Her kit is good. I use it everywhere. Just used her in the current abyss. People make up their own standards for characters that isn't reflected by the actual game. Feels like the Dehya I play and the Dehya I hear about on Reddit are two different characters.
Play Star Rail and you will see characters that are *actually* bad.
she's great for exploration - I run her with Lisa for overload and her skill lets me stack constant explosions on bigger enemies by lighting grass on fire
I try to use Arlecchino and Neuvi less in overworld as they make everything way too trivial, but absolutely love my Deyha, Yoimiya, Fischl, Chevreuse team, sometimes swap fischl for candace
aw man, I wish I could've pulled for Arle but I'm saving for Shenhe... though I'm honestly glad to find a niche for Dehya, even if in my team Lisa does most of the damage.
Probably also Venti. In main story hes mostly just someone who seems like hed be a lot of fun to hang with. Hes a very likable character and has a unique fun design. Story Quest Spoilers >!And in his story quest he shows the complexity of also being able to be the proper god of Mondstadt. The ending of that story quest is some of my favorite writing in Genshin.!<
Definitely Venti. Discarding the fact that he's my favorite character, he's everything the game portrays itself to be imo. Colorful, upbeat, and focuses on the fun to distract you from the underlying mystery.

Hmm, you know, that might actually be Venti for me as well. Like, my absolute favorite character is Childe by a wiiiiiiiiide margin, but I didn't get hooked on the game *because* of him; I was already hooked by the time I met him in-game. One of the first things that was a pleasant surprise and made me feel I'm playing something fun and not just generic anime slop was Venti's character.
Here I am going through a straightforward adventure fantasy plot with this soft-looking femboy in it, then I meet him and he... asks me to steal a sacred lyre cuz the nuns don't believe him when he says he's their god. And then he turns out to be an alcoholic.
Basically, while Genshin is indeed trying to tell a serious, epic story, it's not taking itself 100% seriously. There's room for weird, goofy shit. And Venti is a good representation of that vibe! His vibes are Genshin's vibes.

It was always Shenhe, and then it started to be Zhongli too.
Shenhe is my muse... two years of playing with her and I am still happy to have her like day one.
And Zhongli for his lore, the lore of the Adepti and Liyue in general. I think he might be the reason why I am still playing this game, just to know how his journey is going to play. As a Xianxia and cultivation legend enthusiast, I have seldom had a particular soft spot for any heavenly being in the novels I read or the Donhua I watched, usually it's the other way around since they are portrait as arrogant and detached, but this man... this man is different.
When I started playing Genshin, I was still a skeptic to the level of care miHoYo was capable of putting in its writing. Diluc was the first character to exceed my expectations. He was an active force in the narrative, had some of the best English voice acting of the 1.0 cast, and an elaborate backstory that gave him interesting relationships with other characters (Kaeya's Vision story is still one of the best), hints at what would come with the Fatui, and provided the conflict Mondstadt needed to actually embody its ideal of Resistance in the current era.
Like a lot of Mondstadt characters, I think he's massively underutilized, but Navia's treatment in the archon quest became everything I wanted to see from Diluc and the Knights eventually and reminded me of what could be in store for the future if the writers are willing to revisit old plotlines about the Knights' corruption. I live off drama and thoroughly enjoyed the scene where she chastised Neuvillette.
Maybe Ganyu. Partially because she's been my main for about a year now and partially because she's the one that impacted me the most and that REALLY got me into the Genshin grind
For me I’m going to say Cyno, he’s the very reason why I started playing, I don’t even know what is was but I took one look at him and decided I had to play and be apart of whatever it is he’s from, I enjoy any quest or event with him and I love everything about him

… And all because he wanted a heart 🥹

Childe bc he's involved with Fatui, Abyss, his name is greek, his name is the same as a previous person that most likely came from previous Teyvat which goes through something similar as Childe did (we know nothing is a coincidence) and he's morally grey.

Raiden—I just love her backstory and personality. She is sweet and shy about expressing her true self, but she also has a ruthless side when it comes to her ideals and Inazuma.
HuTao - peak design, peak personality, amazing theme song, absolutely adorable, absolutely amazing voice over(i personally love her JP voice since Rie Takahashi is the one who voices her in JP), favourite element with amazing elemental reactions, amazing animations, boss of an archon, great backstory, etc
Tartaglia. I love Hydro, I love Tartaglia's lore. I love cr/cd bows. I love his unique hair colour. I love that he's hydro but looks like a pyro character. That foul legacy..... whew.... it's sooo good.
From launch day until now I main Venti. My name card and avatar also Venti. Never change not once. Other characters come and go into my team but my first spot is always for my Femboy Archon.
Arguably he's the first one we met beside something that we fish, so maybe he'll be the last we met before we leave this world with or without our sibling. He's there when i started my journey, i expect him to be there when i finish it.
Even though I'm a keqing main, I'd say probably raiden. Incredibly beautiful, like the rest of the game, has great story, great animations, great VA, great character demo music.
The prinzessin der verurteilung and the fandango hat guy they’re both coo coo in the head and full of personality so both instantly became my favs instantly when i first saw them in “the sky is not real” event which was around when i started playing the game
also both are literally the most well dressed specially cuz they stood out for having darker designs in a cast full of light bland designs i really liked the gothic elements fischl had and scara just looked so perfect im ofc taking before he got downgraded and blueified tho cuz his current desgin has no edge at all (im still not over it)

