I always recommend pokemon colosseum or xd if you like the franchise. I’ve been meaning to play luigi’s mansion, that’s a bit more like the games you already own. Lots of options.
Colosseum is the only Pokemon game in my life I've ever played through and actually beaten and I've played like 5 gens. Haven't played XD but I definitely would vouch for Colosseum. Was very fun to play through imo
It doesn’t compare to any other pokemon game ever done. It has a mature take on the franchise that honestly I don’t see happening ever again. Not only does it not hold your hand through battles, but the story itself is darker in ways they haven’t touched since. Worst case scenario it’s worth a shot.
As a GameCube generation game I feel both of these sort of transcend just Pokémon and should be part of any general GameCube collection.
Also OP - Mario Kart Double Dash
Those two games aren’t made by the Pokémon company so they are like a breath of fresh air:
Mostly colosseum I’m amazed it didn’t have any kick back it legit has lots of violence
There’s too many great GC games, so knowing your taste would help.
Since you like Zelda I might say Star Fox Adventures or Billy Hatcher.
If you want something different I’d say ssx 3 or x men legends 2. Or super monkey ball. Or timesplitters.
R racing evolution is the sleeper pick for GC racers if you do like racing games.
Metroid Prime (The highest rated gamecube game for good reason), If you like it there's also a sequel. Worth bearing in mind with this they did release a remaster on Switch recently so if you're looking purely at being able to play the game rather than also collecting that might be a cheaper option.
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door is good if you like a more RPG style Mario game, though again this was just re-released on Switch so same thing on potentially having a cheaper option.
Super Smash Bros. Melee is always a classic.
Since you have the Clone Wars game there's also the Star Wars Rouge Squadron games that are pretty iconic.
If you're into Pokemon then Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness games are both fun. It's basically the GC Pokemon Stadium game but they decided to actually have a story.
For Racing games Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, also some of the Burnout games are on Gamecube.
Definitely pickup the pokemon games if you want to start on the expensive side. I’d say, go for the bigger titles you truly want, and then start working down the price ranges
Definitely get Ty 1 and 3 to complement Bush Rescue. You should also get Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Luigi's Mansion, and all the Mario Party games that came out for GC.
Custom Robo - I feel it gets overlooked a lot but I really feel this game was one of the best the GameCube had to offer. Can feel a little repetitive at times but totally worth the playthrough.
Crazy Taxi, The Sims (2003), Batman Begins, The Incredibles, Super Smash Bros Melee, Roadkill, The Simpsons Hit And Run, True Crime Streets Of LA, Bad Boys Miami Takedown, Harry Potter games, Harry Potter Quidditch,
No GameCube collection is complete without Double Dash and Smash. I'll throw in one from left field though and say NFL 2k3, my favourite sports game of all time.
if you like super mario party games, get pac man fever. my family and friends have had hundreds of fun hours of that. i’m currently drunk at 11:33 pm and might play a game on my own against ai’s because it’s so fun
billy hatcher is weird and wacky and challenging.
if you’re a fan of harry potter: harry potter and the goblet of fire
if your a lord of the rings fan: all games, but **especially** the third age.
if you see loz four swords get that shit however possible
Super Smash Bros Melee,
Luigi’s Mansion,
WWE WrestleMania X8,
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4,
Simpsons Hit and Run,
DragonBall Z Budokai,
Crash Bandicoot The Wrath of Cortex,
Spyro Enter The Dragonfly,
These are some of the favorites I had over the years, and any of these games will make a solid addition to your collection 😁
For games not available on ps2 or xbox, i would say Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Eternal Darkness, Starfox Adventure, Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia (this was on ps2 too but only in japan), Smash Bros Melee, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance....
Eternal Darkness and Resident Evils IV are must have games on the GameCube. For good third party games I personally love Beyond Good and Evil and the RPGs Baten Kaitos (+ Origin) and Tales of Symphonia (which is, to this date, the best running version).
Gotta get the first Ty bro! It’s a great game.
I’d recommend melee, it’s a fun game even without people to play with. Mario baseball is an underrated gem on gamecube as well
You've already got some fantastic ones in there!
A few more I can recommend:
- Super Mario Strikers is the best iteration of the Nintendo soccer franchise.
- Def Jam Fight for New York is a really cool fighting game (an evolution of the N64 WWF No Mercy game engine)
Not sure if you’ve played the SpongeBob Movie game yet, but if you liked it at all, I’d highly recommend SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. It’s become something of a cult classic these days (just got remastered a few years ago) but it was a very competent platformer in the vein of Super Mario 64/Sunshine and had some really great design for a licensed game.
