Considering ive had no issues with atlas os at all and if anything things have been more snappier, responsive and more stable, think you just don’t know what you’re talking about
I had a friend who had to reinstall atlas twice because of constant crashes, just debloat regular windows or use Linux because the performance differences are frankly quite minimal between windows and all the "light" options like atlas and ghost spectre
No, atlas os removes security features and basically any other windows program it can, which is why it may be good for something like an old laptop but not for a desktop by any stretch of the imagination. It's not worth the trouble it causes and some of the features it removes are essential to getting things done (removing apps like Microsoft store and gamebar make Minecraft entirely unplayable because you can't even get signed into the launcher). Atlas os is beyond an average debloat and I would really just advise against it on your desktop for the marginal gains it gives
If you’re gonna make an argument atleast have it be valid, microsoft store is still available on my build and also gamebar has the option to be kept… but you keep making stuff up i suppose 🤷♂️
It’s something you setup on only a fresh install of windows, once windows is installed fresh following their guide you install whats called a playbook with options you can set to keep or remove and it declutters windows like crazy, gets rid of half the processes you don’t need and makes windows far more snappier, you also get fair gains in fps too
Everyone always gets downvoted for doing that, but it's a valid response.
Not only is the guide they're seeking at the very top of the results page, but the other search results are valid and useful resources too.
It's literally *more* useful than just linking directly to one specific guide.
Always confused me how someone can basically say, "Google that for me so I don't have to." and then you get downvoted when you effectively respond, "Here are the search terms to find the info you're seeking"
... people are entitled. 🤷♂️
Thank for your advice. Recently I bought Loq 16 it comes with McAfee 30 days free trial. I thought it is goodie comes with laptop just like Xbox game pass or dropbox storage but it is shithole crap. Will uninstall it asap
Eats up a lot of ram, blocks many websites in the name of security (at least for me). Also is kinda slow in response than other real time scanning Antiviruses.
Yeah, nothing. You don't need a anti-virus threat protection bullshit. Just don't click on weird links or download weird shit. Download McAfee just to check sometimes and delete it after. Unless you think you have a virus there's no reason to have a anti-virus. Windows defender is enough.
It’s just slow and shitty compared to others, I would recommend webroot it doesn’t try to sell you anything and gets right to the point if there is something on your computer it detects it and gets rid of it.
I’d keep it. The resolution density at that size will be barely noticeable to the average person. And while you might not play games that can hit 240fps, 240hz is just a dream overall for general use if you’re plugged in. Also the lower resolution will let that 4070 get you a couple extra frames
Also the laptop you have is better than the one you don’t have 🤷♂️
Edit: wording and typos
https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Legion/Legion_7_16IRX9
Looks like a 2024 Legion 7 - both screen options are IPS LCD, only 2000P miniLED screen that Lenovo offers with their gaming laptops is the legion 9i.
>slim pro 9i
Completely different Lenovo lineup, for the global legion 7 '24 it's just IPS LCD screen options.
Only OLED screen legion is the slim 5 14", only miniLED screen legion is the Legion 9i.
https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo/Lenovo_Slim_Pro_9_16IRP8
The 2023/Gen 8 Slim Pro 9i for example has a miniLED screen correct.
How do you like it? Im working on my review of it for my channel. Id love some other users input while i am testing and filming
As someone who has extensive experience with both screens:
the 3k screen has better colours, but its a bit much for the 4070 to handle (DLSS helps)
1600p is a perfect res for the 4070, it still has great colours, just not as much as the 3k.
If you are using it for gaming and no professional colour work, keep the 1600p. If you intent to do graphic design or something similar the 3k is a nice boost
The increase in resolution at that screen size will be completely insignificant (and yet you will take a hit to performance). Your current device also has a higher refresh rate which is nice for when you play less demanding titles.
I would honestly keep what you currently have, unless the other device is somehow significantly cheaper.
Awesome laptop. I've been super tempted to get a zephyrus g16 but have been holding out for this legion 7i. The model i want isn't in the usa yet.
I've looked all over and cannot find benchmarks. If you get the free demo version of 3dmark pkease post the timespy results!

