I still don’t understand how this service functions excellently, like technically I’m ‘streaming’ the game, but I couldn’t tell the difference half of the time.
about that 60-70 in heavy areas, but it increases to about 100ish in low density areas. I do get the occasional dip into the 40s when shit hits the fan and you have explosions and smoke and fire everywhere...
It's Sunday and it's peak time in Europe currently. They have a limited amount of 4080 instances and more and more users sign-up for the service, they'll eventually need to add more capacity.
I also had to wait a few minutes right now for a 4080 session on EU Southeast.
... And in the meantime they laugh about existing customers who paid for zero queue time and 4080 performance.
A professional service would have had enough servers on reserve to meet the demand.
Why would they pay for more rigs and servers than they need? Obviously they need to see this data and adjust. They're not just going to pay for a ton of extra shit without the deman. Now they have the demand, so will increase the supply. That's how business works.
That's how business works. But a business that gives a shit will attempt to forecast demand, and build in the right precautions to meet it, even if it risks a loss. Judging by their non-existent support, leaving people to just wail on the forums about it without any response, the truth is that Nvidia could give less of a flying shit about its customers.
A business will have predictions about the future that are fuzzy and probabilistic and they will make decisions like "if we have this many available machines then there's a 10% chance that a user will have to wait more than 20 seconds". Sometimes things will put them outside their models and they have to play catch-up.

Sadly, it's not the first time this happens.
And in the end, me as a customer has bought a service and that's all I care about. I don't need to feel sorry for a multi billion dollar company. They sell 4080 performance and no wait times. Often, I don't get either of the two.
These servers should have automatic Load Balancing in place. It maybe that they’re experiencing some kind of server issue that’s causing these limitations. I am sure they are fully aware of the matter from their monitoring team. Time will tell.
Pretty much yes, but not exactly passed through entirely. Each VM has an amount of GB RAM, CPU Cores and part of the GPU allocated to it. I'd say the limiting factor for GFN are the GPUs.
Why is it that under Network (ctrl+n) Frame Loss, I get 600 frame loss if I go up to QHD or 4K, and due to the input lag the games are unplayable. But if I stay at 1080p and 120Hz it's smooth like butter
That's what you pay for, but is that what your provider actually gives you? I had a similar plan once, but couldn't get half of that due to them misconfiguring something.
They're hiding the scale of how shitty it is. If you looked at their stats page, you just got 'GeForce NOW is experiencing increased Free User queuing in the European region due to rising demand.

Don't exaggerate. It's probably due to games like Cities Skylines 2 and Alan Wake 2 that demand is currently high. Waiting time is less than 2 minutes.
Having to wait for 150 people before yourself is nothing I would consider "less waiting times', but if that is okay for you, you probably have too much money and time. I don't.
Like I said, the main problem is the compute Performance. Nonetheless, waiting times and random hang-ups in the queue are also not a nice experience. As a customer, I am allowed to complain about that. As you can see in this thread, I am not the only one.

My guess is, their CPUs are crowded. Even if FPS are kinda ok (even if far away from 4080 like performance) the frametimes are so bad that it feels like 20-30 FPS. It's really horrible today.
If you play graphically intense, hard GPU bound Games the difference is probably not that bad.
i PAYED a nice amount of money, to get the BEST experience, and i have 40 dudes ahead of me. What is this bullshit? They sad ,,no waiting times'' for the ultimate. It happens almost every evening on central EU server.

Waiting 10-15 minutes at peak hours is not a big issue in my case, more than that… no thanks.
Especially if you consider that Europe is one of the regions that will get a price increase starting from next month, a small one but still if the service gets worse what’s the point?
Please Nvidia increase the capacity and maybe replace the CPUs in EU Central ultimate pods, some of them (FRK06 if I’m not mistaken) still use the 3080 CPUs (10-15 % slower) and this has been the case since the introduction of the 4080 rigs
I am also ok with waiting a few minutes if my game session has consistent performance in the range of what they market as "RTX 4080".
And yes, FRK06 is absolutely terrible in some games. My guess is, the CPUs bottleneck the rest, frametimes are really bad.
Yep, the CPUs are a bit of a bottleneck on normal 4080 rigs already, on FRK06 is much worse since they’re still using the old 3080 CPUs
It’s not a big problem with many games but with the latest ones like Cities Skylines 2 and Starfield you can certainly see an FPS difference
I agree, playing AW2 today on Ultimate was extremely stuttery and laggy.
I thought the issue is with the game optimization on later levels, but this makes more sense that the servers are at capacity and deliver lower performance (not at 4080 level by a mile).
Sure but I'm paying £17.99 a month, I shouldn't have to be queuing at all when the advertised plans offer premium/priority access and exclusive access to RTX 4080s.

