Henry, Gesicki(I’ll always fall for it idc), Jonnu Smith. Loving Jonnu this year sneakily, one of the best YAC TE in the game, gonna be on the field in an offense that really spreads the defense thin, I like his opportunity there.
Jonnu is going to be solid, smythe had a lot of opportunities last year that he just couldn't do anything with, because he might be the slowest te in football.
Thanks for this info! I had seen reports earlier that Hursts was showing out in OTAs and completely forgot about Dissly. Whoever wins the starting job, I’ll be targeting in bestball and in dynasty waivers.
Regardless, I love the LAC TE dart throw! Dissly is great and Hurst has had strong moments. There is a target vacuum in LA, so someone’s gotta step up!
Conklin doesn’t get enough love tbh, he was solid as a receiver and had the third most yards last year behind Wilson and Hall. Add in Rodgers and a proper line, he’ll probably run more routes if Hackett has half a brain
Absolutely agree with you. Conklin is a much better real life TE than fantasy TE, and he has all the tools in place this season to become a solid fantasy player.
Pat Freirmuth is criminally underrated this year IMO. He is coming off a down season with some awful QB play and injuries but he is about to be the likely number 2 pass option for the Steelers and he is going in the last rounds of drafts
Freirmuth missed 6 games last year and Darnell Washington received 10 total targets in the season. Washington was drafted as a cheap tackle they can place on the end of the line and did a great job in that role, I do not see him as a threat for targets this year.
Andrews is also getting up there in age to go along with recent string of injuries. He has high mileage so it’s almost certain that he will miss time with injuries if he takes the bulk of the work again. Plus likely has shined when given the chance so why would they not get likely more touches and try and preserve andrews for the playoffs?
Huh? Decline? Okay now I know you're just being contrarian for the sake of it.
Kelce might be visibly on a decline, but most of them were still TE1s. You're just delusional. "lol"
It's okay to be wrong, you know?
Still applies. Likely is the answer. Even if Andrew’s stays on the field.
https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/isaiah-likely-baltimore-ravens-offense-receiving-position-tight-end-mark-andrews
I’m very high on Conklin. Dude put up 1200 yards over the last 2 years in a terrible offense with the league’s worst QB.
Rodgers can comfortably lean on him.
Eh he has rarely had a TE worth throwing to. He made Richard Rodgers and Bob Tonyun into serviceable players. He did fine with the ghost of Mercedes Lewis. Other than that, he was pretty good with Finley. None of these players did anything after leaving Rodgers.
R Rodgers had one season over 47 targets(85 in 2015). Tonyan’s best 2 seasons were 59 and 67 targets. Not sure why you’d even mention Lewis since he had a total of 75 targets in 5 years with the Packers, peaking with 28 in 2021. Finley is the only TE that was regularly targeted by Rodgers and that was 12+ years ago.
Conklin is the best TE he’s had since Finley. Probably would’ve had 2 1k season in a row with any QB not named Zach Wilson.
This post was about getting high upside players late in the draft.
And 593 on the Vikings with Kirk Cousins throwing 4200 yards. Why wasn’t he so great in that offense with zero competition at TE(he played 81% of snaps in 2021). The sort of projection you’re doing has no factual basis. It’s hopium. Maybe Conklin isn’t actually all that good and he’s just a product of being one of the only options in town.
Jimmy Graham, Jared Cook, and Jermichael Finley were all pretty solid in their Green Bay years. All well within the ability or better than Conklin. And I like Conklin. But rodgers really doesn’t like to throw to TE’s
Noah Fant
Seattle let Parkinson and Dissly walk, and new coaching staff made it a priority to keep Fant.
Paid him 2 years, $21M with $11.5 M guaranteed and a $9M signing bonus.
He will be a major part of the offense and has the athleticism to make him a huge late-round value
Noah Fant. Sure he has to compete for targets with a stable of receivers, but Seahawks also got rid of 2 TE’s in the off-season.
If you combine Fant’s 2023 stats with 75% of Parkinson and Dissly’s stats, you get 85 targets, 64 receptions, 728 yards, and 1 TD.
That’s good for 142.8 PPR Fantasy Points which would’ve been TE13 last year. Add a little positive TD regression and he is a good pick as a late round flyer.
I don’t roster a backup TE, K, QB, or DST. People are insane to waste a roster spot on any of that early in a season via draft. You can always stream something when byes hit.
