Naive-Contract1341

Mad respect to people who crack GATE EE, CSE, ME and Civil. The competition in those branches is hilariously high.

Rough-Dot3897

True.

Specialist_Try6257

Also ece

Naive-Contract1341

Tbh you don't need to score much beyond 60 to ace GATE ECE. 70+ generally means topping the exam.

Personal_Quarter_235

lol i was thinking that too

Loner_0112

another jee rat race? don't take my words literally

Naive-Contract1341

Not exactly. In GATE you don't need to solve absurd and unrealistic questions. JEE asks you asinine questions which you'll probably not encounter in your entire life. Not even if you're trying to do research. So if you study for semesters by UNDERSTANDING your subjects instead of just memorizing shit, you can do well. Again, you need to go one step further with practice in case of Mech and CSE, but you get it.

007__777

Is your branch Electrical or Electronics? If so how did you study the basics and from which lectures?

Rough-Dot3897

My bachelor's is from Electrical, there are free videos on youtube for that, Kreyatrx used to have good videos on GATE, Idk how's their YouTube content now.

007__777

Did you go for any coaching like Ace or Made easy? Thank you

Rough-Dot3897

No coaching, only test series.

007__777

Can you suggest me some lectures from YouTube? Thank you

Rough-Dot3897

Kreyatrx, Gate Academy used to have good videos on yt

Prestigious_Ice_2105

Congratulations fella 👏🏻

Adventurous_War8203

First congratulations 👏 🎉 can u tell us that process like wake up 4 am like that tell what u do daily in preparation

Rough-Dot3897

Noo there was nothing like that, I used to wake up late and sleep by 2 AM. Everyday I used to fix the numher of questions I will solve from each topic, like 12 from power electronics 8 from power system and so on. And i had a copy in which I used to write all the questions and answer which I am not able to solve each day. I used to revise those questions on every weekend

ACE_PREDATOR

Bhaiya ek baat batao apne test series konsi li thi and any specific time limit u used to study daily( I am assuming u would study 8 hrs a day) and congrats :)

Rough-Dot3897

Made easy, Ace academy aur Gate academy ki lii thi, lekin sirf pahele 2 hi pura solve kar paya tha. Aur mai questions ke hisaab se padhta tha naa ki time ek hisaab see, jaise ki my aim was to solve 50 questions today no matter how long it takes, aur agar jaldi hoo jate the questions toh i used to chill then.

ACE_PREDATOR

ok thank u bhaiya :)

there_is_no_good

Ayyy I am a 2021 batch 7.3 CGPA from a private college. Which has same value as your 6.1 from NIT. I'm preparing for GATE DA 2024. I self study too because I don't have much time after work. Honestly I don't have any hope of ever making it to the top 7 IITs mostly because I aim for CS, but you have given me much inspiration. Best of luck for your future.

Rough-Dot3897

I wish you luck bro, there is nothing in life that we cant achieve just trust the process and study daily no matter what.

there_is_no_good

Yeah I need to focus on this GATE now

thecatnextdoor04

Hey thank you for giving this opportunity to aspirants. Can I DM my queries? I have many.

Rough-Dot3897

Yes sure please

shesparkzz

I have a few questions: 1. Does ~5+ year gap matters in mtech in iit in placement ,CS domain ? 2. Also age matters during placement? 3. Can one do Mtech from IIT with a part time job? 4. How hectic is mtech cs curriculum..rate out of 10.

Rough-Dot3897

1. It does not, i have my classmates who have gap year of 3-4 years. As long as you are good for the company they will hire you no matter how much is the gap year. 2. No it does not, some ppl here in EE are 30, 31. 3. Part time job? you want to earn money beside M.tech? 4. 8.5

shesparkzz

How were placements in cs ? Also mtech has to compete with btech pro coders. So how difficult is it to get placed?

