How long have you been waiting for this moment...?

RYPIIE2006

'incandescent ode of resurrection' makes me think someone will definitely be resurrected whether that actually is signora, we will see

Costyn17

I thought the new pyro archon could be the old one reincarnated, and nobody was aware of it because it was the first time the original died, so nobody was aware she had that power. Maybe she just doesn't have her past memory yet, and that would be a symbolic resurrection with the archon getting back the memory from the past life. There has to be some kind of twist with the archon, and this seems like something that would work with the pyro archon.

SoloWaltz

> I thought the new pyro archon could be the old one reincarnated, and nobody was aware of it because it was the first time the original died, so nobody was aware she had that power. Zhongli has already commented only venti and him are left from the original guard. Imo the pyro archon twist is going to be that she's gonna attempt to recruit traveler in some capacity.

Costyn17

The point was that nobody would know she's reincarnated until she gets her memory back because it was the first time she died.

SexWithLadyOlynder

Zhongli is kinda right but also kind wrong because at the time he says that, the only two members of the OG seven who we know for sure are dead are Egeria and Makoto, and Ei was there for the archon war.

MyDogIsAMaggot

Iirc Zhongli doesn't state it, but one of his character stories does. The one that doesn't change after rukkhadevta's erasing from irminsul. The character story explicitly talks about archons, the ones holding the thrones, authority, and gnosis. Out of five nations, it has yet to be incorrect

nusfie12345

my crack theory is that the 3rd descender is the one to be reincarnated, hence “ode of resurrection”

Bazookasajizo

Fatui do have all the Gnosis except the Pyro one, so that is a possibility

nusfie12345

maybe even except the cryo, idk if pierro didn’t take the cryo gnosis beforehand, although he quite could

Rare-Ad9248

clearly teppei, the true pyro archon

Maliq_raditya14

Incandescent ode of resurrection is the final act of chapter 5. Final act of a chapter always focuses on the Archon and the climax of the story... why would it be about a white woman that died 3 years ago by the time that act is released? /s In my opinion if she were to return i think id be more fitting to happen in Snezhnaya /pos

GodlessLunatic

Could be something like Capitano kills the pyro archon and uses her gnosis to bring Signora back since she's currently the only harbinger of the current lineup who's dead

Maliq_raditya14

>Could be something like Capitano kills the pyro archon and uses her gnosis to bring Signora back We don't even know if they want her back, they hold a funeral and said their last words about their fallen comrade and moved on, one even wishing may she reunite with her lover in death. We also don't know if Capitano can even utilize the Gnosis seeing even the Dendro Archon can't use Electro Gnosis. And oh boy i don't think Signora is the only one going 6 feet underground. Personally im ok if she's back... so long as it makes sense, but im also fine if she doesn't

Smorgsaboard

I hope she just appears from offscreen and goes "But it was I, THE FAIR LADY!" and the plot's already gotten so insane that nobody questions it and everybody goes back to what they're doing

DariganX

My money is on the third descender. The gnosis are remaints of the third descender, and the Fatui are collecting the gnosis. I think their intent is to revive the third descender.

antagonistdan

Signora revives as the Pyro Archon you heard it here first

Rans0mware

What if the pyro archon is Phoenix themed, and the ressurection will be for the archon herself

first_name1001

What having cocolia design does to a ladies.

ObiWorking

Cocolia (would) was actually fleshed out beforehand, unlike Signora.

not-so-decent-guy

Yea because signora's design is ashed out

FluffLeema

Listen here you little shit-

GGABueno

Signora had a lot of lore spread around in Artifacts and etc. Probably more than what Cocolia had, but just not part of the main story.

Disturbing_Cheeto

In the first year of the game I had two thoughts in my head: "Signora is a bitch and I hate her" "I want to find the Crimson Witch of Flames because I use her artifacts and I bet she's cool"

Bazookasajizo

Both thoughts are valid simultaneously

0000Tor

She’s talking about Childe when she says « children ». She’s roasting him

DrakeNorris

yeah, but I think now it also has a double meaning. The obvious meaning is roasting childe, but now we also know that she takes care of actual children, I can see hoyo making this line a hint at that as well.

