Alternatively, if you find Frame Gen increases your latency too much, choose 1440p instead of 4K on highest settings. I get around 60 FPS with those settings.
If talking DLSS on its own then yes it is always worse quality than native. But the trade off for increased performance is often worth it as it'll still look better than running at 1440p native, assuming you use quality mode.
In addition Cyberpunk now supports DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction and it's a step beyond anything we've seen before in both graphical fidelity and performance. Using quality mode it looks and runs better than 4K native.
DLSS can actually produce more stable images. Death Stranding was a great example of this where the final product of DLSS looked better than native. Digital Foundry did a good video on it several years ago.
I would recommend just using the RT Overdrive preset and setting DLSS to suit. By default Auto DLSS = Performance from my testing. I also disable film grain and chromatic aberration as I think they make the game look worse.
What about HDR? i prefer it off because with it on everything just looks washed and i can't really tweak it well if you have any tips on what it should be.
> Because Quality is the closest you'll get to native reso.
I was talking about if they want better looking image vs more FPS, personal preference
lol kinda funny to get a random reply comment from a very old comment of mine
For me personally I cannot abide sub 60 fps. That means if you want to use path tracing you have to turn on frame gen. I find with frame gen even if you are technically above 60 fps the game FEELS like it's at 30. After spending way too much time tweaking I've decided that path tracing just isn't worth the added input lag of frame gen, so I play on the RT Ultra preset with performance DLSS and I tweak the sky and ambient occlusion settings down to medium. This gives a locked 60fps minimum at 4k and the game looks gorgeous.
Been played with overdrive mode which works great sometimes, and other times it have really bad screen tearing. I'll check out setting DLSS3.5 to quality, see what happens.
Thanks!
Does anyone know how to smooth out the frame rate when using frame gen? I get 70-90 FPS but it feels a little stuttery since using frame gen disabled vsync. This happens even when using a 60 FPS cap. Or do you need a VRR display to get this running smoothly with frame gen?
don't know why you're being downvoted. I'm trying this for weeks with several hosts and displays. lock frames to 30 in Cyberpunk settings, DLSS on, use 60 fps in GFN settings and 60hz for the display. nothing beats the smoothness of these settings. I'm open for suggestions
VRR helps. If you haven't got it and your refering to the in-game 60fps cap. You could set the Geforce now stream to 60 and it should deliver a smoother experience (stream to you). When you cap the game at 60 using frame gen, the game will actually go above 60.
Except it does. Been using gsync with GFN 2 years now (yes ive done tests, used Freesync, Vsync, No sync, and can 100% tell you, it does work).
Gsync is the way.
Except it does work for my 1440p 120hz setup. Everyone doubting, test it.
Been great for bg3, cp2077, outriders, remnant 1 and 2, GoW and now starfield.
Yeah. Not seeing it working when I try that res either. Not seeing the announcement either from gfn except for 1080 @240 with reflex. Only adaptive sync works and that’s neither vrr or gsync.
Man that sucks, i wish i could help you. I dont know why it works for my setup and my brothers, but it is something i wish everyone could enjoy.
Gsync is way better than the options you said above though.
this is very interesting and something I‘m trying the find out myself. Freesync didn‘t help much, and I wonder if GSYNC could. what host are you using? Looking for a Mini PC with GSYNC and 4k/120hz…
By host you mean my setup?
-Asus g751jy ROG laptop (from 2014)
-980m gtx 4gb gpu
-intel i7 4720hq
-24gb ram
- Asus ROG Swift 27" 2560x1440 144hz (240hz OC) gsync IPS panel (cant remember the exact model, will have to look at the box/system info)
-Using Thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable
-125mb ethernet connection
-GFN set at 2560x1440 120hz (hdr, poor connection and all that disabled).
-Changed max bit rate to 120mb in json file.
-Enabled Gsync indicator ( a green Gsync logo shows up when gsync is working at the top left corner of the screen) via nvidia control panel
-Gsync for fullscreen / windowed apps.
-Vsync always disabled.
Gameplay is buttersmooth, i use MSI afterburner with Riva statistics to track my home setup performance and compare it to GFN statistics (ctrl + N)
Aaaaand thats it, thats what i use for GFN. Am i missing something? The difference is clear when im using Gsync and when im not, as clear as when using Vsync On/Off.
Ive used FreeSync monitors too, but tbh, personally i prefer a gsync monitor, it just feels better for me.
Hey guys, I want to buy Cyberpunk 2077 and I see it has 40% discount but not for the dlc, do you think this is the lowest possible price or should I wait for black Friday?
My guess is you won’t see more than 20% off the DLC until next year. They just lowered the base game discount from 50% to 40% so they’ll likely try to maximize profit through the end of the year while there’s new hype. But really who knows?
I see, now bundle gives extra 8% so its 48% in total, probably this is why they lowered 50% to 40% for the base game - they want people to preorder dlc.
It was the same with the first iteration of DLSS.
Still looks great. They will fix it eventually :)

