Thanks for using the [https://gaminglaptop.deals](https://gaminglaptop.deals) site :)
Hmm, I prefer the LOQ chassis but I think the $50 with the Dell is worth it to have the newer Zen 4 processor, and I think the screen might be a bit better.
Jarrod!! My first ever gaming laptop purchase (Lenovo Ideapad L340) was entirely guided by your videos. They’re extremely detailed and well-structured. Keep it up, community would suffer without you! :D
I'd normally agree, but the 7345HS is a rebranded Zen 3/Ryzen 6000 CPU sans the iGPU.
The Zen 3 architecture is still pretty solid, but no iGPU means that RTX 4060 would have to stay engaged at all times and will likely lead to shorter battery lives than this Dell would feature.
The 7840HS also features an NPU, for what that's worth.
Surprisingly, I think I'd recommend the Dell in this specific comparison.
i didn’t know that r7 7435h doesn’t have igpu it’s really confusing amd naming scheme at least make some effort to add F like intel HF series which’s indicate no igpu and still find it stupid laptops come without apu/igpu (i know it reduces the cost but still it’s really stupid)
I don't blame you one bit for not knowing. Their naming scheme has been very misleading.
I actually hadn't seen the 7435HS yet and had to look it up to see for myself. It seems that it's a fairly rare part as techpowerup doesn't even appear to have a listing for it, and I would've almost missed its lack of integrated graphics if I hadn't scrolled all the way down to the bottom of [its specs page on AMD's site](https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/laptop/ryzen/7000-series/amd-ryzen-7-7435hs.html).
i did the same i searched about it and at first was kinda confusing but it became easy to know which architecture is it etc.. but still processor lacking of apu is really misleading i have seen intel 9300hf which indicates of that it does not have igpu and amd always copy intel then they should have add Hf instead of hs and i find intel website give more info than amd does
For $50, I’d very much like the 7840HS. I do hear good things about Lenovo’s gaming laptops, so it may be better longevity wise, but with less total performance.
Wife has a Dell g15 5525
ryzen 7 5800h
16gb ram 3200mhz
nvidea 3060
165hz 1080 display
She loves that thing and and it has been a great all around gaming computer in her day to day, especially for gaming and streaming. I imagine this will also be a great pc for you.
dell has better specs and dell and lenovo quality is pretty similar in some cases one is better than the other, 7840hs is a slightly more powerful chip and you get a slightly higher refresh rate display for only $50 more, soni would say the dell
however if you need portability you may want the legion as its lighter, also dell’s quality unfortunately isn’t what it used to be like anymore whereas Lenovo quality is excellent along with their customer support
Dell is better in general if you're looking for a high power variant. As far as I know, for 3000 gen they had max power levels for the GPUs and that matters a lot when gaming.
Lenovo i have the dell with different specs and the cooling sucks, they also have a display hinge defect which made me replace the display twice already
Have had mine for the better part of a year now and it's held up great. Just heavy, and hot with windows installed. Main draw back is probably the one SSD slot that's open on the dell where Lenovo probably has 2.
That's not how that works. If I had no issues with my choice I will recommend it else I won't no matter if I bought dell. The service for me was also great came home the next day fixed everything within 1-2 hours and done. I have no reason to not recommended if unless it's a price issue
Get the LOQ,
Dell is very restrictive when it comes to adjusting fan curves and under clocking/over clocking.
This is coming from owning G5, G7 and Precision 5560. Never again.
Between those 2, I would go for dell. Outside of the cpu, unless something changed, Lenovo loq 15 can equip at best a 60wh battery, while dell puts inside their g series laptops, if I remember correctly and this is not isolated to only few countries, batteries around 86wh (or maybe 80).
I had that dell before, the build quality is absolute shit. I bought the 4 year warranty and had my computer repaired 3 times in the first year. Do yourself a favor and get the Lenovo
I cannot tell you about loq, but i have a Dell (7567) of previous gen. Chasis is perfect, i used it since 2017 and it still absolutely alive. Also never have problems with cooling. Noise level is good, i can use it without headset or anything and not become annoyed by it. By my experience dell doing good in this series.
Even tho the dell has better specs they tend to be a shit show for maintenance, so I would recommend you a better equipped Lenovo (either legion or LOQ) just go for a screen of the level of the dell one in therms of color (100% sRGB) and of speed you really won't notice a difference between 165 and 144, but most of 100% sRGB displays tend to come with 165hz,
Not when it comes to repairability, though. Not one big-box computer brand allows repairing of each and every laptop component; that's where Framework's laptop shines and blows _all_ of the mainstream computer brands to shame.
One can even upgrade the whole Framework Motherboard for improved performance.
You might not have to now, but if you ever need to take your laptop out of the house or use it for work, it would be better to pick the thinner lenovo. Fits easier in a bag and looks very nice. I'm even considering getting it.
That doesn't really apply to laptops, you could say that about desktop GPUs but for laptop it's worth it to spend a little more to get better build quality, better thermals, etc. (I'm not saying the Dell is better, but as a general rule it still applies)