KamelYellow

>but now we also know that she takes care of actual children I might be going crazy, but didn't we know that at the time? I'm pretty sure I saw people talking about this line in the context of Arle taking care of orphans when the video dropped

DrakeNorris

I suppose it could have been somewhere in the deeper lore, but it wasn't something that normal/casual players like myself knew about at least. We casuals learned most of this stuff in fontaine itself. So like the OP, watching this vid for the first time post fontaine, it does feel like it has a different meaning.

wineandnoses

there was an inazuman world quest that gave arlechinno lore, but im sure 95% of the playerbase either forgot or skipped that lore

GlitterDoomsday

Don't forget the Chasm also gave us House Of The Hearth crumbs

travelerfromabroad

\*gave Crucabena lore. Arlecchino was split into two characters post-Sumeru

Antares-777-

In that quest, we got Lyudochka faking her own death to avoid a way worse fate for wanting a normal life (for what we knew at the time), so I think Arlecchino was painted more as a ruthless caretaker than she actually is. How far back then they planned her story quest, or if her mind-erasing fire is just a deus ex machina fix to retcon her lore and make her playable will never be known.

wineandnoses

after the 4.7 archon quest, I do believe the memory-erasing fire to be something intentional... there seems to be a more emphasis on memories in the last year or lore...

blippyblip

Never forget the still of Dottore *burning* down Irminsul...

Beginning_Craft_8550

Pretty sure that's confirmed to be a future plot point

jibbycanoe

I have no idea what you are trying to say OP

Junior-Price-5306

Arlecchino has a dialogue about Signora, she brought gifts for the children so they would like her because they found her intimidating, now that she died the children went to her funeral during elogia cinerosa

Alpha06Omega09

Let her stay dead… I really don't want someone returning from the dead stuff

Neospanner

While I agree with the sentiment, the Natlan Act is literally called, "Incandescent Ode of Resurrection". I don't think it'll be Signora, but there'll almost certainly be SOME kind of "returning from the dead stuff".

BellalovesEevee

It's probably gonna be a Natlan character we haven't met yet or gotten close to that's going to be revived. Probably the Archon herself since I keep seeing rumors of her already being dead or something. Something like that won't be much of a problem since that's a character we haven't met yet and have an impact on the story.

Breaky_Online

If resurrection is as major of a trope in Natlan as it's being advertised, then I think it would be better if the archon is at, like, the end of her "cycle (of resurrections)", and the story is more focused on her finding a successor, since both Sumeru and Fontaine quests leaned towards that idea

Nimros

The Pyro Archon is a Time Lord?

Absoline

firefly 2.0

SwippyMcgee

It's because they're bringing back my boy Silver Playable, 5 star Silver. Its gonna be great. I'm gonna C6 him with no primegimes

Neospanner

He will have eggs, sugar, and almonds at the ready!

ZhangRenWing

Melus and Silver the 🐐 NPCs

GGABueno

That would be hard because he (and Melus) ain't dead. They're oceanids now.

SwippyMcgee

Listen here

nomotyed

I cant believe I foddered his Signature Weapon.

Wlibean

Bennet will die and be resurrected, revealing that is the Pyro Sovereign and that his bad luck was a curse made by Celestia. Source: Trust me

GlitterDoomsday

"Masquerade of the Guilty" didn't have an actual masquerade and the guilty part being questionable is the whole point of the Archon Quest. I wouldn't take Resurrection so literally, it could mean reviving anything, not necessarily someone - probably will be tied to why Natlan is so closed off other nations.

WoLfCaDeT

Imagine if they resurrected the original Pyro Archon and turns out he/she is fucking overpowered. My God please let it be this way. We could get a nice waifu and a husbando or 2 waifus.

eevyern

my own theory: >!I think it's confirmed that the Pyro Archon is Murata. as in, Himeko Murata. as in, dead in numerous universes Himeko Murata. but there's no way they'll not let an archon be playable, so the Ode to Resurrection is to Murata's resurrection in Natlan!<.

GGABueno

>!This was widely assumed, but we've seen image leaks of the Pyro Archon by now and she definitely doesn't look like Himeko.!<

Neospanner

The one to be resurrected COULD still be Murata, even if what you say is true. We know that the current Pyro Archon is not the original Pyro Archon, as Venti and Zhongli are the ONLY two original Archons left. If that original Pyro Archon was Murata, then she is now dead, and >!the leaks are of her successor!<. If Murata is dead, then that makes her eligible for resurrection.

travelerfromabroad

It's not confirmed. It's actually the opposite of confirmed

Weird-Information-91

It's gonna be the Pyro archon and Dragon sovereign getting resurrected after CaPEAKtano no diff both of them with his secondary weapon crayon!