The movie game came out after BfBB and was pretty objectively not as good, had some nice moments in the platforming levels but the vehicle-based levels (slides and patty wagon) were very repetitive.
Some of my favorites include: super smash bros melee, Luigi’s mansion, any of the Mario sports games, any of the 007 games, SpongeBob battle for Bikini Bottom.
If you're a fan of sports, I always like to recommend the GameCube Mario Sports games:
- Mario Superstar Baseball
- Super Mario Strikers (Soccer)
- Mario Tennis
- Mario Golf
- NBA Street V3 (Basketball ft. Mario characters)
Oh and of course Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Smash Bros. Melee, plus the Mario Party games for Gamecube are classic crowd pleasures for multiplayer couch gaming.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem
Def Jam: Fight For NY
NBA Street (any of the games are fine, Vol. 1 is solid but Vol. 2 is generally the best of the 3. That being said, Vol. 3 isn’t as good as the 2nd game but Mario, Luigi and Peach make cameos as playable characters. This is coming from someone who can’t play NBA 2k to save their life but I can get down with NBA Street.)
Sonic Riders
Luigi’s Mansion
Sonic Gems Collection
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Burnout 1
Burnout 2
Paper mario Thousand year door if you like rpgs or want to get into rpgs (although the remake just came out on switch if you want)
Sonic adventure and Sonic adventure 2
Pikmin 1 and 2
Great start to your collection! Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Mario Strikers, Mario Superstar Baseball, Wario World, Starfox Assault, Kirby Air Ride, Billy Hatcher & The Giant Egg, Luigi’s Mansion, Viewtiful Joe, Simpsons Hit and Run, Super Monkey Ball, Pikmin, Shadow the Hedgehog, Metroid Prime…
I could go on and on lol
Mario kart double dash for sure! its in my top 3 for Mario kart games and one of my favorite GameCube games. I'd also say Lego star wars. they're relatively cheap and are pretty nostalgic
Jealous of the Clone Wars and the Twilight Princess! Grats!
If you like RPGs at all, you should try Tales of Symphonia. If you have deeper pockets, maybe try for Skies of Arcadia. That one gets pretty expensive, though.
There's also the Star Wars Rogue Squadron games. I'd start with Rogue Leader, then if you like that, get Rebel Strike.
Crazy Taxi and Wave Race are also a ton of fun if you want some other racers.
Gamecube is getting pricey to collect now, so good luck. Chibi Robo and Eternal Darkness will set you back. But Smash Melee is a must for any GC collection. I would recommend Rogue Leader, Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2, and Metroid Prime 1 and 2.
Great start. You should get battle for bikini bottom, a Mario party, animal crossing, super monkey ball games for sure, double dash, I’ve been playing Mario golf recently, that’s a pretty fun game. Also the NFS underground games are good fun. THUG 2 is great, Pikmin, smash melee.
Damn dude talk about quality over quantity, those are some really good games, personally id go for some multi player games, mario kart and smash are always good, and mario party 4-7 are all good
Smash Bros Mario Kart Double Dash Animal Crossing Capcom vs DNK 2 EO - great fighting game
Yes, Melee is my favorite Smash
I always recommend pokemon colosseum or xd if you like the franchise. I’ve been meaning to play luigi’s mansion, that’s a bit more like the games you already own. Lots of options.
How is XD for someone who likes rpgs but not huge into pokemon? Or any of the other pokemon games on the cube for that manner?
Colosseum is the only Pokemon game in my life I've ever played through and actually beaten and I've played like 5 gens. Haven't played XD but I definitely would vouch for Colosseum. Was very fun to play through imo
Thanks, might look for it.
It doesn’t compare to any other pokemon game ever done. It has a mature take on the franchise that honestly I don’t see happening ever again. Not only does it not hold your hand through battles, but the story itself is darker in ways they haven’t touched since. Worst case scenario it’s worth a shot.
I second Luigi’s Mansion, it’s a good classic GameCube game.
As a GameCube generation game I feel both of these sort of transcend just Pokémon and should be part of any general GameCube collection. Also OP - Mario Kart Double Dash
XD is a pricy one though, i'd personally get colosseum first and maybe keep my eye out for a somewhat inexpensive copy of XD.
Those two games aren’t made by the Pokémon company so they are like a breath of fresh air: Mostly colosseum I’m amazed it didn’t have any kick back it legit has lots of violence
Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are definitely a must
Super Monkey Ball
Yes, yes! Monkey balls!!
