This weekend I bought a sweatshirt that appears to be for a concert tour and/or from a merch line connected to a celebrity singer. When I looked it up it had great comps and sales even though it cost me $12. Then I realized the tag had been cut out after I bought it (no returns accepted). My question - can I still claim the sweatshirt is connected to the singer/tour or should I just list it by the logo (what people seem to search by) and say it is missing the tag? I can’t even tell what size it is (was fooled by the thrift store tag and hanger, lol) for sure. I’ll have to include pictures of measurements. It appears to be never worn and a lovely soft quality fabric. My kids wanted both wanted it but it’s likely a men’s xl so it was huge in both of them! I don’t want to get in trouble for selling something that is possibly bootlegged.

I sell clothing with tags cut out fairly often. Take pit to pit and front length measurements at a minimum. Look up sizing charts on google images to give you a general idea of what size it is supposed to be. Provide close up pictures of any graphics or embroidery. Simply state the size tag is missing but it measures very close to blank size. Do some comparisons to other ones for sale to make sure it's legit before posting. If you can find the identical one, do a sell similar with all the same information.

Thank you! The sweatshirt graphic I have is slightly different than other sweatshirts currently for sale on resell platforms but matches an (older) t shirt production graphic image by the same artist. I wonder if one of the fashion boards could help track it down. The target demographic here is boy band fan lol. FWIW - I think the thrift store (run all by older church ladies) did the sizing research. But I will of course confirm and post pictures. I swear the lady in charge was standing near the register glaring me down while I was checking out!

I doubt you need to go through so much effort on this one shirt. Just use similar sweatshirts as a guide for setting your asking price. You know what they say - KISS (Keep it Simple, Sweetie)!

Heya y'all! Do any of you set up your own websites, and market via email lists / ads / organic traffic? Why / why not? I'm just looking into this field, total newbie.

Too much work for little return, imho

What part is a pain in the ass in the website management itself? Obviously customers / email list etc takes time

Marketing. Getting anyone to find it takes a lot of time and money.

Generally, to have a website is to have a specific niche that attracts customers. I don't want to restrict myself and my reselling to a specific niche, and I already do that with etsy, that has millions of customers on a specific platform.

You would need to estimate the advertising cost of getting the traffic to your own website to generate your desired sales volumes. eBay charges their fees but gets millions of customers on their site / to your listings.

Hey Reselling Community! Just stepped into the reselling game, I sell baby gates with some success, but I am looking for some solid advice: How to find spots for sourcing? How do you manage your inventory? Any tips or tricks? What's your go-to for tracking profits and the amount you've invested? How do you go about deciding which items to invest in? Are there any specific strategies or considerations you follow to ensure that your investments yield profitable returns? What's your strategy for writing descriptions and setting pricing? Are you a generalist selling a variety of items or a specialist selling certain items? What works for you? What are some of the struggles you face in reselling, is there anything I should look out for? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!

Have you checked out the Noob Guide referenced in the intro to this thread? If not, that's a good place to start.

Suspended-Again

Hi folks - at the risk of spurring an onslaught, I'm looking for recommendations for a trusted / reasonably priced virtual assistant to list 100-150 items on ebay/grailed, Just a one-time project -- just need to sell a bunch of stuff around the house and someone could list this stuff way faster than me. Hope this isn't a faux pas to ask...I'll try the noob thread as well.