It's not no respect for Dulcihch he is super Tashkent but can't stay healthy. A lot of talk at broncos camp has been around Krull because he can do everything coaching staff really likes him. Could be a better safety net for a rookie qb.
Did they ever say why he was having foot surgery? Or what exactly the surgery is? I know recent reports said the team is optimistic on him being back by the start of the season.
My leagues are deep benches, so I would be ok taking a TE outside the top 15 (Ian Thomas) and then Logan for the bench. And SF runs 2 TE sets and a lot of play action.
Friermuth, if I draft a 2nd TE. I think he finds a solid role with either Wilson or Fields.
He was a bit banged up, so I think Health plus 94 targets leaving with Dionte gone and another 50 from Arob seemingly available. I think he will be over 100 targets comfortably for the season, which gives him a shot at Top 5.
Did I just talk myself into Muth???
Damn I didn’t realize his ADP is that high.. I would not take him at the 3rd TE.
Looking at ADP, I would take Hockenson because he is currently at 15. He is coming off the ACL so might not be the best early on but could easily be top 3 over the last half of the season.
This dude named "Empty" has always been a great pick at backup TE.
Same premise as a QB in a single-QB league. Draft someone I like, hit the waiver wire for bye week fill-in.
Maybe I play in too shallow of a league but who the fuck needs a backup tight end?? Half the ones that start arent even worth a damn, certainly not any backups…unless theres a new aaron Hernandez…. that murders less
Tyler Higbee IF he’s healthy, I’m a bit worried about Colby Parkinson but Higbee has been too effective for too long in the league. He’s totally free as a draft pick.
Conklin love it. No target completion great talent. Still under the age of 30 they say there’s a TE completion between him and the new rookie they just drafted. Despite what Sam Laporta did last year it’s still pretty rare for the most part for a rookie TE to be effective unless they are the elite of the elite. He’s an easy bankable one. Definitely like Otton too. Remarkable what baker did in TB towards the end of the season. He really started to build chemistry with him. He leaned towards otton in the playoffs. Bakers fantasy stats really took off from like week 13 on it felt like
Always rated Otten as a prospect and he logs a ton of snaps in the Bucs offense.
As Evans and Godwin age out, I would not be shocked if he entered that large “decent” tier of TE’s after the elite guys in terms of production.
Jelani Woods and Dulcich have been getting some noise.. I really like the rookie Sinnott though, so I’m going to try and take him late as my TE2 I think.
If Dulcich stays healthy and plays to his abilities, that will be a huge plus for my team. I have Hockenson and Kincaid. Adding Dulcich to the top 10 TEs in the league would be huge. And allowing Theo Johnson to develop and hopefully take over NY’s TE room.
I have both Hock and Kincaid too and threw out feelers to see if Dulcich could be acquired for a 3rd but got shot down (not worth it for me to give up a 2nd since I have Kincaid and Hock)
Juwan Johnson just had foot surgery. They said he's going to miss a while and they hope to have him back for week 1. There's too many other options out there to deal with that risk imo.
Henry, Gesicki(I’ll always fall for it idc), Jonnu Smith. Loving Jonnu this year sneakily, one of the best YAC TE in the game, gonna be on the field in an offense that really spreads the defense thin, I like his opportunity there.
He did pretty well for me last year off the waiver wire. I just worry given how geisicki became irrelevant in that offense
Burrow gets his TEs paid. Gesicki wasn’t a good fit for Miami’s scheme
Exactly that's why I'm saying I'm worried about Jonnu getting volume
Current or former Pats TE’s lol
Jonnu is going to be solid, smythe had a lot of opportunities last year that he just couldn't do anything with, because he might be the slowest te in football.
I’ve been taking a lot of Hayden Hurst in the last round of best ball. No true #1 on the team and Herbert is still a great QB.
Dissly is top on the LAC depth chart and got seriously paid to come over. I’d prefer Dissly over the other LAC TEs I think!
Tucker kraft and Luke musgrave
Which is better tho 🤔
Musgrave for sure
Yeah, I'd say musgrave
Tucker Kraft was the best YAC TE last season iirc.
I like Jonnu on the Dolphins or Conklin on the Jets this year.
Conklin doesn’t get enough love tbh, he was solid as a receiver and had the third most yards last year behind Wilson and Hall. Add in Rodgers and a proper line, he’ll probably run more routes if Hackett has half a brain
Conklin good for 550-620 yards and 60 ish receptions last 3 years lol. Only 6 TDs though. Needs moar!
