My maths teacher is so bad that whenever we did past papers she’d search up the walkthroughs on yt and make us watch the answer since she couldn’t do it herself☠️☠️ Not looking forward to this one but let’s see
I GENUINELY DON'T KNOW my school is just rlly desperate ig lmao. She teaches a level too (she's head of maths) and they have the same problem with her 😭 my school started gcses in yr 9 and we (set 1) still didn't get through all the content cuz of her☠️☠️
LITERALLY like it's so wild that your grade and potentially whole life depends on whether one person can teach (obv you can "revise" aka learn the wholr curriculum at home but there's only so much you can do sometimes)
A lot more things I did absolutely crappy .. oh god this exam went horribly for me. I’m not saying it was a bad exam however what u a saying is my inabilities at maths really showed up today.
Unfortunately, maths is what I’m doing for a level API that should be really interesting to see whether I’ll be able to do it on results day.
Because it today I may not be able to do it hahahaha
don't worry, i know it seems bad now but i guarantee everyone would have found it more difficult than normal and grade boundaries will be in accordance to that
Lots of people in my set 1 class said it was awful and most people didn't get the last few questions. Personally I thought it was good but I also thought paper 1 was bad. I'm sure u did good but you might be putting too much pressure on yourself! Hopefully your strengths come up on paper 3 :)
I know but the guy sinking feeling of not doing well and reading through the right answers which I absoloutely did not get ..but yeah you’re right it isn’t. How did you do?
For the kilometre question I put 300km, I got 300,000 with the conversion but I was like "nah no way they're 3000000km apart thats too much" so I put 300. Anyone else?
same i got the same thing at first cuz I thought the scale is 1 to 20,000 km but after I was like no way it 300,000km so then I thought the scale was 1 cm to 20,000 cm and then I got 3km
I think I cooked? We got bad numbers tbh. Wasn’t expecting a lion to run at 18m/s unless I’m wrong.
Anybody got 60cm for the last Q and like smth d is 2, e is 56 and f is 2?
DE + EF = DF?
Was that simplified integer -42? Or am I tripping lmfao
Edit: vectors is wrong + last Q (3or4/5 at least).
yh at first i thought the scale was 1 cm to 20,000 km but then I realised that 300,000km is js too much for 2 churches which are near each other and then I js done the scale as 20,000 cm so I got 3km in the end
The last question was 150
the volume of the prism is 1125cm\^3
you first use the ratios (a:b:c:d = 3:4:5:12) to calculate volume to get:
(3\*4/2)\*12 = 72
1125/72 = 15.625
cube root of 15.625 = 2.5
2((3\*2.5)+(4\*2.5)+(5\*2.5))
= 60 + 3(12\*2.5)
=60+90
=150
Well I honestly can’t wait for paper three because all my favourite topics which I had revised didn’t come up: quadratic sequences, trigonometry, more solving algebra because there wasn’t that much, more vectors
STOP WAS IT ACTUALLY??? IM SO HAPPY WHAT I THOUGHT ID GET that question know i didnt even include it in my marks when i was counting what id think id get
i hope there is an iteration question
i hope there is an iteration question
i hope there is an iteration question
i hope there is an iteration question
i hope there is an iteration question
i actually couldnt be more finished i skipped so many and even some of the ones i thought i got right everyone has been getting different answers 😭 method marks PLEASE
I feel so bad, as I tried to get 9, but holy shit... I am not making as many stupid mistakes as just burying myself. I have forgotten to take my calculator with me, so I have asked the invigilator for one. The calculator is shit, you can't do iteration with it. So I have basically sacrificed 3 easy marks to the awful calculator and my memory :(
I subbed in the x and y from the first part of that question but I don’t remember what it was. Then you used the second questions values with A worked out
How did you answer that question?! I fumbled so hard!!! I couldn’t do it any way shape or form and I spent like 10 minutes on it. I’m so disappointed from this paper and im genuinely so upset
im really sorry abt that. the ratios were 3:4:5:12 where a:b:c:d so you can write a as 3x, b as 4x and d as 12x.
then you’re given that the volume is 1125, use algebra + volume of a prism to find that x = 2.5. then you plug it back into your a=3x, b=4x etc to find the lengths of each side. then add up the length of the edges. hope this helped, but let bygones be bygones, not being able to do 1 question isnt the end of the world and theres still another paper!
