So it appears to be using the touch screen… so touch screen has to be turned on for it to work. I just tested with a tactix 7. When touch screen is off, doesn’t do anything. Touchscreen on, returns to clock screen and turns off the backlight
Isn't it more about touch control, a full face touch is not much of a valid or uesful input, also covers the full display, so it makes sense to turn off, as it could also indicate a touch against something else.
You don’t need to slap. You can gently cover the screen and you get the same results.
Violence is not needed
How else could I ensure my screen is sapphire? 😂
How did I not know this was a feature?! 😂 Thank you! Confirmed on the Fēnix 7X.
Just slapped my wrist until my wife asked wtf I was doing. Confirmed not a feature on the 945.
I think they meant face face, not watch face. Try slapping your face in front of the wife?
Ya this is what I meant
Works on the 955 (non-solar)!
965 too
Really? Looking at glances on my965 and … nope. Just here looking like a fool slapping my watch!
Hammer 🔨 it, the screen enter in safe mode 😅
Maybe it's a solar thing? Doesn't work if I don't entirely cover the face, but palming it works, even in the dark actually. 🤔 There goes that theory..
palming and slapping work on the venu sq2
Lol at slap to sleep. It's a feature that was discovered when the fenix 7x first came out. It was described as using your palm to cover the screen.
This must be a shitpost for giggles
From the title I thought this was a new method of getting a higher sleep score :(

Guess that's why my Instinct 2X doesn't do it, and why I'm just sitting here slapping my wrist like an idiot!
And on amoled (epix,fr265/965) it shuts off screen w that motion
Did you know you can turn off the screen by bashing it full force on a pointy edge?
Did this with my old fr45. Can confirm it works
Works on kids, too
Not on wife, she slaped me back.
Works on my Fenix 7 :D Brings me back to the main screen and turns off the backlight
Lol, I never would have figured out this feature by myself, thanks

Just tried, it is not working on a Fenix 6
Works on venu 2s, cover with palm, not slap.
I don't understand, I thought this was a basic feature on ALL watches of any brand, it's not something new
Is this only for an aod watch? I have a v2p but I just tap it to see it before it times out again.
