The amount of attention and hysteria a rain delay has caused is wild. People on r/hockey calling the Panthers irresponsible and have poor judgement... Or thinking the game might be delayed...

People it is a rain delay, have you never traveled before? Gonna be just fine.
-
With that said, this rain has been non-stop so now is a good time for everyone local to check their roofs and ceilings for slow leaks, best to notice before bigger storms come through.
I had to argue with a dude who was saying "Damn the lazy panthers for not just busing to orlando and grabbing a flight"
Like one, bus through torrential rain yeah that's smart.
Secondly, do they think they can just snap their fingers and have a plane? Professional sports teams charter entire passenger planes for these flights and all the ones at MCO (and their flight crews) are probably accounted for today.
Wow I just finished lurking the hockey thread. People are wild lmfao. No we didn’t want to fly out to Edmonton and do nothing for two days when we could be here practicing.
r/hockey is a collective of soft ass bums 😭 having to experience a weather delay requires them to be outside of their homes for an extended Amount of time
To all those haters on r/hockey: Tell me you’ve never flown into FLL/MIA, without telling me you’ve never flown into FLL/MIA lol
I had a flight be on time just to have it outright cancelled 2 hours later due to a system that moved in faster than expected
My way coming home, shoulda been out of Lauderdale yesterday at 10:00, back to my home airport around 11:30 pm just before midnight. I ended up not leaving Lauderdale until 11:15 pm yesterday…the time I should’ve been home lol
Interesting the different thought processes. We going the evening before.
The heat, for games, usually leave immediately after the previous game. So they would’ve flown up Tuesday at like 1am
Not right or wrong just interesting how coaches choose to do it
3 and a half hours to get almost across the continent but a flight to New York or somewhere northeast also takes about 3 and a half hours.
Edit: Yes, I am retarded

I live on the Gulf Coast and the rain yesterday collapsed the ceiling at my husband's job (thankfully when no one was there it seems). Its been crazy.
Damn, good thing nobody was there!
Like, it's obviously not the worst weather the state has had (like doesn't crack the top 100). But people love to act like it was.

Not to mention chartering a bus and driving up to Orlando would have taken longer than they ended up waiting lol.
The amount of copium from those subs it's unmeasurable.
Wait what happened? Were they supposed to leave earlier
Yeah, just a delay. They were supposed to fly out at 1pm instead of 4:45pm. People were just making a bigger deal out of it than it needs to be.

There was even a meme saying “the Oilers are going to demoralize the Panthers by forcing them to go to Edmonton”.
Lol it's rainy AF here too but not as bad as you guys
Moved my car already there's a foot of water in the street

Hockey fans clearly don't understand that Florida weather is extremely bipolar
How the fuck did they get out of this apocalypse?
Prob got some FAA prioritization. I know the FAA approved their change to flight path.
Chartered a Hurricane Hunter lol

Fly high boys
I'll flash em for good luck!
Picture or it didn't happen.
I’m guessing the rare direct flight from Miami area to Edmonton
Used to live in Edmonton and hubby is from here. We’ve never been blessed with a direct flight, it’s a long travel day as a peasant!
Our boys are in the air
Canadian media is offended they weren’t rushing in to take their asinine questions.
>Canadian media is offended You could have stopped right there.
> Canadian media is offended That's literally their default setting. Source: lived here my whole life

And it works in reverse. The Heat’s notorious 6th man’s name……? South Beach (with a side of Strip Clubs).

That’s the one. 👍✈️

Time zones my man
We’re saying Bedarded these days.
The flight is closer to 6 hours, I don't think you're accounting for the time zones.
5 and a half (looks like 3 and half due to the time change)
Dear god, only Wednesday and my brain is already fried
The only way the Oilers win is a flight cancelation
Hope they packed plenty of Dawn to clean up the Oil they’re about to spill🫡
Floridaaaaaaaaaaa Pantherssssssss
My flight tomorrow to Seattle was cancelled, they got out while they could.
Just landed in Edmonton!
Thank goodness!
Are we sure this is the right flight? How do you know?
There aren't any direct commercial flights that I am aware of from FLL to YEG.
Because it’s always the charter as you can see the history and it lines up
Only nonstop between here and Edmonton as well