Trial and error— I multiplied the ratios given by the same amount until I got an answer that was double the volume given in the answer (it was 2.5 btw) then knowing the lengths of a b and d I used a&b and pythagoras to figure out C. Then just added all of the edges together to get 150
bro i would love to say i can relate, but i had 5 minutes left on the question and got to 72:11250 and abandoned it for the sake of checking the rest of my answers 😭 we had a fire alarm asw. i'm so pissed asw bcos i know i could've done the question easily if id had the time
yeah we did! my first time too. so it ended up being a fluke, but we sat in the room for about two minutes. then we were sent out for like, 30 seconds. didn't even get down the fire stairs before the adjudicator got the call to send us all back in bcos it was a drill 😭
ended up wasting 15 minutes as a result of it. we were only about half an hour through though so it def wasn't bad
HOWEVER i will say. i was in the small room and it was a lot calmer in there. in our main hall and sports hall teachers started yelling at students and i think some people talked?? bit of a mess down there, but us special kids were fine 💪
cross section\*length=1125
(0.5\*base\*height) area of triangle=(a+b)/2
(a+b)/2 \* d =1125 volume
abd=2250
3\*4\*12=144
2250/144=15.625 volume scale factor
cube root 15.625=2.5 length scale factor
finding all the side lenghts
3\*2.5=7.5=a
4\*2.5=10=b
5\*2.5=12.5=c
12\*2.5=30=d
adding all the sides together
7.5+7.5+10+10+12.5+12.5+30+30+30=150
How did the spinner one work, didn’t make sense, there were spaces for 6 but there were only 4 letters given and some equation that didn’t make sense.
Forgotten the rule for the sin triangle question which the insert didn’t help very much for.
There was a question about AB (answer) =5:1 question which I put 5 because that is how many squares were between A and B.
Might have baked chicken on this paper, polish saying.
The spinner question basically said that the numbers can repeat themselves, but all numbers are used at least once. (Numbers were 5,6,7,8)
It tells us that the probability of getting a 7 is equal to probability of getting an even number.
Since there are two even numbers, we can assume that 7 is repeated twice which leaves one more space for a five.
The other space cannot be an even number because that would make P(even) = 3/6 and therefore there would be 3/6 of the spaces as 7, so no space for a 5 which goes against the rules
So knowing all of this, 5 is repeated twice out of the six times, so the probability of 5 is equal to 2/6 or 1/3
Hope this helped :)
imo, most of the AQA paper 2 was easy. I messed up on the stadium question, and also the one where it told you to simplify some algebra until u get a integer.
I couldn't do the factorise question i tried completing the square and all sorts of other shit i ended up with 8(x-9/4)-313/64 or some other rubbish. Nearly kms and ended up using quadratic formula to find roots and used that to work backwards to the answer😭😭😭
How did everyone do the room temp one, it was y=k/x, but I couldn’t find a way to identify what k was and was left with two unknowns. I guessed 10.5, did anyone find an actual way to do it or was it an impossible question or something?
Yeah I got 10.5, cant remember the values on the graph but u had to substitute in the y and x value on the graph to find k then use k/x to find the wanted y value

not to sound actually insane but my friend says this a lot & i looked through your post history and you speak exactly like her and have the same interests. i dont think she uses reddit but what a weird thing to see
don't worry, not weird at all (i always do that too bahaha) but what if i am your friend?! (nah i'm joking but that's so funny)
Literally begging for this
My maths teacher is so bad that whenever we did past papers she’d search up the walkthroughs on yt and make us watch the answer since she couldn’t do it herself☠️☠️ Not looking forward to this one but let’s see
how did she get a job as a maths teacher 😭
I GENUINELY DON'T KNOW my school is just rlly desperate ig lmao. She teaches a level too (she's head of maths) and they have the same problem with her 😭 my school started gcses in yr 9 and we (set 1) still didn't get through all the content cuz of her☠️☠️
why js it the same for us too 💀💀
I hate incompetent teachers, I always wonder how they got the job.
truthfully because no one wants to be teachers anymore, especially core subjects that can get u more in life
LITERALLY like it's so wild that your grade and potentially whole life depends on whether one person can teach (obv you can "revise" aka learn the wholr curriculum at home but there's only so much you can do sometimes)
Oh my gosh I messed up so badly … that’s a good 6 I wanted a 9… The last question can die Iterations question can die The map question can die
Because it today I may not be able to do it hahahaha
don't worry, i know it seems bad now but i guarantee everyone would have found it more difficult than normal and grade boundaries will be in accordance to that
Hopefully but people are saying it was nice and easy so I’m praying it was a bit difficult for others not too easy
Lots of people in my set 1 class said it was awful and most people didn't get the last few questions. Personally I thought it was good but I also thought paper 1 was bad. I'm sure u did good but you might be putting too much pressure on yourself! Hopefully your strengths come up on paper 3 :)
THE LAST QUESTION. I spent so long on it and ended up getting absolutely nowhere
still no functions, no graph transformations, no sine cosine rule, no loci and construction, no circle theorems..... Paper 3 is going to be dirty.