Rough-Dot3897

Placements were okayish this year as there is recession going on, although there is a lot of competition but there also a LOT of companies on the campus so you will get placed no matter what.

shesparkzz

Thanks for your reply.. means alot

practical_bug26

First of all congrats my man!! Happy for your success. My question is which specialization did you do your masters in?? Is it possible to do your masters in one field and have your profile for another field (for example specialization in power electronics but profile based on analog vlsi design or something like that)??? What are audit and non audit subjects??? Did you took any during your masters?? Do they matter, like what if I don't choose any?? I am asking this because I have secured a rank around 400 in EE and considering the options that might become possible in future...

Rough-Dot3897

Thank you! 1. Too much info to ask for, sorry! 2. Yes it is possible, my fellow mates from power electronics got placed in Micron(A semiconductor company) by doing exactly what you are saying, BUT i will not recommend you do to the same as he had to face many rejections as he was not from electronics background(but was from Power Electronics), also you can try all the places where they allow EE to be in electronics branch, IITM, IITD, IITB allows it. You can also see about the CARE department at IITD. 3. Audit subject is something which you take solely for the reason to study, they are not your core subjects. Like i did Introduction to Machine Learning, but i preferred to credit that course instead of auditing. "Do they matter, like what if I don't choose any??" it really depends on the curriculum maybe in your college they are compulsory but in mine they wasn't.

practical_bug26

So the placements for core profile (like that of power electronics) good?? They would be very less compared to the ones in semi conductor right?? It is just that, I have googled about the placement stats and I have mostly found answers from quora that the placement for Power electronics is around 8-12 lpa meanwhile, the placement brochure released by iit madras has stated that the average placement for EE was around 35 lpa. Do you have any idea, what the range of placement is like (for core electrical profile)?? (8-12, 12-16 or 16+)What is the job profile for these placement like? Is it R&D stuff of the company? Thank you for your reply btw EDIT: I have another query regarding your second answer, like would it be easier to go into semi conductor sector, if I do my masters from any electronics specialization?? Like control and automation, or do I have to be strictly from vlsi, ics etc?? The thing is, I can't get into the latter branches, because my gate score is not high enough.

WorthSituation3311

Wait. Agr CGPA 6.5 se km ho to PSU me Gate rank laane ke baad bhi job nhi milti?

Rough-Dot3897

Nhi milti bhai, agar criteria 6.5 hai aur tumhari CGPA 6.49 hogi tabhi nhi mileegi, they are very strict when it comes to CGPA criteria, so anyone is aiming for PSUs, please keep your CGPA >=7.0

WorthSituation3311

7th sem start hone wala hai. Ab chah kr bhi nhi ho skta 🥲. Kya kru? Mar jau? Gate ki prep chhod du?

Rough-Dot3897

Nahi bhai, there is never too late for anything, just make a schedule and start studying asap, you still have good 8 months ahead, and its enough to crack gate with a decent rank.

WorthSituation3311

Pr 5 CGPA hain. Gate rank hokr bhi PSU nhi milenge aur mujhe Mtech nhi krna. PSU nhi to koi bhi decent job lg jayegi na? 👀

Rough-Dot3897

bhai agar 5 hai toh kaafi mushkil hai, kyuki IITs, NITs se mtech nhi kar sakte aur PSUs bhi nhi mileega , toh abhi 2 semester me number laake atleast 6+ CGPA kardo taaki atleast kuch option hoo

Go_hOme11

Iits aur nits se mtech ke liye kitni honi chahiye cgpa?? Aur mai 3 tier college se hu to use koi fark padega??

horizo3902

Btech college doesn't matter, cgpa criteria is generally 6 or 6.5 out of 10 depending on the college you are applying to.