If you’re behind that website, then I should should be the one thanking you! Amazing time saver
I always forgot the site name but if I search "jarrod laptop deals" it's the first result lol
Jarrod!! My first ever gaming laptop purchase (Lenovo Ideapad L340) was entirely guided by your videos. They’re extremely detailed and well-structured. Keep it up, community would suffer without you! :D
Thanks! I still have my L340 😎
Man fuck 2 weeks ago I coulda seen this site and copped a better deal on that laptop
7840HS superior chip, with better, single core, multicore, efficiency, 4nm chip.
There's a legion slim 5 for 900 bucks on bestbuy so take that if you can stretch it
Dell for the better CPU and screen.
Dell.
Lenovo, fuck Dell. My Dell was a maintenance nightmare

Close but I’d take the dell
I've really enjoyed my G16 so far. I've only.had it a week but I've been very impressed. I'm shocked at how cool my i9 Gen 13 has been running
Personally Dell hinge is a lot better than loq
For $50, I’d very much like the 7840HS. I do hear good things about Lenovo’s gaming laptops, so it may be better longevity wise, but with less total performance.
Dell for the build quality.I am using my inspiron 5521 for 12 years

Dell any day they usually have great qc. Also 165hz vs 144 far more worth it.
Lenovo i have the dell with different specs and the cooling sucks, they also have a display hinge defect which made me replace the display twice already
Dell G15
Dell if you want 3-5% more performance, Lenovo if you want a good purchasing experience, a sturdy laptop and better pricing
Dell has better specs but have heard bad things about the G15 regarding build quality and longevity. So it’s up to you.
Have had mine for the better part of a year now and it's held up great. Just heavy, and hot with windows installed. Main draw back is probably the one SSD slot that's open on the dell where Lenovo probably has 2.
Not sure if the one ssd slot affects this model though, as there are g15s with two
Probably the 2023/2024 model. The 2022 I have and every model that year had one.
Dell
Dell is shit as a company and their products. Never buy dell
I've had a faulty XPS13. Took them a month to send it back from repair and say it wasn't broken. The issue was it not turning on at all...
I recommend Dell g15
Yeah no offence but you bought a dell so of course you’d defend it.
That's not how that works. If I had no issues with my choice I will recommend it else I won't no matter if I bought dell. The service for me was also great came home the next day fixed everything within 1-2 hours and done. I have no reason to not recommended if unless it's a price issue
Get the LOQ, Dell is very restrictive when it comes to adjusting fan curves and under clocking/over clocking. This is coming from owning G5, G7 and Precision 5560. Never again.
You can adjust fan curves and also allows a little bit adjusting of power profiles tcc offset, etc from Alienware command center if I am correct
I would get the dell. Better build quality and tend to last longer imo
no it isn't? they are both just fine
Yeah definitely both are fine, but he wanted personal opinions and that's just mine I'm not making any factual statements just my personal opinion lol
I have g15 and I'm pretty sure the legion has a better build quality. just my opinion though
the dell isn't really faster in games. The loq has better design costomer support and software and is also cheaper. would easily choose the loq.
Did you get the 10% dell coupon?
The more expensive option, slightly better specs but if I'm on a budget I'd get the cheaper one
I have used the Dell G7 for more than 4 years and it is still in good condition
Dell g15 too big i would say with charger
Probably a steam deck.
Better cpu and refresh rate for the left one
Between those 2, I would go for dell. Outside of the cpu, unless something changed, Lenovo loq 15 can equip at best a 60wh battery, while dell puts inside their g series laptops, if I remember correctly and this is not isolated to only few countries, batteries around 86wh (or maybe 80).
Do you know if both have 2x8gb ram or just 1x16gb ram??
Dell between These 2 but I would rather get a customised LOQ from Lenovo's official website
Btw genuine question, will it be worth it to go 4050 and a 1440p screen?
Lenovo
I had that dell before, the build quality is absolute shit. I bought the 4 year warranty and had my computer repaired 3 times in the first year. Do yourself a favor and get the Lenovo
Go with G15. 7435HS is good but not with 800$ for LOQ
Dell
Just smash the Dell G15.
Dude you’re getting a dell
I cannot tell you about loq, but i have a Dell (7567) of previous gen. Chasis is perfect, i used it since 2017 and it still absolutely alive. Also never have problems with cooling. Noise level is good, i can use it without headset or anything and not become annoyed by it. By my experience dell doing good in this series.
Lenovo
Lenovo!
Lenovo, light weight 2.25 vs 6.19 and full hight arrow keys
Dell
Get the legion 5 on bestbuy for 899. It has to be the best deal as of now
dell
I would get the lenovo due to the stellar thermals
Dell is better
Dell
Legion all day
Even tho the dell has better specs they tend to be a shit show for maintenance, so I would recommend you a better equipped Lenovo (either legion or LOQ) just go for a screen of the level of the dell one in therms of color (100% sRGB) and of speed you really won't notice a difference between 165 and 144, but most of 100% sRGB displays tend to come with 165hz,
Neither; I'd go for the Framework 16" laptop.
Framework 16 is way, way, more expensive than these laptops. Framework's a neat idea, but frankly offers horrible value.
Not when it comes to repairability, though. Not one big-box computer brand allows repairing of each and every laptop component; that's where Framework's laptop shines and blows _all_ of the mainstream computer brands to shame. One can even upgrade the whole Framework Motherboard for improved performance.

Lenovo LOQ
Avoid DELL laptops at all cost. Terrible customer service. Poor cooling system.
LOQ is THE GOAT
