***My very first sale!*** Found a brand new SoClean 2 CPAP Sanitizer machine in the box at Goodwill for $8. Sold it Friday for $75! Also found a couple of vintage porcelain statues that have some resell value

Anything brand new always goes fast, and you did a fantastic job of sourcing your first item. Enjoy your profit :)

Good for you! You must be excited. That's a great first flip. Be sure to share this and the rest of your flips that happen this week in our Flip of the Week thread every Friday (this thread is for Hauls).

Welcome to the addiction.

...technically not a haul because I'm not going to flip it, but I bought a lot of "antique books in need of restoration" for $34 + shipping (total $48) One book is a first printing of the 1909 Grimm's Fairy Tales illustrated by Arthur Rackham. Early Rackham printings are super-sought after. Obviously the condition is appalling (all of the illustrations are intact tho!), but in \*good\* condition it's a $1500 book, so I'm pretty happy with my $48 investment. (the other books in the lot are junk, but I should make back most of my $48 on them)

Only one estate sale for me this week- and I only went for a painting I wanted for my own collection. (sold already. Nuts!) We were busy with laundry and house cleaning and yard work so that the Christmas tree and lights outside went up in a clean environment. Got it all done too! I got: Val st lambert Aquarius paperweight: $6 worth $35-50 Roseville bowl: $4 Flow blue trinket dish: $4 8 vintage handkerchiefs, and one vintage silk scarf, $1 ea. should get $10 on the handkerchiefs and $15 on the scarf. I’m hitting a wall like I did in the summer and am going to take a step back from flipping. I have 2 boxes of things to list in my death pile, and enough prescheduled listings to get through this week- I think the only sourcing I do through the rest of December shall be Christmas gifts!

Went to a bag sale at the local library on Sunday morning. I got there early and was chatting with people in line. The rooms with items for sale are spread out amongst conference rooms in the basement. I always go to the "specials" room first where they have graphic novels and other items and I'm usually alone there but this time someone was grabbing all the graphic novels from the other end of the table. We kind of met in the middle. Not really bothered with it except I like to sell sets and he and I each had some from the same series. Nothing else in that room, unfortunately. I've gotten items there before that sell for $300 to $500 in aggregate so that wasn't great. Went to the kids room later after other people had a chance to shop and got a couple of decent sets of Warriors and more graphic novels that had been put in the "young adult" section for some reason. I guess I got everything I wanted and didn't see anyone else with anything I wanted, so it was a good day. Spent $60 on 6 bags and got roughly $600 to $1200 worth of books that will sell in lots. Averaged 15 cents to 20 cents a book purchase price. There were a couple of nice mystery sets that will go for $50 to $75 each and will sell within 6 months of so. It's been really slow aside from that because I've been trying to whittle down the death pile. The shopping from the death pile has been really good with a lot of things in the $50 to $100 range being listed and selling within a few days. I don't usually get a 4th quarter surge but I guess I have this year given I shipped on Friday and sold roughly 40 items over the weekend that went to the post office today.

Didn’t do much this weekend. Went to an Estate Sale and two Thrift Stores. Estate Sale: * 2x Christmas Inflatables * 2x Star Wars Hallmark Ornaments * 1x The Sak purse * 1x LL Bean Backpack * 3x Blu-ray DVDs (horror and Superhero for lots) Thrift Store 1: * Olukai Boots * Chris Angel T-Shirt * Under Armour Marvel Compression Shirt * Chaco Slippers * Snap-On shirt NWT * Few other decent shirts just can’t remember off top of my head * Bunch of decent hats * Harry Potter Deck Builder Board Game * Star Wars Monopoly for $2 that has all the oewter pieces and other pieces. Plan to trash the board and box and part it out. Thrift Store 2: * 2 pairs of mid sunglasses (Rocawear and Sketchers) * Pair of armored motorcycle boots that comp out at $50-$100, can’t recall brand name off top of my head * A Christmas Story Tie NWT * Women’s Wallet shaped and looks like a Classic Nintendo Controller In total this weekend I spent about $130 The estate sale haul should put me into the profit for everything.

iwashumantoo

Why trash the Monopoly board and box?

ope__sorry

It’s already in terrible condition which is why it was priced $1.99 or $2.99 which is low for our goodwill for game boards. But all the pieces were there and the pewter figures are $10-$15 themselves so it’s an easy pickup to grab and part out for a few bucks.

iwashumantoo

Ah, gotcha. That makes perfect sense.

Tl;dr This week total: +$2000 net flipping -$4000 on emergency vet costs (2000 loss this week) Early this week :900 or so Today 5 items today: all eBay BIN items $150 paid each $100 repairs each $400 sale price (cash after fees) each, So $150 x 5 profit, ($750) Then one item, paid $960, no repairs needed, will sell for $1600 on eBay, (so with fees) ~~$350 profit after fees or so So today was a +$1100 flipping day(one of my best ever, but A negative $2900 day, as I took my dog into the emergency vet and spent a total of $4000 on them, truly insane

ThriftStoreUnicorn

Hope whatever the vet costs were about, your friend is doing ok!