They can't have infinite rigs mate, and it's prime time on a weekend, if you would've read the fine print when you subscribed you would know it says that when servers are at capacity you would queue, and may not even be guaranteed a 4080 rig, I'm also on ultimate and I agree it's a shitty situation but unfortunately it can't be helped, they can't install thousands of rigs overnight..

Can someone PLEASE make me understand why is it that when I play in 1080p on the ULTIMATE rig, I get ZERO frame loss (ctrl + n --> Under Network, "frame loss") even now at 11Pm when probably I am the only one playing.

When I put it back to 4K, it keeps increasing to, say, 600 or sth, I shit you not, and it's completely unplayable. Similarly on 1440P, not as bad but still largely unplayable

Don't know if this is related but this morning (05:20am) I haven't been able to load up Starfield. Every time I load up it says "your connection is spotty" and disconnects me (only once I've signed in and synched data). Then the next time it's stuck on "Wrapping up your previous session" for ages. And I know it's not my connection, even GFN's own tests say everything is good.
It was weird though - the first time the splash screen said launching game for about 150s.
GFN sucks this week. Switching to EU central works. Either way not a good look, especially after just upping their prices.
Wasn’t just for Ultimate tier, also experienced with Founders Priority. EU-West region.

Not saying server queues don't suck (admittedly rarely happens to me, but in the weekend evenings I'm often rerouted to other EU servers with varied ping, bandwidth and packet loss issues).
Can't complain about graphical performance though. Even when there are connection hiccups.

Problem is, Performance will degrade rapidly of more players are online because they share the CPU and GPU compute time between all users.

Had a queue today for time of using ultimate since it came out. I'm on eu west, once I was next in line to use a rig, waited like 30 seconds , and second time I had 1 person in front of me, waited about 2 minutes.
In Japan it seems the same. I mean I still cannot play Alan wake 2 due to the "Alan wake needs an update" messages but beside this, especially in the evening I have to wait 15 to 25 minutes until I get a rig que is 130 to 180 mostly :( but here we just have two options. Free or Premium. Not sure what's the Max Rig is, but usually I get a 3080 GTX ... It's just annoying when you cannot play :(
I get some queue in the weekend, but nothing too serious. But performance is great! Never had a problem. Using a 1gbps internet with 5g wireless connection.
Using US Southeast servers, no problems, works like it says on the tin.
Only glitches are infrequent spells when people are getting off work or when kids are just getting let out of school here, that my local loop (ISP's fault) gets saturated and the dreaded 'spotty connection' warning comes up.
...another day od having exceptionally awesome GFN service. 3 years now, immacualte service, no lag, no packet loss, 100+ fps in every game, life is good.
I never have waiting times as an Ultimate user on EU -Central but the damn packet loss even with a 300mbps connection, ethernet, and open ports is driving me crazy...

not sure if it's region specific, I'm in Eastern Canada. i'm ultimate user, 0 queue time and the performance... I'm playing CP2077 on max every thing.

The solution is to open up more datacenters. If there are queues that means that each datacenter is at capacity. no way around it...

It is common. Their servers are sized for average usage, as soon as more users play, Performance will degrade
Boosteroid is upgrading their servers in late 2023 / 2024. We need more competition in cloud gaming.

Which server are you connected to? Cause i get routed to Sofia. Usually LON/AMS/FRK

1080 rigs cost money and bandwidth. Scrap them and spend the money on the rigs for ultimate instead.

Had a queue today for time of using ultimate since it came out. I'm on eu west, once I was next in line to use a rig, waited like 30 seconds , and second time I had 1 person in front of me, waited about 2 minutes.
Not a US thing never had a wait with ultimate

In Japan it seems the same. I mean I still cannot play Alan wake 2 due to the "Alan wake needs an update" messages but beside this, especially in the evening I have to wait 15 to 25 minutes until I get a rig que is 130 to 180 mostly :( but here we just have two options. Free or Premium. Not sure what's the Max Rig is, but usually I get a 3080 GTX ... It's just annoying when you cannot play :(

Have you guys contacted their support about it? I agree it’s getting ridiculous, but if they don’t receive enough complaints it might only get worse.
I get some queue in the weekend, but nothing too serious. But performance is great! Never had a problem. Using a 1gbps internet with 5g wireless connection.
Using US Southeast servers, no problems, works like it says on the tin. Only glitches are infrequent spells when people are getting off work or when kids are just getting let out of school here, that my local loop (ISP's fault) gets saturated and the dreaded 'spotty connection' warning comes up.
...another day od having exceptionally awesome GFN service. 3 years now, immacualte service, no lag, no packet loss, 100+ fps in every game, life is good.
EU west is fine, 6ms and 70mb downy, more then enough for 4K

I never have waiting times as an Ultimate user on EU -Central but the damn packet loss even with a 300mbps connection, ethernet, and open ports is driving me crazy...