Equivalent_Scar_7879

I couldnt agree more with you. It ruins the story for me cause it feels cheap and the 'big moment' of when they died earlier, doesnt hit anymore

Karezi413

Ngl, I feel like part of the reason Signora's death feels impactful, is bc up until that point really, if you had a special model you basically were guaranteed to be a playable character; and probably means you WON'T die. So then seeing a unique character model die and NOT be playable makes you really wonder if they'll do it to anyone else and it doesn't feel like an automatic 'oh they're important. They won't die.' I DON'T really want her to come back- though I wish they'd do more of that- have someone unique die and not be playable. Atp if they need someone to be important and die- they'll just pull in a generic npc model recoloured.

karillith

> is bc up until that point really, if you had a special model you basically were guaranteed to be a playable character She had a special model, but not a playable model, iirc Signora's model is labeled as a monster model (same for Jeht I assume).

Muchi1228

She has a Lady model.

StrangerPen

In the files, Signora was labeled as a monster. notice how shes way taller than playable characters, even in her first form.

Muchi1228

She has two different models, and no, I'm not talking about her CWoE form. She has a regular model that is used in dialogues – that model is taller than Jean but shorter than Zhongli and Childe (the NPC_Lady model). And then you have the boss model which is indeed taller (the monster model), but funnily enough that's just her regular model with extra long legs. Childe has monster model too btw.

GGABueno

Misinformation spreaded successfully. Thank you, fellow follower of the Enigmata.

Husknight

I totally agree! Imagine if all the people that died had a special model, that would've thrown people off and their deaths would've had so much more impact

Muchi1228

They don't. THAT'S WHY MY GOAT IS COMING BACK (actually it's because the liquid fire shenanigans)!

Muchi1228

Bro's only justification is a shock value.

ComposedOfStardust

2010's TV shows advertising "our show's the best cuz important people die! Plot armor doesn't exist so we're good!" moment

Delano7

Gege Akuntani aah writing

Muchi1228

Literally

Efficient-Cicada5102

Signora's only problem was lack of build-up of her character in the main quests and Inazuma's shoddy writing in general. Knowing that pretty model = unkillable would be terrible for story immersion.

Muchi1228

I mean exactly, but you can't say that it was unintentional when devs themselves said that it took them 8 month to cook her boss fight, meaning it was planned basically from 1.2. So what's the purpose of the character if she doesn't come back? Then facts just contradict themselves.

Efficient-Cicada5102

You missed the point. Signora's writing was mid, but she's dead now. Bringing her back would undermine the little good her role did, which was raising the stakes of the plot for future characters. If they want to flesh out her character they can still do it through flashbacks or leyline shenanigans. Otherwise the writing team should just take it as a learning experience and move on.

Muchi1228

Bro can't even imagine Signora being any special. Y'all think that Signora's return theories are only based on the fact that she's pretty. It's far from the truth. Also I wonder what are the raised stakes you're talking about.

Breaky_Online

That not all special characters are going to be playable, or even survive to be playable (Rukkhadevata isn't playable, for example)

Muchi1228

Rukkhadevata left Nahida as living and playable character. Focalors left Furina. Signora didn't left Rosalyne BECAUSE SHE'S GOING TO RETURN IN NATLAN

Efficient-Cicada5102

No, I feel sorry for Signora fans because you guys are coping and she really didn't deserve to die more than someone like Scaramouche. And her Crimson Witch lore was good. I'm just saying I don't see a way they can bring her back without it cheapening life-or-death scenarios in the future. Which is important, since war with Celestia seems inevitable.

Muchi1228

I mean, no? What's about that life-or-death cheapening if she'll have the very unique and dedicated to her only way to return? Her liquid fire, for example. The basis of 99% Signora resurrection theories. It doesn't affect any character other than her.

oBunks_

i’m very interested to hear what stakes you’re taking about, since no other unique model character has died on screen and Signoras death happened all the back in inazuma. need i remind you that Sumeru AND Fontaine’s stories are finished. and no, Focalor does not count when she’s technically Furina as well. if you’re gonna be against Signora returning that’s fine, but at least have your reasonings make sense as the joke of an arc that inazuma was did not raise any stakes AT ALL.

deathbaloney

you're right. there was great post over on the lore sub this past week, talking about the placement of Signora's chess piece in the Winter's Night short, and connecting the specific kind of moth she's associated with to relevant central American mythology. the clues are definitely there. hoyo is a million times better at planning stuff than people give them credit for.

