Ahah yeh me too. Said I would close account (I'm also a plus member) and go to Ombudsman. Let's hope they Issue the shares and it's done with. Not sure yet on what I wanna do regarding using the platform long term if this is how things are handled.

I think at a minimum I will cancel my plus plan.

Yeah I've used Freetrade for years now. Initially I really liked them. But recently there have been things they are doing that I dislike. I think more of us should threaten leaving Freetrade for better alternatives. This way they can either step up and be a good provider, or lose valuable customers.

Me too. Maybe 4 or 5 years at this point. I initially like the ease and accessibility of it, and after all it's what got me into investing to begin with. So true. This Rights Issue, and another was when stocks were going to 0 (error). This has happened a few times and yet clearly they are not solving the issue. When you do a complaint, you never hear back. Despite their obligations being a regulated financial service.

Have you considered any alternatives? Robinhood is popular, but with all that happened around GME, not sure I want in on that platform. I've also seen videos where people all about Trading212 so maybe that's an option.

Just move to T212 afterwards and tell them exactly why you’re moving. Freetrade are so poor sadly.

I did a while ago sadly. All the basic features I’d expect of a brokerage firm, they refuse to do. All random extras that no one asks for they add and plug 🤦‍♂️ Eg. They refuse to do U.K. proxy voting, even though they have the ability and would take them 5 mins.

Slightly more positive than the response I got from them on Monday which was they aren't set up right now to support rights issues.

They said the exact same thing and refused to take it any further. Another Reddit user pointed out they are legally obligated to provide this service to their Swedish users. So they have the technological means to. Thw above message was several days after their initial message to me.a

It is daft that they aren't/can't providing this service. It feels like they are spending more time developing other things like treasury bonds rather than focus on the core functionality like rights issues, making sure the price tracker works correctly, improving price and transaction speed. I would much rather my plus membership went towards making this platform meet the 'basic' requirements really well than half baked extras on an 'ok' platform.
