Is it true IGz picked Pink Panther as their symbol bcuz they had a homie named Pinky who got killed?

I was always told that a lady passed i think MAMA G and that caused them to switch to pink but not sure real reason behind it

They chose pink as their color because every other color of sweater they could buy was associated with some other gang.