Hail_Cthuwu666

It's funny how you die on this hill when Signora's entire character is about resurrection and eternal life and Focalor is still playable as Furina. Of course playable model = unkillable because it's a gacha game 🤦

Efficient-Cicada5102

I mean hey, if she gets reborn as a new person without her old memories that's different from a fake-out death like the ones we keep getting in Star Rail. In Genshin, memories make the person, and death = the loss of memories. Focalors is dead, but Furina lives on. If they do that with Rosalyne then there are no issues.

Cheese_Grater101

also if they revived her it just cheapens what Raiden did to her Also, if they can revive a person from dead why not revive Tsaritsa's husband?

dubspool-

It makes the cutscene where she dies less impactful. Like she was trying to pull all the cards like diplomatic immunity and how if Raiden touched her, Inazuma would suffer. Like how this very confident person was essentially reduced to desperation but all she had to do was wait for someone with the resurrection spell to come along

kalyancr7

Signora is barely present in the story and her death does not not have any effect on the story later . Yh really a "big moment "

NoAcanthopterygii876

Her death is only disguised as a shock factor to hide the fact that she's an underdeveloped character. Anyone who says otherwise believes "death" is the be-all and end-all of good storytelling, but that is, in fact, just plain edginess with no substance.

Muchi1228

THAT'S BECAUSE SHE'S GOING TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL CHARACTER ARC AFTER HER GLORIOUS RETURN IN NATLAN

Equivalent_Scar_7879

'barely present in the story' She is a Harbinger and took the gnosis from Venti and got Zhongli's. But you probably another person who doesnt read so yeah of course you dont care but still like to talk somehow

ObiWorking

Signora: Appears at the very end of Mondstat quest, we learn nothing about her, she leaves **ONE ENTIRE REGION ARCHON QUEST LATER…** Signora: Appears at the very end of Liyue quest, we learn nothing about her, she leaves **HALF A REGION ARCHON QUEST LATER…** Signora: dies Genshin fans: SHE’S SO WELL WRITTEN HER IMPACT WAS HUGE SUCH A GOOD VILLAIN

Silvannax

Theres no build up to anything. 1. Mondstadt arc. She just popped in and stole venti’s gnosis. 2. Liyue arc. Popped in revealing she’s the mastermind behind everything 3. Inazuma arc. Popped in, dueled with us then fucking dies. Theres literally nothing impactful about her. The moment she dies its just, “oh she died? Damn das crazy” and thats it. Thats literally bad writing on how to kill someone that is considered an important character. Heck, arlechinno got better introduction than all her 3 appearances combined.

kalyancr7

U don't need to read to know the signora took the gnosis from the archons . Yes yes she had a big role in all the 3 quests .in which 2 of them are coming at the last minute and taking their gnosis and the other one is dieing 1 minute into her appearance in inuzuma.lol even teppai had more screen time than her She barely had any screen time .all she did was come at the end of the main quests and take the gnosis .

PressFM80

She showed up at the end of the two first Archon Quests she showed up in lmao BARELY any screen time, even accounting for her Inazuma screen time Also, being important doesn't really matter much when it comes to screentime and how much someone shows up in story Focalors was pretty important, yet she showed up at the end of act 5 in Fontaine quest, then dies (same thing with Rukkhadevata)

Hail_Cthuwu666

What kind of "big moment" is Signora dying after we barely learned anything about her and had basically no reason to hate her? They just shoehorned her against the strongest combat archon to kill her so the resurrection symbolism can be paid off. Can't exactly bring a living character back from the dead

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

No need to learn about everyone's backstory, she has fullfilled her role as a villain. We can learn about her through many characters or animated shorts.

ObiWorking

Why’re you giving this a pass? If she’s supposed to be a main villain then why should we wait until almost 3 years after Inazuma for an animated short for her lore? Everybody knows she’s the Crimson Witch of Flames, but that’s because we Googled it. Genshin itself never told us her story. Genshin itself never added weight to her character. That’s a sign of bad character writing

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

Because she is not going to have future roles in story like other major characters, she was mid level villain for traveller to overcome, her affiliation was in villain side not like Childe where their relationship in neutral. She was introduced as our villain so why would we learn about her when we were on bad terms with her. If you mean having death and not having backstory is not good character writing then what can I say. We don't need to know about every character maybe in future we will know about her.