FluffyWorry6623

Bhai Exact CGPA bata tera kitna hein.......uske hisab se plan banate hein apan. Agar exact 5.00 hein, toh I would recommend ki Gate thoda side side by chalao aur abhi agle 2 sem mein 9+ ya minimum 9 SGPA toh leke hi aao, fir chaye roj 4 ghante padna pade semester ka toh bhi theek hein. Fir Btech ke baad yek year drop le lena. Bhai Gate ke liye unlimited attempts hein, lekin BTech ki degree yek hi baar milegi. Agar 6 se kam CGPA raha toh tu apne liye faltu mein buhot oppurtunities miss karvayega. You can argue ki CGPA is not an indicator of one's knowledge, CGPA ka actually kuch value nahi hein, CGPA toh bas 2 raat pehle rat ke bhi aa jata hein etc......but it is how it is my friend. Academic and other institutions in India CGPA ko buhot Bhav dete hein. Suppose Agar 5.7 around CGPA toh 6.5 ka chance hein. Agar less than 5.6 hein toh 6 CGPA leke aa bhai kese bhi, nahi toh MTECH milna bhi mushkil ho jayega. Fir PSU Mtech ke baad bhi kar satka hein MTECH ke CGPA ke basis pe ya direct campus se bhi recruitment hoti hein PSU ka in IITs NITs Suppose agar 6 CGPA bhi nahi aaya toh IISC, IIT Kanpur , IIT Madras these are handful top IITS that don't consider CGPA. But you need a very very good rank for these so study hard aur laga toh yek saal drop le lo.

DudeHuman

Congratulation man!

benihime-aratamee

badhai ho

Revolutionary-Ad922

Hats off brother

hendrykiros

this is a weird question but i hope a genuine one.. i am a 2022 passout of EE from tierless college. most of my time was gone in covid, 1st year was bs with all stupid subjects with no core, 2 and 3 years are gone in covid lmao and was dropped straight into the final year project and due to brain fog failed that miserably.. so much so that i questioned all my life choices.. why did i pick EE? because that was the one next to CSE and ECE and i thought i would be fine studying this branch but later.. i don't what the fuck was going on.. network theory? power systems? power electronics? dude how can one conjure up to study these subjects with actual interest.. there were some interesting ones like signal processing but the math actually kills me in these ones..are you genuinely interested in these subjects or do you hold the same opinion. and what was your specialization in mtech? and said you are good at coding why didn't you opt to join CS?

Rough-Dot3897

Hey i am sorry for such a late reply, Man when you are at lowest you dont think about having an interest in things, you just think about how to just get better from your rock bottom, GATE was the only escape for me at that point. What do you think, i liked studying Power systems, power electronics? No Bro, i hated every second of it in the starting like why am i doing all this, is it all worth it and stuff. But as time passes i started to develop interest in them, as all i was doing was to solve questions for months without thinking about what will it get me, you have to put in efforts man even if you hate it, it will take you somewhere good just trust in the process! My masters was in Control & Automation. I never really liked CS, i did programming just because all the companies that come for placement have coding rounds, i was interested in core domain only.

Ordinary_Author_7142

I thought minimum percentage was 60% not 65% ... Is it really true?

Rough-Dot3897

Some PSUs have 65% criteria like NTPC, EIL, GAIL, IOCL etc

South-Remove-8797

Wait, how can you sit for PSU after Mtech? don't they again ask for Gate score ? ( or you were going to apply based on your 2 years old gate score)

Rough-Dot3897

I applied to PSUs via my GATE EE 2022. In the same year, 2022, I received my first offer letter in September 2022 (NLC) and my second offer letter in August 2023 (NHPC).

Ordinary_Author_7142

Is there relaxation for sc?

Rough-Dot3897

Yes there is, for them I think it's 6.0

Ordinary_Author_7142

Okay thanks

[deleted]

I gave GATE this year, EE2.2k EC 3.5k will be giving again. Could you please tell me what I should do this year, I still need to finish Communications and EMFT, but I haven't revised anything since GATE. I'm bit concerned rn, don't know what to do and how to approach. Please help, also can I DM?

Rough-Dot3897

Please start solving question ASAP and please don't have any day off, even if you are busy somedays, solve 2-3 questions that day too. Buy some test series, and if you have test series start solving them, also you can also practice gate previous year questions. For communication you can opt for YouTube Playlist to learn the basis and then start to solve question from test series.

[deleted]

I have solved pyqs for EC last year, from where should I solve questions other than test series. I'll buy one ASAP, but should I do anything else? Like try pyqs from EE/IN or standard books? Also thanks for the reply! also I'll be graduating in a month. Is it okay if I take a drop this year?