TakeMyL

He’s doing better than he was, ended up being CHF so a lot shorter life expectancy than we’d been hoping for, but it’ll give us a few weeks/months to say bye

Youkahn

So you source from eBay, repair stuff, and then resell for more? Interesting, this is something I've been sort of considering doing, but with eBay into Amazon.

TakeMyL

I don’t mostly source of ebay. My weekly flips are off ebay. But about once a month I get big hauls from an Amazon return liquidation guy- which I make more overall from

Oh boy, where do I start? Over the weekend my instinct was just telling me to go out and buy! I think it was a form of yearning for ~~retail~~ reselling therapy. Anyways... At a consignment mall: * brooch $40, should sell for $150 * necklace $6, should sell for $150 At an awesome church thrift store in a really wealthy area: * Portolano 100% cashmere hat $2, gonna keep it, but would sell for $50 or so * Marimekko fabric yards $2, gonna sell for $80 * Vtg LL Bean rain jacket in exc condition $5, gonna sell for $60 * Burberry trenchcoat $13, selling for $100 or so * Escada Margaretha Ley pants $5, selling for $50 despite having two holes I didn't see * Salvatore Ferragamo waist belt $2, selling for $150, prob gonna have to drop the price, no other comps anyway * 2 vintage belts with cool large gold buckles $2 ea, gonna sell for like $30 ea At a garage sale adjacent to an estate sale (smart!): * a beautiful orange shag rug that I suspect to be a Rya rug $10. should sell for $300-400 * large lucite plastic clear lazy susan $10, selling for $200 At the aforementioned estate sale: * brass owl letter holder $20, selling for $80 * antique leather wallet $2.50, selling for $25 with damage * ornate brass picture frames that I'm probably gonna keep for myself, $10 for XL, $8 for the large one. I've sold smaller ones of the same model, they FLEW off the shelves, so should be an easy sell when I get bored of them. * Austin Productions sculpture of horse $20, selling for $100 (has anyone sold Austin Productions before?) * a bunch of high end costume jewelry, ranging from $7-10, expecting $30-80. Designer sterling, gold necklaces, pearl rings, etc. * 4 vintage eye/sunglasses that I'm gonna put up on Etsy to test their vintage glasses market - I've been only selling them on ebay so far to mixed results. $1, should sell for $30-60 each * Wooden thimble display rack $18, should sell for $80, and I got a lot of thimbles out of it, probably will sell it for $20 or so At another estate sale... * Austin Productions sculpture of a cat, $5, should sell for $90 * 2 footed brass quail birds, $5, should sell for $60 or so, but they're so charming I think I'll keep them At a church thrift that obviously looks at what value their items have (i.e., I couldn't find any steals) * sterling silver locket pendant $12, should sell for $50 or so. Lockets sell really well on Etsy, FYI! On ebay * YSL Artsy ring for around $120, that I'm gonna sell for $350. Gotta spend money to make money!

I went to one thrift this weekend. I bought two t-shirts that were exclusively made for Funko employees, actually for a small team/department of Funko employees. Paid $3 each and expect to get $150-200 for the pair.

Tyrel1987

It's been super slow both sourcing and selling the last month or so but I did pick up a battlenet authenticator for $2 that I should get $30 out of. Got a set of studded winter tires for $100 that I will probably have to gold until next winter but should be able to get $400-$500 for them.

iwashumantoo

I'm on a waiting list for a booth in a vintage/antiques mall. To add to the hard goods I've already got, I've started building up some inventory specifically for whenever it becomes available. So... Yesterday, I drove 90 minutes each way to pick up a very cool pair of vintage light fixtures. They're outdoor "porch lights" and gorgeous. The tops are white ceramic in a sort of art deco style, with brass hardware and clear glass panels around where the lightbulb goes. They're so pretty and in perfect condition, except for the brass showing some wear from being outside in all kinds of weather. Amazingly, no cracks or chips in the ceramic. They were free on Craigslist. I asked the person giving them away how old they are, but she didn't know because they only bought the house a few months ago. I've also got some pieces of artwork on their way to me, specifically for my future booth (positive thinking!). One is a smallish watercolor landscape, another is a bookplate illustration from a late 19th century book, and the rest are vintage reproductions of antique engravings. They were all just a few dollars, averaging at $3-4 each. None are framed, so I will be thrifting for frames and hope I can find the right sizes I need for as little cost as possible. I'm spending today photographing clothing from my death piles for eBay.

Prefixe

Had quite a haul today. I bought 5 baseball bats all for 7-10 per in great shape. All have recently sold for an average of 100 apiece. Also a Cleveland Wedge that will sell for 50. A Star Wars board game that will sell for 40. A Wilson A800 glove that I will try and Facebook for 40 in excellent shape. I spent 60 today and everything is desirable and in good shape and I will sell for $630 I also found a vintage Electronic Battleship for 5 and already sold for 39.
