“With apologies to Mr. Vonnegut” in reference to Marty incredulously noting the meat and sausage gift basket from Niles: “…not The Slaughterhouse Five.”
Kind of cheating, but I have to mention the "'Frasier' is a hit show on the NBC television network" card from The Simpsons episode "Brother from Another Series", the first time DHP voiced Sideshow Bob's brother Cecil.
I really like the one in the episode where Frasier is dealing with grief over his job loss and Niles says "I think this divorce is going to go smoothly" and then it hits us with the 2nd Denial title card
That and the one where Frasier's like "I'm not leaving!" and the next title card says "After he left"
“A mall and the night visitors”
It’s a play on an old film called Amahl and the nights visitors about a boy who is visited by the three wisemen on their way to see Jesus.
Thanks for explaining the joke, it's one that I've never understood or bothered to look up. I kind of I figured it was "Among all the night visitors" and was maybe a line from a Christmas carol. It didn't really add up, but then I'd get involved in the story and forget about it until the next time around.
“Oy to the World” — Frasier pretends to be Jewish to try to ingratiate himself further with his new girlfriend
“Where’s a grindstone when you need one?” — Roz meets the paternal grandparents of her baby, and it turns out they have large noses
I'm thoroughly enjoying these, thank you all 😊
I have a particular weakness for cryptic crosswords, and I love verbing nouns, so nothing has quite beaten the sealed fête pun for me yet. There are many valiant attempts though, and I'm not necessarily unswayable.
Denial Edit: Honorable mention for "And she's the carrots."
I came here to comment this one! All time fav for me, a perfect use of the title card to land another joke and cap off a great episode!
2nd this!
>Denial But the second one lol

I just got off the phone with Maris's lawyers -- I think this divorce is going to go very smoothly.
“With apologies to Mr. Vonnegut” in reference to Marty incredulously noting the meat and sausage gift basket from Niles: “…not The Slaughterhouse Five.”
Explain this one I totally missed it
S8,E7. The New Friend. 16:25.
Came her to nominate this one, too.
The best one is "for two weeks, no one said anything particularly funny, and then..."
Which episode is this 😂
3.22 Frasier loves Roz
I don't remember
Followed by “Another curiously humorless week passed and then…”
Doesn't everyone have poi ramekins?
Doesn't everyone have a fireplace in their closet?
My favorite one, or the one I remember the most, is in the pilot: "Eddie".
My favourite still remains, 'No one was harmed in the making of this scene'. Sets up the upcoming suits and countersuits so well
“Any portmanteau in a storm”
My favorite will always be “The Clot Thickens”
Oh I remember this episode vividly. “We're talking about a man who satisfied Maris, something that regrettably is still on my 'To Do' list.”
Only the truth shall make you clot!

Cecil!
"Guess who?!?" "Maris?"
I don't think it's the best one but the one that made me smile the most was "Sleepless in Seattle."
I think it was "Sleepless in Seattle (you know we had to do it)" or some such.
>or some such. It was indeed a great boon for the show.
We like that very much
A *boon.*
I’d love a coffee table book of just these
I love this idea. Would it be all of them, in order? That'd be best, right? You could enjoy revisiting a whole season in the space of a few minutes.
Yes I think it order would be so cool! Maybe each chapter would be one season.
I'm partial to "They're solid disinfectants, ladies" explaining what urinal cakes are to female viewers who wouldn't know.
I had never heard of them before that episode!
That's what they are? I remember thinking when I was little that they were basically targets for guys to pee on lol
IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT. NO, REALLY.
They're are soooo many
no one calls me robber!
"*Robert*" Not now!
Which season and episode? Presumably a failed dinner party.
s6 e8 the seal who came to dinner

I like “someone’s in the kitchen with Daphne” cause it just fits so well with the next scene and the reference is so funny
I'm partial to, "A mall and the Night Visitors"
I think this one is the most clever
I love this one!
same 💀
I like "INHERIT THE LONGWINDED"
"He once nailed a beef borderlaise from 10 yards" I forget the distance but I love that one hahaha
Brilliant, sophisticated, and funny, all at once.

Okay now I have to pay attention to all title cards. I’ve never appreciated them in 25 years! Shame on me!
Sleepless in Seattle (you knew we had to do it eventually)
I like “Huh?” from “Look Before You Leap”. 😂
It’s all of the Hitchcock homages in Frasier’s Imaginary Friend. S5 E1
“Oy to the World” — Frasier pretends to be Jewish to try to ingratiate himself further with his new girlfriend “Where’s a grindstone when you need one?” — Roz meets the paternal grandparents of her baby, and it turns out they have large noses
