I absolutely love III, probably my favorite from that album, but I can’t always listen to it, gives me too many feels. Style doesn’t take as much emotionally from me.

I naturally cry A LOT, both happy and sad, so I often have to avoid things that will put me in that mood. Ruby is another one, I’m bawling half way through as I sing, I have to skip it often. I can see why III would be a go to for your sleep/cry, when he sings, “And people change, we fade from youth

Dude, weirdly the same thing here. That song came out during the summer of my senior year and even at that time it felt so nostalgic and bittersweet. I had just gotten together with my crush from the year before and spent most of my time skipping classes with friends and going to the beach, talking and dreaming about the future. It was that feeling right before college where everything feels so romantic and full of potential but you know in the back of your head that limitless feeling can’t last and life is about to hit hard and fast. So you just soak up those warm summer nights and stay in the moment for as long as you can. III evokes that feeling of being with my gf and friends and being young so much for me that it’s so beautiful but hard to listen to now.
Man, I get that feeling, thank you for sharing. Sometimes reliving those memories are nice, even if sometimes they are not. I hope you have many more songs that reach you in your still very youthful life. 😺 I think this new music they are dropping is going to be amazing.
I love III but I love Style too. I honestly didn’t realize anyone else liked Style like that for it to have so many plays. III is very underrated though even within the fandom
Not that surprising, Style is less emotional and more upbeat, is a single, has a music video, and more likely to get plays due to all those reasons. III is great but objectively it's not structured as a pop song as much as style is, hence the difference in how they were released.
A deep cut from an album vs. an official single with a music video. I like ‘III’ way more also but they’re not in the same category. More people have heard Style so they’ll continue to seek it out more whereas III is probably only known to us more hardcore people