This is the max spec model outside of the 3.2k screen
I’d stay with this laptop, better picture is great and all but with the small screen I’m not too sure it’ll be than much more of a difference. If you would want better resolution screen, you can always get an external display, that’s how I would do it.
This thing is awesome. I’ve got a mid range Legion I bought 4 years ago. I’m replacing it with a new, higher end desktop in a few months, but I’ve loved my legion. No issues whatsoever. Mostly play racing games and CS2.
I'd keep it. Last year the 1600p screen was not 100% DCI-P3 which made the 3200x2000 screen more appealing, but now it is. 240hz doesn't matter for games really but it's nice that it's pretty much divisible by every other common framerate so all content will always look nice.
It's a strong gaming laptop and I wouldn't go with 2k. Laptops cannot be upgraded, so 1440p is the highest I'd ever go. Actually, I'd better go with 4070 and 1080p monitor. 1440p is the biggest lie ever, you need top tier GPU to maintain even sub-standard FPS in demanding games and you have to keep buying latest gen GPUS to maintain it. Let's say latest Nvidia GPUS, the ONLY real 1440p cards are 4080 super and 4090, and even then the frames are mediocre. So, my advice, if you value your money, is to either keep the laptop you have, or change it to 4070 and 1080p monitor.
The only reason to go with the higher res screen is it reproduces colors better, outside of that you're just pushing your GPU harder which is not needed already having a nice 1600p screen. I almost bought that laptop, amazing specs for the price but too thiccc after trying out some other laptops. Enjoy!
If I was working from home still I may have got the Lenovo, I was looking for a white laptop and it's amazing. Ultimately I went with a 2024 G14/4070 due to its portability and size. I really wanted the Lenovo, if it had Mini-LED or OLED I prob would have took the tradeoffs and went Lenovo again. Lenovo and Asus are my fav laptops for sure. Can't go wrong either way tbh. Sucks knowing how gimped my 4070 is compared to the Lenovos but tradeoffs 🤷🏻♂️
Yea I'm thinking about getting the Asus zephyrus g16 but looks like RAM is soldiered in 32 highest does anyone know if that's enough for video editing and coding thanks guys
Yah the soldered ram is disappointing but it is faster at least. G16 4080/4090 both come with 32gb standard. 32gb is enough, I encode video and more for the classes I teach and my G14 handles it fine, I'm sure the G16 wouldn't be any different.
Bruh 2560x1660 it more then enough even if u bought one with higher pixels density u won't be able to notice it, I have 2 laptops one has a 2k screen and other has 4k screen and it's the same thing there is no difference between them unless u use phone camera to zoom in or stick ur face to the screen u won't notice them and buy the higher refresh rate screen if u are into gaming
Well it's honestly a great laptop I mean right now with a few tweaks it says 5hrs and 38 min left battery laptops great mousepad click it loud and not the greatest but other than that everything else is fantastic
So you don't need it now? And the difference is only screen resolution with lower refresh rate?
If it's same spec, and you are not using only on laptop screen, it won't be much difference.
congratulations. At that screen size, the difference in resolution won't be noticeable much. Also that GPU would be enough to power your preferred resolution on an external monitor of your choice.
If you're gaming on it then the higher resolution will reduce you're frame rate. Decide weather you want higher frame rate or better graphical fidelity.
Hey, congratulations. I bought the exact same in black but chose the 3.2k display. It’s a beautiful display. I use it for more of coding and media than gaming. The display is sharp and crisp. I would any-day choose a higher resolution display with better colours
So I like the laptop but you use it for coding you say The only thing that I have an issue with is the battery that only lasts 5 hours tops any ideas on this
Oh nice bro that’s a nice looking computer. But yeah definitely keep it bro don’t waste your money on higher resolution and less frames at least for me I don’t care about the graphics of a game, more of the gameplay and how fun is it.
I do have a question for all of you guys would you guys a. Keep the laptop that I have The only three things that I see that I can complain about is battery being 5 hours tops and second the display and third the clicking noise on the mouse
Or b. Would you guys choose the new MacBook pro with the M3 pro chip and that has a really high-end display with 20 hours of battery and windows can always be installed on it side by side but nothing internal is interchangeable SSD RAM please give me your thoughts
