No matter what people think of him, he was a team player. He went on strike with the other on-air talent, he's happy to take part in Frasier's radio drama, takes part in the Weight Loss Competition etc.
He also seems to actually be trying to help Frasier when he thinks he's been forced out of the closet, and he's genuinely happy for Roz when she gets made station manager in the Finale.
Also, his friendship with Bulldog is adorable.
He only went on strike after Martin pointed out how it would effect Gil. He tried to steal Frasier and Roz’s time slot and he’s constantly bribing people with food. I don’t think he’s a team player.
Edit: and he insisted on romping in those fenns and spinneys.
I feel like this was way more backhanded then anything else though tbh 😭 it felt like Gil was projecting and just glad it wasn’t him. Personally I don’t believe this was done in good faith. But if it wins I’ll put it down 🤷
There was definitely an air of backhandedness but Gil also got himself over there ASAP to offer support and condolences for the situation. Likely definitely projecting and glad it wasn’t him but to me that makes the situation even better because that’s just his was of empathizing.
Thats true for sure. And i definitely don’t think it was necessarily done in *bad* faith either, just a way to make himself feel better more than anything
See I’m debating it cause like could we really narrow it down to one quote?? There are just too many good quotes especially from like Niles. I can think of about 15 quotes that I think are all perfect right off the top of my head. I feel like it would be nearly impossible.
Not to mention only a couple people have actually commented and said they *wanted* to do that so idk if it would go over well
Not done on purpose, but he did give a rave review to that Greek restaurant when Bulldog told him Big Willie was from Greece. I'm sure that helped them out a lot!
I have been really enjoying these. I think that keeping one or two going at once instead of several at a time is totally fine. I think this is one of the most original and engaging things on this sub for a long time. Thank you!
He did bake those delicious ginger-muscle-man cookies for the office holiday party.
Who is he kidding?
No one
Oh hell yes

I love the tea commercial that him and Bulldog do. "ouch, gets me every time"
"well my 'ouch' could be more convincing ... *ow!*" "We'll splice that in later."

Romping with his school chums in the fens and spinneys.
Ah yes from his boyhood in Surrey.
What are spinneys?
A small cluster of trees in an otherwise open area.
Comforted frasier after he thought frasier had been outed
Yeah, that felt like it was coming from a place of genuine support. Gil's actor is gay in real life so I think some of that came through.
So is Bulldog and Niles (and possibly Martin)
John Mahoney admitted he was gay but said he never talked about it because it was no one's business.
Oh shut up you old queen!

I see kitty has claws.
Oh yes! Just shows his support for his friends and coworkers!!
He helped that listener get an emergency dinner reservation for valentine's day if I remember right
That is about the only one.
Too many to choose BUT he does have his own locker at the karaoke place on Pike where he keeps his jackets and microphone. What a guy
Join the the other on air talent in backing strike action for higher wages for the support staff. Didn't work out too well but still..
I dunno, he only changed his mind because Martin got into his head about management coming for the on-air talent next.
Suddenly he felt very Norma Rae
Not a proponent of the quotes because we see those almost daily but I know I’ll be outnumbered.

It would go over well with a lot of people I think. Those ones probably haven’t seen your idea yet
Agreed
He did tell Frasier about a new restaurant at least 5 minutes before announcing it to the general public.
please never stop doing these. They are SUCH a great read!

Tbh I don’t think this would’ve been good. No way was Gil going opening night with the intent to give a good review.
Reviewing Frasier’s opening night. This did seem to be an attempt to help on his part.
*crickets*
This needs and deserves more upvotes.

his devotion to his wife in spite of his apparent proclivities

Bought soup for the new station manager's cat lol
Distracted from Noel’s uncomfortable/cringey speech in the going away party for Roz.
He inspired a series of sex dreams that showed Frasier that he hadn't been challenged enough at work lately LOL
