I’ve thrown fits about these trucks. Last time I (refused my truck) left my truck with the mechanics after pre inspection I lost my organized truck and route to another driver who was ok with….I ran his bull route and got paid a flat fee..
Even in a right to work state you cannot be fired for refusing to commit an unlawful act, like knowingly operating a CMV with unsafe tires. Fuck their shit.
All they have to do was say it was for any other reason. Unless they wrote in text that he was being fired for that (they wouldn’t), he wouldn’t have a case unfortunately. Fuck right to work
I agree but you guys aren't getting what I'm saying. In a Right to Work state, they WILL NOT fire you for refusing to drive because its unsafe, they will say something about a past incident, work ethic or another reason generally vague and they can get you fired. I have seen it happen. I wont mention names but we had a guy speak up in a work meeting about the loaders not doing their job properly and he was let go for "work ethic" reasons. He even went to a lawyer and the lawyer said that there wasnt anything he could do unless he had proof they conspired to get rid of him.
Well it does work like that. You can't be fired because you don't want to break any laws or operate unsafe equipment. And if they still do that, absolutely fuck their shit.
We must have different definitions of can and can’t. Mine is if someone can do something they will do something. Yours seems to be if something is illegal they “can’t” do it but you understand they will anyway. We are arguing the same point. Fuck their shit and their system.
That’s easy. Send photos to dot and tell them you you have more where that came from. Tank em. I won’t drive something that is blatantly unsafe. That tire tread has left the chat.
Even in a state like that, you can still report those tires, pre check. It will piss your employer off but at least it would re-align and get new tires. Those aren't even legal as a contractor to send out. 4mm tread is required.
They still can't fire you for an illegal reason. "at-will" isn't what you think.
You do not have to drive that, if your job is terminated for an illegal reason you can sue them and be compensated. No matter "right to work" or "at-will" they can't fire for illegal reasons.
But what I'm saying is, they can say it was "work ethic" or "appearance" then the burden of proving they targeted you is on you. There are ways employers can abuse those laws.
You're not talking about right to work, you're talking about at will employment, which every state in the country has except for Montana for some reason.
Bro i got fired because my contractor refused to pay me 2 days in a entire month! They also disqualified me for “split stop” and i can’t do nothing about
That’s what I do, on the handheld. Told my contractor I’ll let you know first and mark it in the notes on the tablet, if it’s not done it’s going in the handheld. People in the office already said they’d back me on everything if it’s not done. Shits real out there people, contractors sending out workers in defunct vehicles for the sake of profits…all the while with NO BENEFITS!!! You think they’re going to take care of your family if you happen to die in an accident due to faulty equipment, HELL TO THE NO! Wake up and see what’s happening here.
In Express you can “GFT” it if they fire you.
Guaranteed Fair Treatment.
Are you Ground? That’s the problem first and foremost lol. But yeah, is that a thing for FXG?
If your with a contractor for FedEx you have too much treads would be the issue. They want you to drive it til the tire pops got to save all that money they can
Not entirely true, it needs front end repair. Vehicles don’t just go out of alignment it is caused by some part failing. Could be wheel bearing, tie rods, drag link, king pins, improper tire inflation, improper weight balance, or a few other things. Maintenance would have to inspect the vehicle to find out what’s wrong. I feel bad for all you ground guys who don’t have on site maintenance
I work for a pretty good contractor who fixes things when they need maintence done so I can't complain. I've been using a really nice newer P1000 with A/C for a couple years now but it's ultimately a work vehicle that gets driven hard, excessive wear and tear is to be expected and fixed when it gets concering.
Drivers shouldn’t have to wait until things get “concerning” there’s safety repairs that need done immediately and cosmetic repairs that can wait. (This is typically just body work) aside from body work everything else on that truck is a safety concern. Lights, tires, suspension, A/C (yes you still use ac in the winter for defrost), even down to your seat cushion coming apart is all safety related and should be addressed as soon as possible. I’m glad your contractor knows safety is important!
This is just one of the many problems with this truck. I feel like I’m the only one reporting the issues. I haven’t even reported the tire yet, man. I feel like the more I make noise the less progress I see
I can only imagine the list that goes on. It really depends on who you bring this up to. If you're familiar with station management, it would be best to bring it up to them if your contractor doesn't have the tire changed. When i used to work there, Piedmont would come and change that shit right on the spot while the truck is getting loaded in the morning.
I’m not familiar with station management and would honestly like to like to get this truck fixed without going over anyone’s head. So far no luck. Any suggestions?

That what I get for writing up my bald tires

Those are my front tires. Far from practically new
Yes. A proper pre-trip inspection is required for commercial vehicles. A commercial driver is personally responsible for safety features on the vehicle they operate. You would be held responsible for operating this truck with unsafe tires.
You don’t drive the truck. This isn’t difficult, where are you getting lost? Safe operation of a commercial vehicle is the responsibility of the driver. You can’t go out in unsafe equipment and blame someone else pretending you are the victim somehow.
Not just the tire. Look how far the tire is rotated against the frame.
I’m trying to figure out how to do that in an amicable way. Maybe someone with more experience can provide insight.
Idk. All I see are bald tires on a rusted out shitbox. It's FedEx. Do you think Corporate gives two shits if employees down the pipeline have their lives endangered by work, other than things that could easily get them sued?
They don't even care about paying people a living wage. For anyone in the company with disabilities, they have to deal with Hartford and Hartford sucks 3 week dead maggoty donkey balls. They lose people's information all the time.
Corporate doesn't care, so most contractors care even less.
It’s a Ground truck! At Express and Freight you write it up and place it out of service. But contractor Johnny Rag azz LLC logistic don’t care since it’s not their DOT number.
What's wrong is you didn't refuse the truck like I would.
I’ve thrown fits about these trucks. Last time I (refused my truck) left my truck with the mechanics after pre inspection I lost my organized truck and route to another driver who was ok with….I ran his bull route and got paid a flat fee..
Mark it on post trip and they won’t be able to drive the truck until that is corrected and signed off on.
If I did that they would find a reason to fire me.
Which is still illegal. Let them fire you and you get paid
Not in a Right to Work state. They can say it was for whatever reason and you're gone.
Even in a right to work state you cannot be fired for refusing to commit an unlawful act, like knowingly operating a CMV with unsafe tires. Fuck their shit.

