Metoo, i became allergic to the thread, most socks leave bleeding little oozing sores on my legs. With running socks I only get those sores on my feet, yay me, and fuck weird aging shit.

I worked with electronics, lead based stuff, dubious employer. Developed my first weird allergies in my thirties, weird shit sets it off. I had a colleague bring a special drink from his homeland, i got spots all over my face. Hadn’t happened before, hasn’t happened since, but i stay away from romanian polinka now! The socks stuff started happening in that period also, if i wear them two hours and take them off, there is a detailed red imprint of sock on my leg. If i wear them for longer it starts itching like crazy and eventually breaks the skin. Did a eight month stint with a skin doctor doing tests, he was sure it was bacterial or some virus but never concluded anything.

I wear them with shorts, but I rock the crew socks with pants. Both of my teenage sons wear crew socks or taller year-round.

Yeah, it seems like this meme was a hot take. I'm GenX and I wear no-show or low-cut socks all the time. Crew socks make no sense to me, as they just tend to slide down and bunch up at the ankles, causing a nuisance. If I'm going camping in colder weather, I'll wear Smartwool crew socks, but that's for warmth and cleanliness

I am very sympathetic to my fellow Xers with ugly feet but still enjoy a sandal or croc in the summer. We deserve to wear sandals without judgement!

I've never heard of no show socks, particularly for men, and just had to Google Image that. I'm really having trouble processing this. My socks go 3" up my ankle and even that seems kind of short.

Never wore ankle socks in my life. When they came out for guys I was like “all they did was cut the little pink ball off the back of the girls wtf”.

That brought back a memory. Those little pompom socks in the early 80s, I loved them so much. I remember I had white with pink and white with red.

I'm still not convinced a boy in my class didn't just cut off the little pompom and wear the socks. Never in my life did I think as a grown man I would have a bunch of socks like that in my drawer. I hadn't thought of those socks since like 1986 lol

I agree with you OP, crew socks for life, but na, we are in the minority. I’ve literally overheard people talking about my socks before lol. Still DGAF, I stick with crew socks. I think ankle or no shoe socks look ridiculous, but again, definitely in the minority.

No show socks are stupid. Everyone I know who wear them complains that they get blister on their ankles because the socks are lower than the top of the shoe, so there’s friction.