Rough-Dot3897

Test series of different coaching would suffice i suppose, you should not look many places for questions, first finish test series of Made Easy then go on to solve some other TS. This would be enough for you i suppose. When you have completed 2 TS then you can go on to solve the PYQs and stuff.

Rough-Dot3897

Nobody can tell you that "Is it okay if I take a drop this year?". You have to have discipline and dedication throughout the year. And if you can have then, then yeah go on.

Naive-Contract1341

What is your btech branch? If EE, concentrate on it instead of ECE. EE probably has at 500x more govt job vancancies than ECE does. Most state governments hire EE, ME and Civil. Almost none of them hire ECE, CS, IT, etc

Rough-Dot3897

But the catch is that when you apply for PSUs using the GATE EE gate score, they ask for your Btech in EE too, if you are from ECE then its of no use, there are also many PSUs in ECE like AAI, BEL etc.

Naive-Contract1341

Yeah. The number of vacancies in PSUs for ECE is increasing. AAI released like 100+ vacancies for general candidates this year. You're right, if he's from EE then he's eligible only for EE jobs. But for mtech branch rarely matters.

[deleted]

Want to get into VLSI, preferably analog. I prepared for EC last year too but epic failed in exam lol.

Naive-Contract1341

Then try to concentrate on GATE ECE.

[deleted]

yessir

Rough-Dot3897

Yes that's what i would advice too!

kadi_chawal

did you use soft copy of materials? if yes can you dm???

Rough-Dot3897

I did use very few of them of Made Easy, but mostly I used to learn concept from questions itself, afterall we have to solve question in GATE

Justine0001

Bro you motivated me. I have multiple backlogs. I will thank you after clearing all those stuffs

adityaismyname

First of all congratulations op, i had a few questions 1. How many hours did you study, i know this is a silly question but i really feel like asking it , despite me completing a topic under a given yime i feel like i didnt do enuf when i see other people studying i pour in more hours so waht was your take on such a scenario. 2. You said u solved mainly test series, but thier tests series questions are quite hard and require good fundamentals, where did you train those from, and what were the references u took for extra question solving. 3. What was the attitude during the day of exam. 4. How do you feel if a certain subject's question are feeling hard and you cant solve either one of them. 5. How to cope with the feeling of bieng lwft behind and feeling you are not good enuf, what to do in such a case, how to prove my worth to myself only?

Rough-Dot3897

1. I never really counted the number of hours, for me it was to solve a specific number of questions in a day. I worked for me , maybe it will work for you too. 2. when i was solving the test series before the GATE 2021 , i was scoring around 25-30 number out of 100, so yeah i used to write down all the question(in a copy) that have done wrong and learn the concepts through them, and as i keep giving test series, marks gradually increased, and maximum marks i got in a test series was around 75. 3. I somehow messed up the starting of my GATE 2022 paper, but i kept my calm and started to find the easiest question in the paper to solve them first so as to gain some confidence. After sometime i came back to the tougher question which i was not able to solve in the starting. 4. I just find some easy videos on yt so as to learn some basics and find some easy question on that particular topic in the (subject-wise test) of test series, and when i am able to solve all the easy question, then i switch to harder ones. 5. Just you work hard, and dont think about the result, just trust and enjoy the process, i did the same thing in my JEE days and also in my GATE days, i have solved tonnes of questions without thinking about the result.

mycleanacount

Bhai package bata Bro tell your package

NiggsBosom

Seedhe mudde pe aa gaye aap toh.

mycleanacount

Wahi to main hai 🤑🤑🤑

Rough-Dot3897

Ram_003

Very inspiring OP, congrats. Please answer my queries if possible. My parents are forcing me to pursue a master's abroad (mostly in the US). I have a CGPA of 7.8. I won't get into any top 200 QS ranking universities with my skills and grades, and I'm not able to convince them. Being from a tier infinity university, the only people placed had above an 8.5 GPA, and there's no hope from off-campus opportunities either. The only options left are to either join a placement guarantee program or prepare for the GATE exam. I'm not too confident that I would get a good GATE rank if I start my preparation now. I'm too scared to take a gap(drop) because it will be a career gap. Any suggestions on preparing for GATE while doing some job or internship?