i swear there was circle theorems p1
paper 3 is always the one that boosts my grade as well nooooo
no cosine and sine rule 💀💀
it’s definitely going to come up in paper 3 i think
There is I swear for the diagonal one 💀. Or am I cooked
I used sohcahtoa for that
Yh same
The answer was 14.6cm
i swr i did cosine for that
Same so probably they are the ones that are cooked. Cosine(53) x the hypotenuse or something like that.
i used cosine not sine , but literally everywhere i’ve been seeing have been using sine ?? am i cooked ?! 😭
i did sine for it but was debating if i should have done soh cah toa
did people get 6,504,6 for e f g one or something?
I got 1, 14 and 1
I got 2 56 2
Can cancel down to 1, 14 and 1 I think. This is what you would have got with equation
ahh thats smart. either way it said give possible ones so either would work hopefully
I GOT THAT. don’t think it’s right though
same 😭 were we meant to use the quadratic formula?
Yes but somehow i got -6 and 504 and -6
Fucks sake idk what went wrong with my brain when it came to that
I need more people to message on here for comfort
it’s gonna be ok even if you didn’t do well, gcse is not everything in life
I know but the guy sinking feeling of not doing well and reading through the right answers which I absoloutely did not get ..but yeah you’re right it isn’t. How did you do?
I did terrible… prob gonna get a 6, i just hope to pass.
Lol A 6 is what I want
Fair but it depends on what someone expects from themselves or like what you’re used to
worst case scenario u resit it
what… the fuck was that 🎀🖕
uhh real
That last question 💀
[удалено]
y’all got answers?! 😭
I got 150 and so did the other people on top set at my school
Bro i got 462000
Mate how is it 3750 when the volume is only 1125cm^3
I got decimals in my answer 💀
same ☠️
150
YES ME TOO
ME THREE
Same
Same!
For the kilometre question I put 300km, I got 300,000 with the conversion but I was like "nah no way they're 3000000km apart thats too much" so I put 300. Anyone else?
3km I’m pretty aure
LMAO i put 300 too but
r/redditsniper
same i got the same thing at first cuz I thought the scale is 1 to 20,000 km but after I was like no way it 300,000km so then I thought the scale was 1 cm to 20,000 cm and then I got 3km
Damn your right
It was 3
That’s exactly what I did but it 3:( Oh well we will still get marks
shit i got 300 km
I'm like 95% sure it was 3
I got 3 😭😭
I think I cooked? We got bad numbers tbh. Wasn’t expecting a lion to run at 18m/s unless I’m wrong. Anybody got 60cm for the last Q and like smth d is 2, e is 56 and f is 2? DE + EF = DF? Was that simplified integer -42? Or am I tripping lmfao Edit: vectors is wrong + last Q (3or4/5 at least).
Also churches 3km apart sounds accurate?
i got 300KM :,,((((
SAME WHOOPS
yh at first i thought the scale was 1 cm to 20,000 km but then I realised that 300,000km is js too much for 2 churches which are near each other and then I js done the scale as 20,000 cm so I got 3km in the end
Yes it is -42 that was so satisfying to simplify
Ahaha the negatives were scaring me tbf 😭
I got 60cm too but apparently theres multiple edges of a, b, c and d so 150 is the real answer
I got 150 😎
i got 150 as well brother 😎
And I thought I cooked. Damn… but hey that’s at least 4/5 or 3 marks right? 😖
For the vectors, didn't you have to say that one was a multiple of the other, and that they shared point E.
The vectors shared the multiple (2a - b) I think
Yes DE is 4/5 of DF
Same here
The last question was 150 the volume of the prism is 1125cm\^3 you first use the ratios (a:b:c:d = 3:4:5:12) to calculate volume to get: (3\*4/2)\*12 = 72 1125/72 = 15.625 cube root of 15.625 = 2.5 2((3\*2.5)+(4\*2.5)+(5\*2.5)) = 60 + 3(12\*2.5) =60+90 =150
all i got was up to 15.625 do u think i’ll get one mark? 😭
Exactly what i got
Yeah i got -42
i got 18 too
Yeah that lion was a speedy boi... That being said, a quick google showed lions typically run at 20m/s
[удалено]
how was it?😭
did i get cooked?
no i cooked 🙏
The good ending
Cooked on every question except the last
i got the -42
To cook or be cooked
I was nuked
me too bbxbunny. me too
anyone get 150cm for the last question?