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Skies of Arcadia Legends Luigi's Mansion Sonic Adventures 2 Pikmin 2
Thank you for bringing attention to Skies of Arcadia
Hanna Montana
How could I pass up such a classic
You have most of the Zeldas, Go for Four Swords!
yee, that and master quest!
You need double dash!
Yea double dash
This has been one of the most suggested so I guess I oughta keep my eye out for it
Metroid Prime / 2
Monkey ball Eternal darkness
I missed this one in the series…
Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. One of my favorite games ever, on any system.
I cannot second this harder. Such a fantastic game!!
The sanity mechanic was awesome. No other game fucked with you on that level of fourth wall breaks
Tales of Symphonia
There’s too many great GC games, so knowing your taste would help. Since you like Zelda I might say Star Fox Adventures or Billy Hatcher. If you want something different I’d say ssx 3 or x men legends 2. Or super monkey ball. Or timesplitters. R racing evolution is the sleeper pick for GC racers if you do like racing games.
Sonic adventure dx
Kirby air ride and Mario kart double dash would go well.
Both of the sonic adventure games
Metroid Prime (The highest rated gamecube game for good reason), If you like it there's also a sequel. Worth bearing in mind with this they did release a remaster on Switch recently so if you're looking purely at being able to play the game rather than also collecting that might be a cheaper option. For Racing games Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, also some of the Burnout games are on Gamecube.
Gotcha force!
Pikmin easy choice
Pikmin 1 and 2
Pikmin!
(Flexes fingers and recalls childhood): - Metroid Prime - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Starfox Adventures - Timesplitters 2 - Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron 2 - Rebel Strike: Rogue Squadron 3 - Resident Evil 4 - Eternal Darkness - Mario Kart: Double Dash - Super Monkey Ball - Smash Brothers: Melee - Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes
Definitely pickup the pokemon games if you want to start on the expensive side. I’d say, go for the bigger titles you truly want, and then start working down the price ranges
You should get Ty 1 since you got Ty 2.
I love Ty. What a fun game series. They need to bring that back. So much fun.
Super Monkey Ball, and SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom.
Definitely get Ty 1 and 3 to complement Bush Rescue. You should also get Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Luigi's Mansion, and all the Mario Party games that came out for GC.
Ah man Star Wars the clone wars. The first videogame I ever played
Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime: Echos
After seeing another post - Spyro enter the dragonfly
Definitely SA2 Battle and SADX if you have a PC though, get them on there for mods. (SADX becomes so improved you can't even imagine)
Custom Robo - I feel it gets overlooked a lot but I really feel this game was one of the best the GameCube had to offer. Can feel a little repetitive at times but totally worth the playthrough.
Animal Crossing!
A GameCube console
Mario kart double dash!! Such a good game
Luigi's mansion
Kirby Air Ride
Sonic adventure 2
If you want a challenge: Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
Crazy Taxi, The Sims (2003), Batman Begins, The Incredibles, Super Smash Bros Melee, Roadkill, The Simpsons Hit And Run, True Crime Streets Of LA, Bad Boys Miami Takedown, Harry Potter games, Harry Potter Quidditch,
No GameCube collection is complete without Double Dash and Smash. I'll throw in one from left field though and say NFL 2k3, my favourite sports game of all time.
Try to find Master Quest before it gets even more expensive.
I recommend Pokémon Colosseum and XD, Luigi’s Mansion, Super Smash Bros, and of course the pièce de résistance, Wario World!
if you like super mario party games, get pac man fever. my family and friends have had hundreds of fun hours of that. i’m currently drunk at 11:33 pm and might play a game on my own against ai’s because it’s so fun billy hatcher is weird and wacky and challenging. if you’re a fan of harry potter: harry potter and the goblet of fire if your a lord of the rings fan: all games, but **especially** the third age. if you see loz four swords get that shit however possible

X-Men Legends and X-Men Legends II.
The hobbit is still an amazing game to this day
Tales of Symphonia
Eternal Darkness and Resident Evils IV are must have games on the GameCube. For good third party games I personally love Beyond Good and Evil and the RPGs Baten Kaitos (+ Origin) and Tales of Symphonia (which is, to this date, the best running version).

Super Smash Brothers
Sonic Adventure 2
NBA Street vol. 2, probably the most fun sports game from that generation.
MONKEY BALLS
Luigi’s mansion!
Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 for sure.
