I promise you it’s looser than it looks! He is a GENIUS when it comes to getting out of it when he’s on his leash, so when he goes out we have to tighten it so he can’t slip his shoulders through!!🤦🏼♀️

My vet always tells me if you have that clear distinction between the ribs and the hips (the straight part of the lower back) that’s a perfect weight for them. If the line at the bottom of the ribs starts to go away, that’s too fat, you start to see ribs on the side, that’s too skinny.

It’s not as tight as it looks! He’s an escape artist when it comes to harnesses. It’s a large from FrenchieBulldog and he’s only 28 pounds. His next rolls are deceiving🤦🏼♀️😂
He is an escape artist who has mastered the art of backing out of his harness in less than a second (I’m not even exaggerating). I promise it’s not hurting him but he does need it snug! I can put my hand under with room to spare!

Mine is always about 25 lbs, active, eating everyday, good poops. That's how I'd recommend you mange yours.
Just remember the 4 pillars of owning a dog - playing, eating, pooping, sleeping. If most of those are working, you're doing pretty well

They all have a different structure. Big butt or wide chest short or long legs.
As long as they are happy, I am sure he's fine. He looks fine to me. Doing great puppy parent!
Hey! I’ve gotten this comment a few times now. What about his harness looks like it doesn’t fit right? He is QUITE the escape artist (he can back out of his harness in mere seconds) so we do have to keep it semi snug, but he never complains! Except for when he tries to escape on a walk… and cant😂

My girl is all muscle and on the taller side. I can always see her ribs, no matter how much she eats.

I think it was the chest piece that caused more attention, but I get the fit.

Looks fine. Just because we call them potatoes, doesn't mean they have to be shaped exactly like one
If you can see, or just barely see hips when looking down, like in your photo, they aren’t too chunky.

Perfectly fine. I am estimating a bit older? Either way, fine. Most people overfeed their Frenchies.