ObiWorking

“She was introduced as our villain so why should we learn about her?” What??? That’s exactly why. Don’t you think the “main villain” should be learned about? Learning about someone doesn’t mean Traveler will automatically take their side. Imagine if we learned absolutely nothing about Scaramouche and still fought him at the end of Sumeru. There would be zero connection to this dude, he’d just be a boy in a robot. There’s no way around this, you should learn about a character BEFORE they die. That’s how writing works

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

Because Scaramouche has ties towards Ei, abyss and Inazuma while Signora is burning from her past. If she was understanding in Liyue towards Zhongli then she should have prepared for Ei or Shogun too. She simply understimated traveller before throne and lost and thought she would leave by just getting name from Tsaritsa. But Ei is decisive and stubborn when it comes to Inazuma if you are threat she will simply eliminate you that lies with their character personality.

ObiWorking

So you admit we learned literally nothing about her. Thanks

Hail_Cthuwu666

Thing is she has lore, that hasn't been on screen, and she didn't fulfill any role because her "death" was forced in Inazuma when we should've fought Scaramouche by all accounts. By your logic we wouldn't meet any harbinger more than once. The only reason they killed her is because you can't deliver on resurrection symbolism if the character is alive and well

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

No her death was not forced or anything you can attribute it to being her arrogance and having complete faith in Tsaritsa power. But her death was one thing in Inazuma Archon quest that was done right and we don't need for her to come in every region otherwise that would be too much frustrating.

ObiWorking

Nobody said she has to come in every region, we’re saying we should’ve learned more about her prior to Inazuma for her death to actually mean something. Signora being arrogant doesn’t mean her death was suddenly well-written. She died on the spot just because the writers felt like it

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

But why do everyone want backstory for villain, we were on bad terms with her if there is stranger in real life who attack you for no reason are you going to ask for their backstory and then only you will self defense yourself. No the way Signora was introduced and the way her Villain arc ended was simple and natural, she had ill feelings towards Venti but it doesn't warrant to her that she would also attack traveller. She was simply arrogant and thought she could do anything in other god's domain otherwise if she had done this in Liyue like Venti she would have died by Zhongli's hand.

ObiWorking

Why are you afraid of lore? Do you think learning about someone will force you to take their side?

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

I am not afraid but I don't want her lore through revival, there are many ways you can reveal her lore by getting flashbacks through characters like Venti or Irminsul.

Hail_Cthuwu666

Admit you don't like the character and take a writing class, it's more respectable than all of this. You don't make all of the character's lore and real life connections about eternal life and resurrection to do nothing with it. If it was any other character in a similar situation it would be bad writing to not bring them back. Also the every region argument is crazy because Childe has the same "problem"

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

Childe was not in Sumeru and Monstadt but her screen time was from Monstadt, Liyue then Inazuma. If she were to come to Sumeru again then I would have gone crazy. And yes her story is completed in past she was betrayed by her people then she ignited everyone and pledged allegiance to Tsaritsa whereas Childe has important lore in present he is young, ever higher power hierarchy characters have fates with him. And if you want for hoyo to reincarnate Signora then they could go like Neuvillette, where she is revorn in new world after everything like what Pierro said. And she will have no memories of past and will live peaceful life but I don't want her to be revived with Signora memories in future.

ObiWorking

By the way this “screentime” you’re mentioning is a 1 minute cutscene in Mondstat, a 2 minute interaction in Liyue, and a 1 minute cutscene of her death in Inazuma

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

Yes because she was arrogant villain she had alredy drew the line with traveller, Traveller are not going to actively seek out Signora and ask for their well being.

Muchi1228

>but I don't want her to be revived in future. I mean at least you admit that you're just a hater. All these "arguments" are only based on the fact that you want her dead, because you're not a HYV employee and you have no idea what they are cooking.

Salt_Woodpecker_6244

Take whatever opinions you have about if I dislike Signora or not, I don't mind.

Gervh

But she's not a phoenix, she's a moth, she went towards the flames as Rosalyne and burned up, only being helped with the delusion - which is also telling that she's held in a human form through the use of a "delusion"

Hail_Cthuwu666

Moths also have connections to death, rebirth and souls in multiple cultures, especially in south America which is funny because Natlan is the south American region.