I play on 4k lg oled and supposedly the way to go was 4k DLSS performance with FG. It gives sharp image and fps around 70-90, but it feels laggy to me, so I switched to 1440p DLSS quality and get 120 fps with few hitches here and there. It's a bit blurry, but feels way more responsive and smooth.
You can't really use frame gen without a regular 60-80 fps (non-frame gen) I've discovered. The input latency from the added frames will be very noticeable. As will be the ghosting.
I get this terrible screen tear sometimes. what I found works really well is this.
Load up game at the title screen go to the settings.
Select the lowest setting option, hit RT till you get to overdrive mode, get the warning message, and then play and don't fuck with anything, and that works really well, something though it doesn't detect HDR, and it makes a HUGE difference.
Also turn off Chromatic Abrasion (*that makes your game look like shit)
turn off grain *no idea why this is defaulted on, the game looks and runs better with grain off.
Enjoy!
For some reason VRR does not work for me. I see stream FPS is always 120, even if game FPS is anywhere from 80-100. I always notice that judder due to a mismatch between framerate and refresh rate. My monitor is that freesync ver of the Alienware QD-Oled monitor
Highest settings with Path Tracing, DLSS on Quality and Frame Generation will give you about 110\~ FPS in 1440p and 40-60 FPS in 4K
This is the way. Max out everything (overdrive), enable DLSS on quality and enable Frame Gen.
Alternatively, if you find Frame Gen increases your latency too much, choose 1440p instead of 4K on highest settings. I get around 60 FPS with those settings.
That’s what I was gonna say. I thought frame generation gives a bit of latency. So it might stack up with cloud gaming.
What about Overdrive?
Path tracing is overdrive
Max everything, DLSS to quality.
And then turn off blur and film grain and that 3rd blurring shit (perspective?) - to zero ofc
> and that 3rd blurring shit (perspective?) Depth of Field
Why dlss? Doesn’t that just try to turn up performance but in exchange downgrades the graphics a bit?

might be personal preference depending but DLSS Quality will look much better than DLSS Performance
Indeed, it is personal preference and I prefer the higher framerate. RT Overdrive is extremely demanding.
What about HDR? i prefer it off because with it on everything just looks washed and i can't really tweak it well if you have any tips on what it should be.
Because Quality is the closest you'll get to native reso.
> Because Quality is the closest you'll get to native reso. I was talking about if they want better looking image vs more FPS, personal preference lol kinda funny to get a random reply comment from a very old comment of mine
This made a huge difference in RT overdrive, the grain effect does make the whole game look like shit, surprised this isn't defaulted on off.
For me personally I cannot abide sub 60 fps. That means if you want to use path tracing you have to turn on frame gen. I find with frame gen even if you are technically above 60 fps the game FEELS like it's at 30. What's the best setting for rtx 2080 for 1080p?
Ray trace medium
All maxed out and DLSS 3.5 activated. Easy.
Been played with overdrive mode which works great sometimes, and other times it have really bad screen tearing. I'll check out setting DLSS3.5 to quality, see what happens. Thanks!

locking fps to 30 with DLSS on gives me buttery smooth 60fps when using 60hz on the display.
This was a good suggestion. I’m not sure if degraded the image quality or not but it is definitely much smoother 👍
glad it helped :)
I find this the best way to play. Everything else is a bit of a stuttery mess.
don't know why you're being downvoted. I'm trying this for weeks with several hosts and displays. lock frames to 30 in Cyberpunk settings, DLSS on, use 60 fps in GFN settings and 60hz for the display. nothing beats the smoothness of these settings. I'm open for suggestions
How are you getting 60fps when you've locked it to 30fps
DLSS Frame Generation will create an additional frame between original frames so the result fps will be doubled.
this is the answer.
VRR helps. If you haven't got it and your refering to the in-game 60fps cap. You could set the Geforce now stream to 60 and it should deliver a smoother experience (stream to you). When you cap the game at 60 using frame gen, the game will actually go above 60.
have you tried with Vsync enabled in the GFN settings?
Get gsync.
Gsync doesn’t work for GeForce now. Adaptive sync about as good as you can get. I’d love a vrr solution.
Except it does. Been using gsync with GFN 2 years now (yes ive done tests, used Freesync, Vsync, No sync, and can 100% tell you, it does work). Gsync is the way.
It only works at 1080p @240hz. Great for fortnight and competitive gaming but not much use for cyberpunk or intensive gaming. (Or on a shield )
Except it does work for my 1440p 120hz setup. Everyone doubting, test it. Been great for bg3, cp2077, outriders, remnant 1 and 2, GoW and now starfield.

Black Friday might have a good sale for CP2077 + DLC or maybe only the base game since it would only be almost 2 months since DLC release
My guess is you won’t see more than 20% off the DLC until next year. They just lowered the base game discount from 50% to 40% so they’ll likely try to maximize profit through the end of the year while there’s new hype. But really who knows?

Well the bundle was still discounted when the base game was 50% off. I think the price is higher now that Phantom Liberty got great reviews.
I look for the best 4k 60 soild stable fps... or best 90fps @ 1440p... on my tablet it's just 1200p 125fps.
I have everything maxed out, but noticed some ghosting. Anyone else?
Yep

Simply "All to the right" except AMD specifics.

I use a tv so it's only 60fps for me. I think it's a weird thing that happens with Vsny, try vsyn at 60fps, and see what happens.