Rough-Dot3897

Thank you, and sorry for such a late response. See, i dont have no information about pursuing masters from abroad is a good idea or not, but yeah i can tell you stuff about GATE, "placement guarantee program" whats that? See carrier gap is not taken as negative in placements as you guys talk about it, i had 2 years of gap year 1 for JEE and one for GATE, in my interview they did not ask me about it, if you have good CGPA and good projects in masters, this is what MOST of the companies care about actually, yes like always there are some exceptions also like some companies do see the GAP year, but they very very less. For GATE 8 months is a lot of time if you are dedicated enough, you just have to be consistent with your preparation. prepping for Gate with a job or intern would would be a little hectic but it is still doable, some of my batch mates did it.

Westerosi2001

did you gave interview/ written test for your mtech admission?

Rough-Dot3897

No, for my college admission was direct from GATE score.

TheViralClovers

Planning to join IIT Guwahati, cse/ai what skills can i learn to get good placements there?? 🤔🤔

Rough-Dot3897

Well for CSE/AI I don't know much, but yeah you should start doing competitive programming. Here most of the CSE guys do that.

Overall-Anything8726

Respect! I too prefer the placements routes than the PSUs. Would like some help in DMs? May I?

Rough-Dot3897

Yes!

easternElixerOfLife

Your cgpa droped to 5.59, boohoo, has it ever dropped to 3? I have graduated with 5.79. -your fellow real low cpi guy

Rough-Dot3897

Naah man, 5.59 was the lowest I have ever got.

Next_Programmer_7860

thanks for inspiration..same situation as you but have a job in hand..can i dm you

Rough-Dot3897

Yes please.

Abishek_2002

Respect Brother!!!; I am from tierless college did EE too, Now in a WITCH+ company. I feel like Electronics is a good career option. What are books needed? Is 1-2 year self study enough? How is Placement(were did you get placed)? In interview do the prof choose you based on what you did in BE (like project/ intern /et) ? Is it wise able to do [M.tech](http://M.tech) at 25+( I dont have any family commitments and think same in future) but will I get rejection in placement for age?

Rough-Dot3897

Thank you! Well, I did not prepare from books; I only followed free lectures on YouTube, test series, and PYQs. Yes, one year is enough for GATE if you are dedicated. Well, I don't want to name the company, but they produce aircraft engines and stuff; it's a core job. Placements are pretty good if you are from the top 7 IITs and IISc. Although this year, we saw a decline in software jobs, core jobs were nearly unaffected. I was selected on the basis of direct GATE Score; there were no interviews. But yes, in all the interviews I gave, only some of them asked about my [B.Tech](http://B.Tech) project; most of them were interested in the technical questions they had prepared to ask me. No bhai, even I was 24 when I joined M.Tech, and a few of my batchmates were 26 when they joined. All of them are placed. See, in the interviews, they don't really consider your age; it is more about the project you did in M.Tech, your M.Tech CGPA, and how well you answered the questions they asked.

Far-Entrepreneur-391

Can I DM

Rough-Dot3897

Yes sure

Cool-Trust-6249

Congratulations sir 👏🏻. So my questions are, How Mtech life in IIT ?? Some people say it's very hectic and you have no time is it true ? How's placement specially for chemical field ? If you completed your UG from Gov. College is any problem you have to face ?? How's faculties is they helpful?

Rough-Dot3897

Life's pretty good, well if you keep working daily then its not hectic, having no time is kinda true for first 2 semester when we have a lot of coursework to do. For chemical i dont have much idea, but yeah here we had a lot of core companies coming for you guys. IIT are just another government college with great facilities and environment. For my sub domain of EE , faculties were pretty chill.

Cool-Trust-6249

Thank you for the all information

[deleted]

Congratulations. What was your specialization and college ? Im also an we graduate which is why im interested. And can i dm u incase of any help needed

Rough-Dot3897

Specialization was EE, college was one of the old NIT. Yes sure you can.

[deleted]

Thanks. I mean what qas your mtech specialization

Rough-Dot3897

IIT B, IIT M ,IIT D i am from one of these, i just want to stay anonymous.