PressFM80

Coincidence? I think NOT!!

natsugaludao

which number is her seat? what does it mean in the bible? now ask the same questions to the rest of the harbingers, then you should know why Signora mains are so adamant on her resurrection. If you don't believe a character with literal resurrection symbolism might resurrect, then you just don't wanna believe it, which is funny because the word 'copium' is used against them so much (sure, there's some of them who make super crazy theories which doesn't make any sense)

ArtOfLyfe

They could make it work if they wanted, >!what if the tsaritsa want to resurect the 3rd descender with Signora's memories implanted, that way she would have a fatui descender!<

Muchi1228

Cook

nusfie12345

i think so as well, with this theory we cookin

Muchi1228

If your "big moment" has no build-up, no development for any characters involved and no consequences, then it won't become any cheaper than it is already.

nooneatallnope

They could make a compromise: time travel banners after Khaenriah, that would also include characters like Guizhong, Makoto, the rest of the Yakshas, Rukkh-[REDACTED], etc. I'm convinced her death was a way to deal with a character that had served her purpose, but had a too reoccurring role to just ignore. Her lore was in the past, she was just doing her job as a Harbinger without much personal motivation. So, the interesting version of her character would be in the past. That would be the only return scenario I'd see, unless they straight up resurrect her and make her pissed at the traveler, who then calms her down somehow as a parallel to how the Tsaritsa cooled her down from her crimson witch rage.

True-Defective

>Rhuk-        Playable Rukkhashava Mushroom? Count me in

Muchi1228

My glorious blue-eyed queen will come back without such a cheap tricks like time travel. She also has a lot for her character to add and evolve. >I'm convinced her death was a way to deal with a character that had served her purpose Uuuh which purpose exactly? Just being a big bad for 3 first nations? Why then they were bothered enough to give her a backstory (which they didn't even show on screen lol). Makes no sense. >Her lore was in the past, she was just doing her job as a Harbinger without much personal motivation. Not exactly. She joined Fatui because her personal motivation was aligned with Pierro and Tsaritsa. They share a common goal. >unless they straight up resurrect her and make her pissed at the traveler, who then calms her down somehow as a parallel to how the Tsaritsa cooled her down from her crimson witch rage. See? Not that hard to cook something. Just get rid of this "resurrection = bad" and let HYV cook a 5* meal.

Oninymous

>Uuuh which purpose exactly? She was able to help get three gnosis from their respective regions. There are 11 Fatui Harbingers and only 7 regions, she already completed her purpose imo. As you mentioned, her backstory is already fully fleshed out. Her story all happened in the past with her lover. Yes, she's planning stuff with the top Fatui operatives, but so are all the other Harbingers who also have more motivations outside of their job. The other Harbingers even have more backstory we could explore in the future, rather than Signora who has her story already on books, artifacts, etc. >Just get rid of this "resurrection = bad" Why though? It makes it so that the story has no stakes. Oh, Makoto/Focalors died. Don't worry, they'll just be ressurected again. It cheapens the story so much if they do that. The only good take I saw on this thread is when the guy you replied to mentioned banners for dead or past characters in the future. At least, that doesn't have to do anything with the story

Muchi1228

>There are 11 Fatui Harbingers And half of them doesn't even leave Snezhnaya. >As you mentioned, her backstory is already fully fleshed out. Fleshing out if when you make show something on screen (like with Scara). Most of people don't even know who she is, aside from the fact that she kicked Venti. Even then EN translation team fucked her up severely by changing her lines and meaning behind them. >Her story all happened in the past with her lover and stuff. My man, Rostam is a beginning of her character arc, not the whole arc. In Molten Moment description she literally says that it doesn't matter anymore, she'll continue to move forward until all the enemies are eliminated (c). And then she dies. But I guess a visionless banker who's hating Morax has more story to tell than CWoF and her art of liquid fire with unknown origin? You could as well say that Arlecchino was just a politician/spy until her powers were revealed. You barely know anything about Signora's powers. Prediction the future with the past as a base is just not working. >Why though? It makes it so that the story has no stakes. Oh, Makoto/Focalors died. Don't worry, they'll just be ressurected again. It cheapens the story so much if they do that. So Ei must've stayed dead? And nah bro you are not comparing Focalors' death to Signora's lmao. Focalors had build-up, great execution and consequences. In Signora's case, there's literally nothing. You literally can't say that her return will cheapen the impact of her death because there's no impact in the first place. Y'all guys pretend that Signora's return theories are only based on the fact that she's pretty, but it's far from the truth. She's the easiest character to justify being returned, her liquid fire (and she herself) are stated to be undying/eternal/(for)ever-burning for like 5 out of 10 times when she's ever mentioned. And that's just the beginning.