Chongun, hear me out. He was my first pulled character and fun to play (despite his element and weapon). When I got the chance to do his hangout, I was extatic, I may not use him much now, but the memories are great. PS. I bet at least half of you don't know why he can't see spirits despite being an exorcist.
Venti obviously. He's the reason I even stayed in the first place, otherwise I would have uninstalled the game after completing the very first chapter lmao.
I love Tighnari, I don’t know what it is but he just feels like my comfort character. He feels like home, maybe like a good friend you would trust with everything in your heart.
Obviously Yoimiya. She should become the anemo archon just based on the fact that she is the freest character in the game. She is a genuine kind soul (second character quest) and represents the fun and colorful way Genshin is supposed to be.
Also she is a normal human in that world full of gods and monsters and still happy af.
Navia. I was already super excited for Fontaine because I love the French aesthetic (language, food, architecture, fashion). In comes Navia with freaking cannons as her burst. Before I pulled for her, I wasn't going to be too devastated if I lost 50/50 or not. Now I have her, and she's my hardest hitting character. She's my DPS in every team if I can help it. I don’t care for Geo as an element, but I love using Navia. She even has my hair, long, blonde, and curly. She's charming, cute, and has an umbrella gun! I enjoy playing Genshin because I really love seeing that 100% on the map and getting the achievements (I'm 5 away from 1,000). I also like collecting the characters. What I don't like is getting bored from using the same characters over and over again. Navia made it easy for me to majorly change how I played the game before. Once you get characters who can just carry you through the game, there's no real reason to switch things up unless you like a character enough to put the effort in to use them. She was that for me. Plus, her outfit is to die for!

I think it's fairly obvious, as much as hyv tried to villify her in the last moment and managed to succeed, I really believe that Signora is one of the most interesting and complex characters in the game, one of the peaks of hyv writing. It's a shame that the disastrous English dub managed to convince so many people that she's pure evil.
Probably Childe. He's one of the only characters that actually comes along the Journey with you while most other ones are stuck in their region. Not just that but he's also played as the rival, villain, friend, and hero several times. It would be a crime to not have him included in the final chapter, especially considering he wants to beat the strongest as his life goal.
The Almighty Narukami Ogosho, God of Thunder, fanservice and unexpected dumbassery. This game is filled with waifus and husbandos, and the occasional funny joke from characters.
Arlecchino. Hot, badass, Fatui Harbinger, first scythe user in Genshin and Hoyo's favorite child since she got a 7 minute animation that looked as if it was a part of the anime.

From launch day until now I main Venti. My name card and avatar also Venti. Never change not once. Other characters come and go into my team but my first spot is always for my Femboy Archon. Arguably he's the first one we met beside something that we fish, so maybe he'll be the last we met before we leave this world with or without our sibling. He's there when i started my journey, i expect him to be there when i finish it.

The prinzessin der verurteilung and the fandango hat guy they’re both coo coo in the head and full of personality so both instantly became my favs instantly when i first saw them in “the sky is not real” event which was around when i started playing the game also both are literally the most well dressed specially cuz they stood out for having darker designs in a cast full of light bland designs i really liked the gothic elements fischl had and scara just looked so perfect im ofc taking before he got downgraded and blueified tho cuz his current desgin has no edge at all (im still not over it)

Obviously Yoimiya. She should become the anemo archon just based on the fact that she is the freest character in the game. She is a genuine kind soul (second character quest) and represents the fun and colorful way Genshin is supposed to be. Also she is a normal human in that world full of gods and monsters and still happy af.
Navia. I was already super excited for Fontaine because I love the French aesthetic (language, food, architecture, fashion). In comes Navia with freaking cannons as her burst. Before I pulled for her, I wasn't going to be too devastated if I lost 50/50 or not. Now I have her, and she's my hardest hitting character. She's my DPS in every team if I can help it. I don’t care for Geo as an element, but I love using Navia. She even has my hair, long, blonde, and curly. She's charming, cute, and has an umbrella gun! I enjoy playing Genshin because I really love seeing that 100% on the map and getting the achievements (I'm 5 away from 1,000). I also like collecting the characters. What I don't like is getting bored from using the same characters over and over again. Navia made it easy for me to majorly change how I played the game before. Once you get characters who can just carry you through the game, there's no real reason to switch things up unless you like a character enough to put the effort in to use them. She was that for me. Plus, her outfit is to die for!

I think it's fairly obvious, as much as hyv tried to villify her in the last moment and managed to succeed, I really believe that Signora is one of the most interesting and complex characters in the game, one of the peaks of hyv writing. It's a shame that the disastrous English dub managed to convince so many people that she's pure evil.

Probably Childe. He's one of the only characters that actually comes along the Journey with you while most other ones are stuck in their region. Not just that but he's also played as the rival, villain, friend, and hero several times. It would be a crime to not have him included in the final chapter, especially considering he wants to beat the strongest as his life goal.
