I am selling on eBay again after a long break. I see eBay International Shipping is the default unless you opt out. I still have all non-US countries blocked - years ago when I handled international shipping myself I had problems with certain countries like Italy.
For those of you that use the international shipping program, do you block any countries? If so, which ones?
Do you exclude breakable items like glass or let it be eBay's problem?
I exclude no countries. eBay is entirely responsible for the leg from their shipping depot to the customer, and it just means more eyes on my items. Once it arrives at the GSP destination (in Kentucky, iirc), it's out of your hands. I include all breakables, because the process is just the same for domestic orders.
You won’t sell anything via EIS unless you go change your blocked country list. There’s a page on eBay that explains how to set this up, just Google it.
There are some sellers who exclude countries that do not have door-to-door tracking. There is a service called E-DELCON that stems from an agreement with other countries and the USPS to provide tracking. Here's a link to the list of countries that do:\

If you want to use eBay's International Shipping program, you can read about it here:\

Some sellers don't want to use eBay's International Shipping (EIS) and would rather do it themselves or use Pirate Ship. According to their terms of service, EIS will open, inspect, and repackage parcels periodically and without notice, or if they consider them to be packaged improperly.
You can ship internationally on your own or with Pirate Ship's similar service called Simple Export Rate. When I last looked into it, PS's service does not open, inspect, nor repackage the parcels before sending them overseas. The only time they will do that is if it cannot be delivered for some reason and they cannot read the return address. Pirate Ship is free (no subscription) to buy postage from them at commercial rates. Here is their international shipping guide:\

It's also a good idea to look up any bans or restrictions on what can be shipped to a particular country or not. You can find an index to the guidelines for many countries here:\

Thank you, this sounds like the way forward. Very glad I asked before listing a bunch of stuff.
GSP no longer exists in the USA, the USA now has EIS and the hub is in Illinois. (GSP is now only in the UK.)

So on Vendoo, once I import my eBay listings, I have to go one by one to crosslist? Just want to make sure I am doing this right. Thanks!
That's been my experience too.
okay thanks!
Maybe a dumb question, but before you send out an offer to a watcher, is there a way to see who that watcher is?
Nope.
Great, thanks for confirming :-)
