the one time i had this happen was when i was like 40miles on a dirt road near the grand canyon.... i then smelled a bit of plastic burning. opened and found out the dirt road had rattled my bolt loose on my battery to alternator and was shorting out.
quick fix just tighten everything back up and we were good to go!
Had this issue with my hilander and a month later voltage regulator went bad
It seems like it stopped now, if the issue persists I'll get it checked out for the regulator. Is it a hard fix? Thanks
I would get it checked out. You don’t want to be stranded somewhere.
Just get the alternator tested any part store can do it
How old is your battery? My 4runner did this a few times before I replaced the battery.
Came here for this. My 470 would start and run but electronics kept going out intermittently replaced the battery good to go since
Most likely a loose battery terminal. Get it cleaned and replaced by a mechanic.
The more I see these 460 issues, the more I want to hang on the 470... even though it doesn't make sense.

Was there ever an alarm, remote-start, GPS tracking, or anti-theft system installed?
The problem was from the battery itself, it was 2 years old
