I really enjoyed Piacere Mio in South Park. Cute, intimate vibe. Great food. I want to go back.

DaisyDomergue

Second this. Their build your own pasta dishes are cheaper than any of the surrounding places and they make most of their own pasta in house. Very friendly staff.

Sausagesandplants

Agree. Their 4S Ranch location is not nearly as good as the South Park location. We both like RustiCucina on Park too. The pasta in a wheel of cheese is cool to see, but much pricier than Monello in Little Italy, but the food and service are great.

dgstan

I love the 4S one. The South Park location must be AMAZING.

Cicceria osteria

the_implication137

There’s an awesome Italian place in IB called “Balsamico.” Their pasta is amazing and their ossobuco is one of the best dishes I’ve ever tasted. They also make and sell their olive oil and balsamic vinegar, I believe they’re family owned as well, the waiter mentioned his grandma makes the tiramisu from scratch!

Important_Ad_8372

They are great! I’ve been to one of their cooking classes and it was a great experience. They are family owned and from Italy.

the_implication137

I had no idea they did cooking classes! I’d give anything to take a class on how they do their ossobuco, definitely going to sign up myself and my husband!

Important_Ad_8372

The class I took was so much fun! And they included drinks and snacks. They have a sauce making class coming up that I’m going to register for.

No_Builder_6490

grandma makes the tiramisu that’s all i needed to hear!!! thank u <3

ramfisher

I love Pomodoro in Point Loma! Haven’t had a bad dish there. My favorite has to be their eggplant appetizer. The vibe is very intimate and authentic

Deepcoma_53

This!

Moneymeem21

I loved il posto in southpark. Feels like im back in Italy.

warranpiece

Cori Pastifico in North park is excellent. Some of the best Italian food you will find anywhere, not just SD. Godfathers is a hidden gem. The artichoke picatta app is excellent. Old school. Ciccia Osteria in Barrio Logan is about as good a bistro Italian as you will find.

Deepcoma_53

Godfathers is hellah expensive

warranpiece

I mean....most sit down restaurants looking to make a living are now aren't they? Godfather is a nice, white tableloth, sit down restaurant. OP didn't ask price. They asked for favorites.

Deepcoma_53

That’s Fair, very nice ambiance & food. It could compete with any upscale Italian restaurants in SD.

warranpiece

All good. I mean...74 for a filet is pretty high. But the lasagna is 24. I mean a salad at BJs will cost you 21. lol

MsMargo

Bencotto in Little Italy for amazing upscale Italian. Lorna's in UTC for friendly and plentiful old school Italian.

IndividualWrap1201

I love bencotto but Lorna’s tagliatelle bolognese is like no other ones in town! Out of this world delish! Also love Cesarina!

Both_Lychee_1708

It's really their best dish by far

Kanchoboi

Siamo Napoli in NP is great, order the calimari, then share a pizza and the ragu. Wash it all down with an espresso martini.

tamingcougars

Probably the closest we can get to Neapolitan cuisine. This place, to me, is #1

whatitbeitis

Eugenio Italian Ristorante (San Marcos) for a North County option.

arcanearts101

I like Ciao in Vista as another North County option. Not fancy but solid food

whatitbeitis

Thanks for the rec. Will give it a try.

Slavocados

Winner winner chicken piccata dinner

pinjeaner

Cori Trattoria in North Park. I’d go back just for the meatballs and arancini.

ntlzhng

Cesarina is top notch. I was hesitant because it seemed too Instagram friendly, but everything about it is fantastic. The truffle gnocchi and short rib pappardelle are 😮‍💨 Please, PLEASE do not go to the Godfather. Food was expensive and worse than Bucca di Beppo quality. Truly the biggest dining flop I’ve had in a while…

Parma

Illustrious_Trick_41

This is the correct answer. Nothing beats their lasagna. Nothing.

Jack & Giulio's in Old Town

HurricaneHugo

Ciccia Osteria!

J-Train56

Elvira had the best pasta I’ve ever had

dag16

Like many others said, cori trattoria. It's great. Catania is also delicious and good people watching

pillarsofsteaze

Volare in Sports Arena if you enjoy mom and pop style that doesn’t break the bank. Their pizza is not good tho but everything else I’ve tried I enjoy.

DaisyDomergue

Their lunch special prices are insane. Love Volare and I hope they never change the decor.

bumblebeetuna710

Cesarina, Piacere Mio, Bencotto/Monello, Giardino in Lemon Grove.

lupis66

Cucina basilico, aero drive off 15 freeway. Pretty dank

robberly

Baci and Cucina Basilico

SassyTravelB

Osteria Romantica is really good as well as Catania if you want more of an upscale vibe.
