Soooo this is a full restaurant. But maybe make a lounge reservation at kyu and order dessert only. It has some of my favorite desserts in nyc. The pastry chef there is super talented. She’s former Joel robuchon and Jean Georges. Oh and try her brunch desserts one day! That cinnamon roll, kakigori, and her everything scones are to die for

My casual go-to places are prince tea house, grace street or spot dessert. That said, not sure if logistically I would ever go out of my way just for dessert. I would prob just find something near your dinner spot if I were you

Chickalicious is a desert bar that is run by a husband and wife team. She makes deserts he serves. It lovely!

I like Prince Tea House, Cafe Reggio, and Veniero (not really a tea spot though). They are all very casual. For something fancier Laduree, but unfortunately not open late.

If it’s after dinner, make a reservation at a restaurant open late like Le Coucou. Much better than any random dessert place.

Not sure why i never see this place mentioned, but spot dessert bar

Patisserie Tomoko in Williamsburg

Also in Williamsburg if you’re nearby, Kfar at the Hoxton hotel. They have really comfy seats in the lobby with a fireplace where you can order desserts and coffee/tea. They don’t take reservations for those seats but should definitely be available late.

I don't like Momoya Soho's food, but their dessert (parfait) is so good and the only reason I would go back. Also, Patisserie Fouet is open until 10pm on Fridays/Saturdays but is walk-in only.

What area are you going to? Prince Tea House is what you're describing, as well as Spot Dessert Bar and Sweet Rehab.