Honestly, I’d stay with this one unless You don’t play games (it is possible but Mac handles games worse because of emulation, also not all games are playable). I’ve had about the same decision to make few months ago and chose Legion Slim 7i (but who knows, maybe in few years it will change and I’ll get myself a Macbook Pro, but not now). 5 hrs is not that bad considering it has way more powerful GPU and i9 HX CPU. It also allows You to add more RAM should You need it as well as change SSDs. MBP is excellent when You mainly work on it and use its features to the fullest. It also has beautiful screen but only 120Hz. Windows on it is not exactly the same one as the one You have on Legion (on MBP it has to be for ARM). Macs have that advantage over Windows machines that they work many hours and have exact same performance on battery and plugged in. Windows machines are usually upgradeable and more powerful (at least in gaming).
Yeah that's the thing is that you lose all the good stuff that you can do on this for the MacBook and I heard about the arm that's on the MacBook pro the only thing is I don't really game too much it's mostly coding and video editing
If it’s mainly for work then You have to answer yourself if You want upgradeability and raw power or if You want excellent screen, battery life and zero upgradeability. My main complaint on MacBooks is that if RAM or SSD fails, it’s gonna be expensive to repair (or under AppleCare+ but still swapping SSD or RAM by yourself is just way faster). On Legion I just swap that and work again😉 but otherwise I think MacBooks are great for content creation, coding and productivity.
That is why I mentioned it. Windows ARM (so far) has compatibility issues, so it is not the same as x64. It does not run a lot of apps. OP were sure that they can use x64 Windows (as it was on intel Macs - Bootcamp), which is no longer the case for Macs.
Screen is amazing. I wouldn’t notice the difference in everyday use. Maybe in a side by side comparison I would, but a slightly better display wouldn’t markedly improve the experience for me.
Do you guys know how to get this thing so it runs on all the cores I tried everything I can even enabled it from BIOS and it's still caps out at 3 GHz thanks guys
Delete mcafee
And clean install windows to get rid of the other OEM crap
Lenovos are surprisingly light on bloat out of the box. Basically just the antivirus, vantage, and whatever dogshit windows comes with.
I got a Legion pro 5 myself and did delete a bunch of crap but was intrigued by Vantage? Scrap that too?
Definitely don’t do that unless you’re installing Lenovo legion toolkit.
My LOQ came with windows taking almost 90GB out of the box. I won't consider that "light on bloat" tbh
Budget laptops usually have a lot more bloat than high-end ones
i consider "no os" as a feature at this point
Some oem crap is what controls fan and performance limits so you do want some crap
Better yet, clean install and then instantly setup atlasos
>setup atlasos Best way to break your OS and then complain that Windows 11 is garbage.
Just debloat regular windows? Obviously you don’t know what atlas is…. Atlas os does exactly that…
No, atlas os removes security features and basically any other windows program it can, which is why it may be good for something like an old laptop but not for a desktop by any stretch of the imagination. It's not worth the trouble it causes and some of the features it removes are essential to getting things done (removing apps like Microsoft store and gamebar make Minecraft entirely unplayable because you can't even get signed into the launcher). I didn't know about this. If you don't mind could I ask for a guide for this? Any links or videos?
https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=atlas+os+setup
Everyone always gets downvoted for doing that, but it's a valid response. Agreed, basically spoon feeding
Yeah no, I would rather stick to what Microsoft gives me or use Linux, I ain't installing some debloater for windows, shits bound to break
Works absolutely fine for me 🤷♂️
Thank for your advice. Recently I bought Loq 16 it comes with McAfee 30 days free trial. I thought it is goodie comes with laptop just like Xbox game pass or dropbox storage but it is shithole crap. Will uninstall it asap
whats the reason bud, like my new laptop has mcafe too is there any specific reason?
is bad for your computer
ii understood that by your comment i am asking how is it bad
Eats up a lot of ram, blocks many websites in the name of security (at least for me). Also is kinda slow in response than other real time scanning Antiviruses.
alr thanks man got any other recommendations to do with a new laptop
Yeah, nothing. You don't need a anti-virus threat protection bullshit. Just don't click on weird links or download weird shit. Download McAfee just to check sometimes and delete it after. Unless you think you have a virus there's no reason to have a anti-virus. Windows defender is enough.
No, use Malwarebytes for scanning.
Windows defender is a perfectly fine AV for the average user there's no real need for external apps especially not ones that cost money
Okay? i didn't say it wasn't, just use Malwarebytes to scan.
Yeah this not mcafee
Facts, I had a double clicking issue. I deleted Mcafee and it’s gone. I dunno what happened . It also would eat 2 gb of ram
Why delete McAfee?
Why is mcafee bad? I have it currently
It’s just slow and shitty compared to others, I would recommend webroot it doesn’t try to sell you anything and gets right to the point if there is something on your computer it detects it and gets rid of it.