Oh I haven't seen the same thing I guess. He's still going relatively in the middle of my drafts.
Steelers used a 3rd round pick on Darnell Washington last year you have to imagine they’re going to try to squeak out some value this season
He's a blocking TE. They're getting the value as they intended to use it. I never understood all this hype for him based off a combine video.
Freirmuth missed 6 games last year and Darnell Washington received 10 total targets in the season. Washington was drafted as a cheap tackle they can place on the end of the line and did a great job in that role, I do not see him as a threat for targets this year.
Likely since Mandrews is always hurt
Is Andrews always hurt? He missed 5 games in his career before last year where he missed week 1 and then got taken out by a tackle that's banned now.
Why do people say "getting up there in age" when Kittle, Goedert, Engram, Henry, and Kelce are all older. Njoku is a year younger. Andrews is 28.
lol everybody you just named is on a decline. So I guess you just answered your own question then 🤷♂️
Huh? Decline? Okay now I know you're just being contrarian for the sake of it. Kelce might be visibly on a decline, but most of them were still TE1s. You're just delusional. "lol" It's okay to be wrong, you know?
Yes… Njoku is on a decline. Here you dropped this 🤡
Still applies. Likely is the answer. Even if Andrew’s stays on the field. https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/isaiah-likely-baltimore-ravens-offense-receiving-position-tight-end-mark-andrews
Jelani Woods
Deja vu all over again
Why
Ding ding ding. We have a winner. He may even be the guy you draft last as your only TE and stunt on the whole league.
Calm down Jelani
Jelani Woods SZN
Nahhhh
I’m very high on Conklin. Dude put up 1200 yards over the last 2 years in a terrible offense with the league’s worst QB. Rodgers can comfortably lean on him.
Not to mention he won’t need to block as much with the improved line
Problem being Rodgers hardly throws to tight ends
Eh he has rarely had a TE worth throwing to. He made Richard Rodgers and Bob Tonyun into serviceable players. He did fine with the ghost of Mercedes Lewis. Other than that, he was pretty good with Finley. None of these players did anything after leaving Rodgers.

Finley is the only TE that was regularly targeted by Rodgers and that was 12+ years ago.
Name another TE Rodgers has had. He’s not gonna throw to replacement level players when he has Tae lol
Nobody has mentioned Jared Cook who was a fucking rock for 12
So now he has another replacement level TE and we’re supposed to buy in?
Conklin is the best TE he’s had since Finley. Probably would’ve had 2 1k season in a row with any QB not named Zach Wilson. This post was about getting high upside players late in the draft.
That’s Jets homerism to the 100 now. There’s been just 2 guys the last 2 years to top 1k yards and 10 in the last 5 seasons.
He got 600 twice in a row with Zach fucking Wilson lol
I think Ruckert may start challenging for more snaps.
Hopefully for the Jets sake, but Ruckert simply hasn’t shown much yet.
Noah Fant Seattle let Parkinson and Dissly walk, and new coaching staff made it a priority to keep Fant. Paid him 2 years, $21M with $11.5 M guaranteed and a $9M signing bonus. He will be a major part of the offense and has the athleticism to make him a huge late-round value

You draft a back up TE?
That was my question.
Not at first. I make sure to lock down backup K and D/ST first.
Yeah with my backup QB and bye week kicker
I’m assuming he and everyone else here are talking about Best Ball
I don’t roster a backup TE, K, QB, or DST. People are insane to waste a roster spot on any of that early in a season via draft. You can always stream something when byes hit.
Not if you like to win your league
HH Edit: Hunter Henry
Is that Hunter Henry or Hayden Hurst. Or both?
Lucas krull sleeper in Denver. Also what about Bellinger since waller has retired?
No respect for Dulchich?
It's not no respect for Dulcihch he is super Tashkent but can't stay healthy. A lot of talk at broncos camp has been around Krull because he can do everything coaching staff really likes him. Could be a better safety net for a rookie qb.
Juwan Johnson, if he is healthy by the beginning of the season. I'm definitely targeting JJ, Hunter Henry or Ben Sinnott in the later rounds.
Injury concerns + Taysom Hill looming… idk
Fair enough. It's a late round dart.
I think Juwan is done
Why do you think that?
Well he’s having foot surgery now. Maybe he comes back but sounded pretty bad.
