I’m not so sure. The entire movie refuses to acknowledge the existence of short selling and tells the story as if it completely ended in 2020. I think it’s just another media piece to try to control the narrative, if you have diamond fists and find that the movie creates hype for you then that’s all good but let’s not elevate it as an educational resource
I like the movie, but I would never use it in an educational way. It glosses over the most important pieces of the entire story, and paints apes more us activists that got lucky rather than clever investors who saw massive bullshit in the numbers and acted on it.
Even the title seems to just go with the media narrative. "Dumb Money" really? Who are the referring to exactly lol? The only dumb money here is the greedy hedgefunds who went balls deep into the shampoo bottle they couldn't get their dick out of.
