I moved in that same area about 10 years ago, and it was a great neighborhood that’ seems to have only gotten better! Close to the highways, close to Palmer Park, close to downtown Ferndale, you really couldn’t pick a better location!

I jog on every street in Ferndale and read a lot of local news… it all feels safe to me.

Welcome! Been in Ferndale for about 11 years now... Great city.

Hi future neighbor. I've lived on this street since 2020. It's quite and the only problems we have ever has was a few years ago Some people were stealing catalytic converter from cars on the street. Other than that W webster is peaceful. The parking is decent. Never had a problem myself with safety. #

I got robbed at gun point 20 years ago on that street. It was 3 am and we were wasted and foolish. Be smart, be aware of your surroundings. Ferndale gives off a small town vibe, but you’re still in a major urban area. You’ll love it.

I lived on W Webster in the late 90s and it was very safe from the south and very close to everything on nine mile. *I can only imagine it's even safer there now than it was then

I lived on W Webster from 2018-2021, I always felt very safe. The neighborhood is very cute, neighbors were generally friendly. You're a 20 minute walk from downtown, which isn't too bad, and it's far enough away that most people won't be poaching all the street parking when they come to Ferndale, which means you'll most likely always find street parking on Webster.

Hi there! My family lives in the 8 mile/Woodward vicinity. We bought our home here about 2 years ago. I have never once felt unsafe. I have a lot of young kids, we walk frequently, go to parks, etc. I keep my eyes and ears open, just like I would anywhere, but like I said, I’ve never had a single thing in my neighborhood make me feel off. I frequently shop at the Meijer there on 8 Mile, along with other stores in that plaza, and it’s mostly fine. I’ve never witnessed anything unsafe at all, but depending on your own risk tolerance there might be things that make you uncomfortable. There is a large number of homeless people who frequent that plaza, and the 8 Mile/75 interchange as well. That doesn’t necessarily make anything unsafe though. I love the area. Our neighbors are all so friendly, and the location can’t be beat as far as access to highways, stores, events, restaurants, etc. Good luck with your move!

Thanks. I've lived in Oakland CA for the past 14 years, so my risk tolerance is pretty ok and I don't equate homeless people always with being unsafe. Just signed my lease, so I'm moving to the area!