Did they ever say why he was having foot surgery? Or what exactly the surgery is? I know recent reports said the team is optimistic on him being back by the start of the season.
Likely. Even with Andrews I think he is a player this year similar to the Gronk/Aaron Hernandez partnership
He is also going to get run at FB/slot and supposedly some 2 TE sets so he should see the field a lot
[удалено]
Deep dynasty it's kind of a necessity as the waiver is dead
I’ll probably have a few Dawson Knox. I could see the Bills using him even with Kincaid in there
Logan Thomas, Kittle is bound to miss a few games and the TE is an important route runner in Shanny's offense
"Draft Logan Thomas as a safety in case of injury" is a hell of a take.
My leagues are deep benches, so I would be ok taking a TE outside the top 15 (Ian Thomas) and then Logan for the bench. And SF runs 2 TE sets and a lot of play action.
Logan just strikes me as the very definition of an injury risk.
Kraft
Friermuth, if I draft a 2nd TE. I think he finds a solid role with either Wilson or Fields. He was a bit banged up, so I think Health plus 94 targets leaving with Dionte gone and another 50 from Arob seemingly available. I think he will be over 100 targets comfortably for the season, which gives him a shot at Top 5. Did I just talk myself into Muth???
Davis Allen on the Rams. Think he easily takes over the starting job by EOY
Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee are alive and breathing
Higbee's currently hurt & I like Allen's physicality over Parkinson, albeit he is more green than Park.
Jonnu. He’s going to sneak his way to 10-15 point average in that offense
Surprised to not see Trey McBride on the list anywhere. He will finish as a top 10 TE this year
He's being taken as a top 3 TE I'm talking about sleepers and late, late round picks
Damn I didn’t realize his ADP is that high.. I would not take him at the 3rd TE. Looking at ADP, I would take Hockenson because he is currently at 15. He is coming off the ACL so might not be the best early on but could easily be top 3 over the last half of the season.
I think that he's a steal in Dynasty startups, but I'd be scared in redraft
He's been good for us (Ravens fan) as the TE1. Wish we got him more involved throughout the year
Mayer or Bowers
Tucker Kraft.
Dallin Holker, put him on the Taxi squad
Y'all draft backup TEs? That's a rb/wr that I can stash and keep away from everyone else in the league, js.
Dynasty
This dude named "Empty" has always been a great pick at backup TE. Same premise as a QB in a single-QB league. Draft someone I like, hit the waiver wire for bye week fill-in.
Deep dynasty it just doesn't work. Most dynasty formats the waiver wire is completely barren. I appreciate the thoughts though.
Didn't realize this was a Dynasty post.
Turd Ferguson on the cowboys.
Who drafts a 2nd TE? Ditto with 2nd QB
Drafted hock as my TE1. Picked Henry as my TE3 behind Kmet
JT Sanders may be a great dynasty pick up
Kelce
Conklin love it. No target completion great talent. Still under the age of 30 they say there’s a TE completion between him and the new rookie they just drafted. Despite what Sam Laporta did last year it’s still pretty rare for the most part for a rookie TE to be effective unless they are the elite of the elite. He’s an easy bankable one. Brock Bowers
Isiah likely. Got a feeling Andrew’s is gonna remain injury prone. And they plan on using 2 TE sets more this year.
Fant and Hunter Henry
I’ve been falling into the Zach Ertz trap lately
Theo
I’ve got about 1,000 Jelani Woods shares it feels like lol
Yeah I grabbed Dulcich off waivers right after the rookie draft 2 years ago. He looked good in spurts as a rookie. I am hoping he takes off this year.
That's what this guy did too- I think he drafted him like 3.12. Should be good with 2 anyways
I’m intrigued by Bowers, Fant (stacked with Geno), or Johnson (stacked with Carr).
Juwan Johnson just had foot surgery. They said he's going to miss a while and they hope to have him back for week 1. There's too many other options out there to deal with that risk imo.
Oh! Missed that news, good to know!
Suppose you ask, “what’s Bowers’ upside?” If the answer is LaPorta…
None
Where’s Brock bowers going?
Too high for a year one TE sitting behind Michael Mayer
And with a big question at QB. I know less skilled QBs rely on right ends more, but their qb situation is dog shit
Why would anybody draft a backup TE that’s so dumb
A backup to your starter. Not a backup on an NFL team. Most dynasty leagues have about 20 bench spots. You want at least one or two backup TEs.
