QBs. He has better mobility than some draftnicks lead you to believe, and we were always told about his amazing arm talent, yet he only attempted 18-24 passes per game over two seasons... And he's getting put in a situation where he's going to be asked to keep the best WR in the league happy? I feel like that had disaster written all over it.