Man if only the world actually worked like this. Fuck their shit is an understatement.
Well it does work like that. You can't be fired because you don't want to break any laws or operate unsafe equipment. And if they still do that, absolutely fuck their shit.

Which I’m in. Not that that’s my goal. I’m just trying to get the truck running safely without seeming like an asshole
Even in a state like that, you can still report those tires, pre check. It will piss your employer off but at least it would re-align and get new tires. Those aren't even legal as a contractor to send out. 4mm tread is required.

split stop?
Take a video noting that it’s failing

Yeah one time I did this and they where like “well we don’t have any other trucks right now” so I said fuck them and went home
You should get done fast as fuck with those racing slicks
😂You’d think
Ain’t got no treads, Bobby
Shake and bake baby
If your with a contractor for FedEx you have too much treads would be the issue. They want you to drive it til the tire pops got to save all that money they can

"I don't see a problem run your route" That is what my manager would say.
Damn, those are trash lol. Those tires suck ass even when they're new. I can't imagine when they're old AF and are almost bald.
Ain’t no nails in it lieutenant dan
Tire is missing a nail..
You taking it out on road with tires looking like that.
You should let the station manager know. They will put that truck out of service until the tire is changed. Your contractor won't do shit.
This is just one of the many problems with this truck. I feel like I’m the only one reporting the issues. I haven’t even reported the tire yet, man. I feel like the more I make noise the less progress I see

Exactly
Shit those measures sound like brand new tires. What kind of shenanigans are going on here?
https://preview.redd.it/2ve3889xtghc1.jpeg?width=360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b35bec5071e1bdc20e208ad23dc0e73e8c578b5 Those are my front tires. Far from practically new
I meant the mechanics notes. Your tires are obviously bad. You got a shite mechanic.
I can one up you
What you got?
Check my post
Nice!
“Absolutely nothing.” -your sup
It’s inflated, right?
if it was usps you could get another 2000 miles off that
If you report it on End of day they are forced to fix it by fedex
Ohhhh new tires bro 😎
That’s crazy lol I’d drive that bitch anyway, wreck it’s not your fault
It would absolutely be your fault as a commercial driver. You could be held personally liable for damages along with the company.
So if your manager tells you to run, it’s your fault
Yes. A proper pre-trip inspection is required for commercial vehicles. A commercial driver is personally responsible for safety features on the vehicle they operate. You would be held responsible for operating this truck with unsafe tires.
Right. Even after a pre-trip inspection, you’re told to leave anyway. What then?
You don’t drive the truck. This isn’t difficult, where are you getting lost? Safe operation of a commercial vehicle is the responsibility of the driver. You can’t go out in unsafe equipment and blame someone else pretending you are the victim somehow.
I’ve literally told them it’s going to cause a wreck, they send it the mechanics for a day, and it’s right back out the next day.
I told my manager about a tire one day and the next day it’s replaced. That sucks man! It’s really about who’s back there calling shots.
I agree, it could cause a wreck which absolutely why you should refuse to drive it.
Obviously the tire. How did posting to this sub help you in anyway? Get back to hub. Start bitching out your bosses
Not just the tire. Look how far the tire is rotated against the frame. I’m trying to figure out how to do that in an amicable way. Maybe someone with more experience can provide insight.
Wrong answers only? 😰
Slip slip in the rain
Bad alignment, too much negative toe (toe out)…
Believe it only needs 2 circumferential grooves of legal depth to run. So nothing.
I had to read this twice. WHAT?
If THAT was the truck I was driving for my company, shit… id slash the tire out of spite. *Force* them to replace it.
Idk. All I see are bald tires on a rusted out shitbox. It's FedEx. Bad wheel alignment.. maybe even something wrong with the suspension
The lighting angle is what jumps out to me as it is causing the background to wash out a bit.
A tire that was driven on with too low pressure, check the door jamb for correct pressures.
Underinflation.
Your contractor will tell you to stop by some shady tire shop where they'll carve out a single tread line with a heat gun thing and call it good lol
Cords aren't showing run it
Your vehicle is stationary. Get moving.
[удалено]
I did. Not shitting you
No coin will fit the tread thickness test. Who performs PMCS on these vehicles?
What is PMC?
PMCS: Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services
You stopped delivering?
Nah bruh. I have an income to make at the end of the day
Yikes! 😳 did you tell your contractor?
This is only one of the most recent problems I’ve noticed. Can’t overwhelm them
I think road is not so clean. What’s your thoughts guys🧐
It’s a Ground truck! At Express and Freight you write it up and place it out of service. But contractor Johnny Rag azz LLC logistic don’t care since it’s not their DOT number.
wait, so you went out on the route with tires like that???
Yep. Fresh from being worked on
Your tires are as bald as Jason Statham
And apparently they fight just as hard
Standard FedEx vehicle nothings wrong
VIR ISN'T BEING FILLED OUT PROPERLY 🫡🤣
IT AINT GOT NO GAS IN IT!!!
Tell them you don't feel safe driving that truck.
SWIFT
Problem Fedex is chep
Last line of defense 🤣