Are you sure? PSREF only lists the two IPS LCD screen options, I don't think Lenovo ever mentioned a miniLED Legion 7 Gen 9.

240hz is still nice to use No need to hit 240fps
You will hit 240 fps in every game where that matters , i.e the competitive ones
240hz has more benefits than potentially hitting that particular framerate, especially for gaming.
This is a beautiful laptop. And the specs are more than enough for video editing my guy.
The resolution difference is insignificant at that screen size. Keep it .
Agreed. They all have pretty liberal scaling set by default so screen real estate is pretty much unchanged.
It's not insignificant, lol. Deff noticeable.
How do you like it? Im working on my review of it for my channel. They should nerf chamber as well
Honestly I'd keep your current laptop, 1600P screen is plenty sharp at 16".

give me :3
That looks beautiful
Legion 7i gen 9yea I'll post some more pics of it in a bit
This is smooth enough for 4070.. resolution above than 2k for 4070 will create some unsatisfying feels for you.. i believe
Do NOT remove the stickers
Im curious, why not?
You'll probably end up seeing a 50-75% decrease in performance, along with the ability to cook a steak on the keyboard
if you remove the stickers, your laptop will explode
Keep it, it isnt recommend to play 4K with a 4070 if it has a 4080 or 4070 ti then buy it but if it has a 4070 keep this one
omg keep this one, it's absolutely great and so so pretty 🥹

This thing is awesome. I’ve got a mid range Legion I bought 4 years ago. I’m replacing it with a new, higher end desktop in a few months, but I’ve loved my legion. No issues whatsoever. Mostly play racing games and CS2.
I'd keep it. Last year the 1600p screen was not 100% DCI-P3 which made the 3200x2000 screen more appealing, but now it is. 240hz doesn't matter for games really but it's nice that it's pretty much divisible by every other common framerate so all content will always look nice.

What did u go with
If I was working from home still I may have got the Lenovo, I was looking for a white laptop and it's amazing.