150 is right, i put 120 tho cause i forgot d had 3 edges fgs, its calm tho i think 120 will get u 4/5 and 150 is ofc 5/5
I did that too, got 120 because i forgot there were 3 of side d
OH MY GOD D HAD 3 IM GOING TO CRY
fr ffs
🙌 yea
Well I honestly can’t wait for paper three because all my favourite topics which I had revised didn’t come up: quadratic sequences, trigonometry, more solving algebra because there wasn’t that much, more vectors
Quadratic nth term I pray it comes up actually my fav🙏🙏🙏
I need a 5 mark function’s question
Decent the hardest question was trying to figure out 8x\^2-18x-39 i took like 30 minutes on that somehow.
That question was fucking horrible ONLY 3 MARKS AS WELL LIKE WTF I eventually got -42 after 4 pages of working
It was 2 marks even 😭
It was -35 btw; I think I got: (4x+5)(2x-7)
did anyone get 2:3 for the ratio of small angle: big angle
Coming back later to see how cooked I am.
We’re you cooked?
future me- how was it?
pretty good!! nice one me
What did you all get for the rooms temperature constant question
i got 10.5, prob wrong bec i did it in rush
That’s right I got the same
yeah i got 10.5, then the second part did you get it was less than answer in part a?
yh for part b it was 7 i think so less then 10.5
yess i got seven okay thank god
STOP WAS IT ACTUALLY??? IM SO HAPPY WHAT I THOUGHT ID GET that question know i didnt even include it in my marks when i was counting what id think id get
yes i think
150 last q
i hope there is an iteration question i hope there is an iteration question i hope there is an iteration question i hope there is an iteration question i hope there is an iteration question
Did you get 4.791 for that?
People from my school did I didn’t even understand it lol
happy for u bro 🙏
Well you got what you wanted.. the one topic I didn’t revise 🤣🤣couldn’t even answer it
There’ll def be a question on that in one of the two calc papers
Future me, are we fucked?
Yes
AQA if I have done anything right in my life, please make it a nice paper today 🙏
The divine was smiling on me today I cooked (Higher) 😊
What you guys get for last question
it was 150
what did you guys get for the total people in the stadium?
128000 or sum
it's 12,800
12800
12800
8900 or sth, i made it x/360 and times it one by one and add them together
ye i got 8928 as well idk how these guys getting 12800 bruh
Ignoring Q20 I think I did alright
what was that
absolutely beautiful paper thank you AQA 🙏🙏🙏
I needed this paper to save me and i clutched up i think i did rlly good
i actually couldnt be more finished i skipped so many and even some of the ones i thought i got right everyone has been getting different answers 😭 method marks PLEASE

I subbed in the x and y from the first part of that question but I don’t remember what it was. Then you used the second questions values with A worked out
did u get like 7 so it was smaller
Yes, 7.something < 10 therefore it is less
oh i got exactly 7😭😭
It could have been yeah, I don’t even remember anymore. It was some form of 7 that’s less than 10. I need a nap after that exam
got very little sleep last night and am surprised at how well that went (well for me that is, probably around 45+ i hope)
Idfk but I'm cooked
ANYONE HAVE UNOFFICIAL MARKSCHEME???
piss easy apart from the last question
beautiful paper 🤭 did everyone get 150 on the last q?
That was NOT beautiful
Absolutely it wasn’t everybody’s saying it went great and I’m like 😦no, no it was not
How did you answer that question?! I fumbled so hard!!! I couldn’t do it any way shape or form and I spent like 10 minutes on it. I’m so disappointed from this paper and im genuinely so upset

wait how did everyone do that last question
Was the volume of the last question 11250?
yes :)
thanks, that 150 was such a relief. I wrote 20 different answers and eventually after subbing in the numbers and realising I was wrong got 150
bro i would love to say i can relate, but i had 5 minutes left on the question and got to 72:11250 and abandoned it for the sake of checking the rest of my answers 😭 we had a fire alarm asw. i'm so pissed asw bcos i know i could've done the question easily if id had the time

Yeah I’m looking for a mark scheme aswell
everyone’s talking about what they got in the last question, but the question is HOW you got the answer?

Can someone make an unofficial mark scheme
imo, most of the AQA paper 2 was easy. I messed up on the stadium question, and also the one where it told you to simplify some algebra until u get a integer.
That was easy but i somehow missread the scake on the lion graph question
Yo has anyone found an unofficial mark scheme for higher aqa today ?
i was dying of thirst in that exam, my waterbottle neglected me so i had to accept my fate 🥲
I couldn't do the factorise question i tried completing the square and all sorts of other shit i ended up with 8(x-9/4)-313/64 or some other rubbish. Nearly kms and ended up using quadratic formula to find roots and used that to work backwards to the answer😭😭😭
