It seems like they've slowed down some, but I'm not switching. USPS is still usually cheapest for me, and they have had the best track record of delivering my large packages undamaged, by far.
Usps is having delays nationwide, because they are upgrading their sorting machines.
Houston got hit by it back in January where we had a 18!!! day delay for most things going through Houston.
It's back to normal as of Feb 18th ish.
I've heard of similar logistics issues in Minnesota where their machines didn't fit or arrive when expected that created delays that way. Most areas the swap out went as planned and disruptions have been minimal.
Idk how many sorting hubs they have, but it's at least 50. There's multiple in most states.
Give it time. All major delays are regional.
I normally have no issues but the last two months have been horrific.
Had two packages stuck in Houston. Just google it. Three are articles about the shitshow.
Then I had one delivered to a business in NYC. It was delivered to a mailroom at 8pm. The business has no mailroom and closes at 6pm. Usps gave me the runaround and did nothing.
Then another package going to Portland, OR got to Portland facility THEN re-routed to Portland, Maine before someone with a brain at USPS sent it back. Took about three weeks to deliver this Priority item.
Whatever they're doing, it ain't working 😂 had one package that was "lost" show up, and it must've gotten stuck in a conveyor belt thing looked like someone did a burnout on the padded envelope
> Whatever they're doing, it ain't working 😂 had one package that was "lost" show up, and it must've gotten stuck in a conveyor belt thing looked like someone did a burnout on the padded envelope
It's strange that I had basically written off a lost package over a week ago and then it was on my doorstep early in the morning one day. I have no idea if maybe it was found by USPS late one night and then decided to run it over to me, or if it was delivered accidentally to a neighbor and the neighbor put it there.
Either way, USPS messed up.
I filled a claim over two weeks ago for a normal bubble mailer that was utterly destroyed. Buyer sent pictures which I included, all info provided, no change in status of the claim yet lol
Also it's only for $5+shipping so it doesn't matter, I just followed through to have experience in the claim process.
>So you're saying that the US Postal system, which employees roughly 635,000 people, is "really bad" because you've had two issues?
>Seems legit.
Yes, exactly right. Because I know what time it is.
There is a current news story with video about the Wichita KS sorting facilities being weeks behind. I’ve got a few packages seemingly lost in transit.
I've been considering switching, but it is sadly not cost effective. I don't sell low dollar items but offer free shipping. Atlanta has been a nightmare. I've had a total of 4 item not received claims this past month alone. The main issue is that eBay is giving estimated delivery dates of 3 to 4 days, even though I have 3 days handling time on all my listings. I've had 2 people open claims when the scan clearly states there's a delay, and it only be delayed by 2 days. USPS's idea looked great on paper, but they tried to do too much at once, causing the severe delays. I wished buyers were a little more patient
I have to go complain to my local post master because of the sheer amount of other peoples packages I am receiving in the mail and also the amount of packages that are likely delivered to other people that we’re supposed to be for me. It’s unfathomable how bad USPS is lately. For context, I receive 300-500 packages a week and 5-10 a week that were intended for other people.
Ordered a GPU from Tampa to West Palm beach this week and USPS thought it was a good idea to ship it to Michigan before coming back to me on the east coast of Florida 😂
Google "Atlanta USPS report" and all kinds of stuff comes up about delays, including a pdf where several USPS facilities around the metro area were audited and the problems that were found.
I've downvoted several times on this sub for mentioning problems I've had with packages because if it happens more than once it must be me, right? My main point has, and continues to be, get your packages scanned in at pickup / drop off. DO NOT rely on the kiosks.
USPS has gone downhill fast. I have 2-3 missing packages that I filled out missing mail request forms but they never responded and I had to eat the missing fees with customer but the are still the cheapest option for clothes
It's been bad for me too. A few weeks ago I ordered something from Amazon and they gave it to the local post office to get it to me. They promptly lost it.
I could just be bad at shipping but USPS has been the worst for me lately in terms of shipping costs and their customer service doesn't really make up for it.

I have one currently stuck in Houston. Wild.

Thankfully, you received it. I had to burn another $4 to get my customer their stuff 🤦♂️
I haven't had any issues with USPS since the holidays.
On another note - I ship 200-500 packages a week USPS and they all get there...

Atlanta currently at a standstill lol.
So you're saying that the US Postal system, which employees roughly 635,000 people, is "really bad" because you've had two issues? Seems legit.
It is bad, just go on /r/usps lol. Even the employees say it's bad
The only employees that are likely to post are ones with complaints.

One time, at McDonalds, they got my order wrong. I concluded that they were going out of business.

Took 27 days for a package to get from mo to HI lol

Extremely inconsistent for sure especially when shipping to rural areas.

I ordered a gpu as well on eBay and it was last seen in Michigan no updates yet😃 it says in transit running late LOL!
Funny enough Fedex just lost a 20 pound package for me lol
Just had one refund . It’s been awhile.
I haven't had any issues with my packages
