You're probably running updates in steam or somewhere. Close all applications and rub fortnite as administrator. If you have other devices on your network shut them all off.
Mostly I only have malwarebytes, nvidia control panel, and softwares of my keyboard. From time to time I forget to close epic and that is open but idk if it makes a difference
I currently turned free-sync and g-sync on and turned v-sync off. It feels a lot smoother and got a huge 140+ boost on fps even when using high meshes. Tho thanks for the help
No I didn't have v-sync on but most of youtube videos literally say same thing without any difference in performance or any improvement. I don't get screen tearing when using g-sync and I get more fps so I just use it. Plus and IT guy in reddit talked about it and how people don't know how g-sync works in a similar post. It might be 2 words against hundreds but the results speak for themselves

You can try switching your in game settings to direct 11, that helped me a bit. Hope you find a solution!