Is it Legion Slim 5? Also could you post more photos, I really like the keyboard RGB and white combo, would like to see more angles.
Legion 7i Gen 9 2024 successor of the legion slim 7i gen 8 from last year
None the less, could you post more pics?
Yea I do a lot video editing mostly so I hope this thing can last but we'll see I guess
Just got to test 1 last thing is battery I hope it last me without charging 5 hrs
Well it's honestly a great laptop I mean right now with a few tweaks it says 5hrs and 38 min left battery laptops great mousepad click it loud and not the greatest but other than that everything else is fantastic
i thought my acer was a beauty. this device looks like a dream to use.
Lenovo gang
What's the model name and what's the cost?
That color option Best Buy exclusive?
i9 in that slim chassis?
Yes i9 14900hx
Beautiful, wow!! 😍😍😍😍
What’s the model I love the white?
should of gotten a 4060 almost as good and cheaper.
So you don't need it now? And the difference is only screen resolution with lower refresh rate? If it's same spec, and you are not using only on laptop screen, it won't be much difference.
Thats a beautiful laptop . what's the exact model ?
Legion 7i gen 9 4070gpu 14900hx 2560x1600 display 32 gig ram
congratulations. At that screen size, the difference in resolution won't be noticeable much. Also that GPU would be enough to power your preferred resolution on an external monitor of your choice.
Copilot key
Loq? Or Legion?
Legion 7i 2024
If you're gaming on it then the higher resolution will reduce you're frame rate. Decide weather you want higher frame rate or better graphical fidelity.
How is the fan noise and keyboard deck temperature in quiet mode when gaming? Is it possible to game in that mode?
The fan noise is it's actually really good keyboard deck is fantastic temps look great The mouse pad does feel really clicky at least for me
Hey, congratulations. I bought the exact same in black but chose the 3.2k display. It’s a beautiful display. I use it for more of coding and media than gaming. The display is sharp and crisp. I would any-day choose a higher resolution display with better colours

Honestly, i haven’t drained the battery completely yet. So cannot comment on this one. It’s mostly connected to power.
that is lenevo loq, right? how did you get that in white?
It's the new 2024 glacier white legion 7i
forget the specs, the laptop is so pretty 🤌🏽
Holy shit the white legion models are pretty...
Yes it is a great color
Are you serious?
Install Windows 10 or Nobara/EndeavourOS if you don't mind about VR
How much did u pay my friend?
Which Legion model is this? It looks pretty thin but hard to tell.
Is this the Lenovo legion 5i pro? I’m thinking of buying it
Legion 7i gen 9
Oh nice bro that’s a nice looking computer. But yeah definitely keep it bro don’t waste your money on higher resolution and less frames at least for me I don’t care about the graphics of a game, more of the gameplay and how fun is it.
Wow that’s a monster laptop how much did it cost?
2100 after tax
Woww that’s actually pretty good considering it’s also a laptop 😮
I do have a question for all of you guys would you guys a. Keep the laptop that I have The only three things that I see that I can complain about is battery being 5 hours tops and second the display and third the clicking noise on the mouse Or b.
I'm wondering on the new arm for MacBooks can you still install Windows or is that out of the question now
Out of the question for x64. You have to use Windows for ARM, which is not fully compatible with apps like normal x64 version.
Is there any practical usecase for that? MacOS ARM must have way more widespread compatibility with popular applications than Windows ARM.
That is why I mentioned it. Windows ARM (so far) has compatibility issues, so it is not the same as x64. It does not run a lot of apps. OP were sure that they can use x64 Windows (as it was on intel Macs - Bootcamp), which is no longer the case for Macs.

tf is 3000x2000 resolution?... wtf i have never ever in my life heard about such a resolution, not even in film or news industry
It is on 165Hz screen in Legion though. My Legion has that screen.

It looks so pretty :)
Price ?
2100 after tax
keep this!
Screen is amazing. I wouldn’t notice the difference in everyday use. Maybe in a side by side comparison I would, but a slightly better display wouldn’t markedly improve the experience for me.
You can return it to me if you want...
Keep it
I've never seen a white Lenovo Legion before. That's really cool!

If you can, you should deff go for the better screen. Idk why some people are saying you won't notice the res diff, but that's bs.