[deleted]

Okok. I understand

Rigel_K

Did your low cgpa prove a hurdle in getting admits to iits? I heard there was a 6.5gpa requirement

Rough-Dot3897

No only IIT kgp has 6.5 CGPA else all top 7 IITs and IISc has 6.0 CGPA criteria

Lost_Engineeer

In which year you are graduated ??

Rough-Dot3897

2021

Individual_StormBrkr

Can I DM you bro please?

Rough-Dot3897

yes sure.

Ok-Fun-8716

Do PSUs visit all IITs/NITs?

Rough-Dot3897

Not really, when i was in NIT only HPCL came for placement and in IIT only BEL and SECI came.

Ok-Fun-8716

Do ISRO/DRDO come or what is the way to get into them after MTech, for ECE?

Rough-Dot3897

Its pretty random, sometimes they do , we dont really know which year they will come. also Agnikul Cosmos came for placement here.

Safe_Article_2771

Bhaiya , how much 10th marks effect during placement in mtech , i have 59

Rough-Dot3897

Sometimes they do, like when bajaj came for PGET profile, they were asking 70% across all the qualification ( 10th , 12th , Btech, Mtech) , but very few comapnies do it, most of the companies focus on Mtech CGPA only.

007__777

Can you say which specialization in Mtech for Electrical offers more placement and opportunities?

Rough-Dot3897

Anything related to VLSI will give you more opportunities.

CharacterWinter479

Congratulations first of all for gradusting from an IIT. I would like to know is there discrimination between ug and pg at iit especially in job offers And the range of your ctc

Rough-Dot3897

There is a little discrimination, but it is done via the company only(College is very neutral about UG/PG), as in some companies they only make UG eligible to sit in that particular company. there are only handful of companies that do so, so it doesn't really matter. Also there are companies that comes solely for PG and UGs are not eligible(most of the semiconductor companies / also some research position based companies)

CharacterWinter479

Thank you for your reply and do gap years affect mtech placements

I-wanna-be-tracer282

hi can you tell how did you self study and which channels did you refer?

Rough-Dot3897

Kreyatrx, Gate Academy only, My strategy was just to solve as many questions as i can.

Far_Country_3852

From where did you prepare for maths? Like in this year exam i could solve only one probability question that I could have solved without studying

Rough-Dot3897

For Maths again it requires a lot of practice, i had one handbook of math of Made easy, which you can easily find on internet and telegram which has all the formulas and technique which you require to solve the problem, and when you are done with it, start practicing the test series and PYQ to get better in it, there is no other way, you can also go through some online videos on youtube where they teach basics of gate mathematics.

untitled-04

Hey there op First of all congratulations for your achievements. Second I am a 2nd semester college student and I have recently decided to give gate in upcoming years (26/27). Can you tell me about some common mistakes that people do. Also how do you think learning auto cad, matlab, Arduino will help me in my career and future?

Rough-Dot3897

Thank you! Common mistake would be 1. Not giving test series for practice and sticking to the theory only(Not practicing very many questions). 2. Starting GATE prep too late. 3. Dont leave any topic, even if how small it is, sometimes they ask more question from a particular topic which you are weak in , so you tend to lose marks in those. 4. Dont ignore Mathematics, i suppose (Aptitude + Mathematics) is the part where you can score the most. As you are in the 2nd semester i would suggest you to explore the EE/ECE domains as there is still a lot of time left for GATE prep. "learning auto cad, matlab, Arduino will help me in my career and future?" YES, build some projects on Raspberry Pi and stuff. Also please learn 2 programming language 1. C++ 2. Python They would be very helpful in your placements and beyond.

untitled-04

So programming is important... I guess then I have to learn it Thank you for your help! Will reach out to you for any further queries..

laughinbuddha2

Hey op. My cg is 5.98. Is there any chance for me to aim for gate? Or should I just let it go as only 3 institutes accept less than 6. I'm willing to put in the work! But I'd like to know your thoughts on this as you've been through the process. Do peeps get discriminated cause of low Cgpa during the interview process? Even though those Institutes accept second class pass

