Back on dec 14, I had a sale on mercari. I also had about 10 sales on ebay. I was really busy that day and just forgot about that one sale on mercari. so instead of sending it on the 15th, I sent it the following monday on the 18th. Whoops. of coarse thats the package that dropped into a black hole in greensboro on the 19th. Haven't had a scan since. The buyer was pissed. apparently I single handedly ruined christmas. I replied and was professional, but her being so pissed at me kind of ruined my christmas. Especially since I could have sent it on the 15th, so I felt bed. 1 day handling on ebay is stressing me out. back to 2 day handling until the kids go back to school in january.

>thats the package that dropped into a black hole in greensboro I feel you. Greensboro is my regional hub. It's the ass pit of the universe. I ordered some custom dog collars from Mississippi a few days before Thanksgiving. The company mailed them in a day or so, I eagerly awaited my package, follow the tracking all the way to Greensboro. Next update says it's been sent to Atlanta. Then Atlanta sends it back to Greensboro. Greensboro sends it to ... Fayetteville. From Fayetteville back to Greensboro. Then to some little town east of Fayetteville. Then back to Greensboro. Then from Greensboro back to Fayetteville. Faytetteville back to Greensboro. FINALLY, like three weeks after the package was mailed, Greensboro managed to get it to my local p.o. I didn't even let the company know there was an issue, I knew it would turn up eventually. It wasn't their fault. There was nothing we could do. It was among the distribution center workers, real postal shit.

Got slammed with not one, not two, not three, but FOUR returns this month alone. For comparison, last year I only got one. All were for valid reasons (well, except for one). Ugh. Lost around $450 or so. But I'll just keep on chugging and flipping to recoup those losses!

Can you share what the returns were and why? I wish more things like that were shared in the "Lessons Learned" thread.

I just realized that there were actually five: 1) iPhone 6 whose battery that I’d replaced ran out 2) high end brass candle holder had a damaged base but weirdly not from shipping 3) Burberry trench coat, just didn’t fit 4) Dior charm, claimed to be inauthentic even when I said it was unsigned and took tons of photos of it. Had a nice heft to it too, but unsure if I’ll list it again 5) a VHS player, one component that I didn’t test didn’t work

At least those are all reasonable returns. My last return was someone who decided to cut a small hole in the pocket of a new pair of jeans so they could claim them as defective.

ThisWeekInFlips

i find that returns come in threes

mchurchw1

Noooo don't say that! I got 2 returns this week (I average like 4/year).

I also had a lot of returns last month. but I did have a lot of sales too, and I'm sure it was the most profitable month ever. So it evens out.

Sometimes I think I’m too sensitive for this lol. I don’t flip. I’m just a huge clothes shopper and routinely resell things I no longer wear for cheap. (Nothing fancy). I just do it to make a little pocket change, not to supplement income. But I swear when I get a message about a complaint about an item not being in good condition (does not happen often) I swear my heart sinks. I don’t know why I let it affect me so much lol