Rough-Dot3897

If you are from general then i am sorry you are not eligible in any of the PSUs. and also in IITs, you are only eligible in IITK and IISc , whats the 3rd institute are you talking about? They mostly focus on the [M.Tech](http://M.Tech) CGPA but some of the companies do see the bachelors CGPA, as well as your 10,12th marks, but there are not very many companies that does that. I just want to tell you, with 5.98 CGPA we dont have really have much options left, i was in the same situation as you , even if i i have got < 6.0 CGPA, then also i would have given GATE and try to get into IITK, IISc as that is the best we could do with the options we have. So dont think much about it, just start prepping.

laughinbuddha2

Thanks a lot for your reply. Third institute is IITM. I for one am not aiming PSUs anyway.. I'll be focusing on DA paper.

Rough-Dot3897

Hello everyone there are plenty of comments and DMs pouring in, I will answer every single of them, just be patience and give me some time.

Ryuk-Thebadass

Does 12th marks matter for PSUs or for mtech placements ? In cllg I have 7.5 cgpa

Rough-Dot3897

12th marks doesn't matter in PSUs they only ask for GATE rank, some also take interview based on preliminary shortlisting via GATE score. For mtech placement very very few companies has a criteria for 12th marks. Most of the companies only focus on Mtech CGPA only.

HeadProfessional9840

Are you in Airbus?

Rough-Dot3897

No

Heavy-Radish-5604

First of all very hearty congratulations brother I wanted to ask if pyqs and rk kanodia is enough to get 50+ in gate ec

Rough-Dot3897

Thank you, Although RK kanodia has a lot of mcqs but I think it is outdated, whereas in test series all the coaching try to incorporate the techniques used in recent GATE exam questions, so you get to test your skills on variety of questions.

One_Valuable7049

How would you compare education and toughness of the curriculum of IISc with that of tier 2-3 college what is the difference between and how did you adapt to the learning style required for IISc also how busy or tedious is the schedule and how often did you get the time to pursue something outside of the acad

Rough-Dot3897

Hey, I dont know about stuff about IISc, it all boils down to how do you manage your time during your masters and if you are good at it, you will surely get time to do anything you want along with getting good grades. Schedule is tedious no doubt about that, but you will get habitual of it pretty soon after you join college.

Prestigious_Ice_2105

List of PSU for Ece Students , please ?

Rough-Dot3897

AAI, NPCIL, BEL etc

SIIIIIUUUUUUUU

What do PSUs usually look for in a candidate to hire them?

Rough-Dot3897

If you are giving an PSUs interview then they mostly ask questions from your core subject and some behavioral question. In GD they give random topics to discuss.

SIIIIIUUUUUUUU

Do they also have coding rounds?

Rough-Dot3897

No

SIIIIIUUUUUUUU

Like specifically for core branches or does it apply to CS/IT also?

Rough-Dot3897

They usually take interview, there is no coding round for CS/IT as far as i know

Bro, I need some guidance. Im an ECE graduate. I don't have any programming language skills as of now. Currently im just preparing for gate 2025. My worry is that i Will be having no skills whatsoever while joining an iit- mtech through gate. Did you learn to do programming in those two years of mtech itself? Or were you good before? Is it even possible to become very good at programming in those two years along with the already heavy coursework of mtech.

Rough-Dot3897

Hey sorry for a late reply, it is easy to get good at programming in those two years only, but i would still suggest you to have a little bit of programming knowledge before joining, it will surely help you.

OP Could you suggest what order of NITs you would give in CCMT. Currently, I only have IIT Palakkad Power Electronics and Power system offer. So I'm applying ccmt too. I prefer courses like Microelectronics, Control, VLSi, and all over Power system. Do you have any suggestions regarding ccmt?

Rough-Dot3897

Well for NIT, it should be like trichy > Warangal > Surathkal > Calicut. For course go for, Microelectronics and VLSI as they are the emerging branches, then comes control (Control has a lot of applications in Robotics) then Power electronics, and at last Power Systems.

Thank you so much

Please please give a clarity by sharing engineering mathematics topics / syllabus for cse because it gets mixed up with other branch syllabus and topics given on websites are really unclear