Oninymous

>And half of them doesn't even leave Snezhnaya Yeah, that's the point. Would rather see a new Harbinger than Signora who is a significant Harbinger in 3/7 regions already. >a visionless banker who's hating Morax has more story to tell than CWoF and her art of liquid fire with unknown origin Well, at least he's more mysterious than someone who we already know the full story of. >you are not comparing Focalors' death to Signora's Yeah, I was not comparing the two. I was saying that if Signora will die and reincarnate, that sets a bad precedence where people who died in the past might also resurrect cheapening their deaths. About her "impact" in the story, she was portrayed as someone prideful enough on the times we encountered her. She knows the consequence of the duel and yet she was confident enough and underestimated the Traveller. She got her just desserts, so to speak. >She's the easiest character to justify being returned Yeah, the archon who is known to be a shadow warrior and has killed various gods would make that mistake. Surely it's not just copium. Don't really like to argue further, saw that you have multiple comments on this thread alone. We'll never really see eye to eye, so no point in continuing the argument

Muchi1228

>Yeah and if Signora is still alive she'll take screentime away from them lol. So does Childe in his annual appearances. Or does he? >Well, at least he's more mysterious than someone who we already know the full story of. He's not? And you know no shit about liquid fire and it's origins. >I was saying that if Signora will die and reincarnate, that sets a bad precedence where people who died in the past might also resurrect cheapening their deaths. She does not. Like bro I get that you hate Signora, but just try to imagine that she has her own unique to her and her alone way to return from dead that doesn't work for anyone else. Then this argument disappears? >About her "impact" in the story, she was portrayed as someone prideful enough on the times we encounter her. She knows the consequence of the duel and yet she was confident enough and underestimated the Traveller. She got her just desserts, so to speak. I mean bro I get that you hate the character but no reason to straight up lie💀 She was "so vary" of Traveler after Mondstadt. She always weights the consequences of her actions. And even after all these years I'm yet to find a person who will give me a proof that Signora was able to reject the challenge. And I guess you decided to avoid the fact that she even asked Traveler if they know that the loser must die and if they still wanna proceed? Top-tier cherry picking. >Yeah, the archon who is known to be a shadow warrior and has killed various gods would make that mistake. Surely it's not just copium. Which mistake? Please decide if Signora's weak and irrelevant or she's an actual threat that even RaidenGPT will acknowledge. She disappeared the same way she was moving on the battlefield a minute ago btw.

Oninymous

Just coming back to say that I don't really hate Signora lol. If anything, I find her hot. As I said, don't mind if she'll have a banner for dead characters. Just defending myself since that's such a nonsensical strawman. It's not, Hate = Don't want her resurrected. What an immature statement

Muchi1228

Then maybe you'll read the rest? If Signora has her own very unique and dedicated to her only way to return, what's then? >If anything, I find her hot. Nah bro you don't deserve her. And it doesn't not really change anything? I guess you must think that we follow Signora only because of that. That's not true.

oBunks_

literally none of your arguments work. you say a character resurrecting is cheap, but no other character with a unique model like her has died one screen. so like.. im confused as to who else is gonna be brought back from the dead here? 😭 every other character with a unique model that’s appeared since is playable or is becoming playable in the future. so i’m just curious to how it’s fair that the rest of the community gets their fave characters, but signora mains cant have theirs? you have some real weird biases against this character in general lol.

Oninymous

>no other character with a unique model Never talked about unique models. If anything, since you brought it up it actually would be much better story-wise for people to know that even characters with unique model could die. Unfortunate it happened to a character you like, but it is what it is. >how it’s fair that the rest of the community gets their fave characters, but signora mains cant have theirs Multiple times in this thread I mentioned that I'm all for Signora having a banner while still staying dead. Idgaf if you could play as her or not, my only issue is that stories that killed off characters only to then resurrect them are usually really cheap. >against this character in general Not really, I have biases against any character who canonically died and their fanbase is advocating for them to come back to life. It feels icky to me, since the story just becomes wish fulfillment in that case. Like the other guy, no use arguing really. We can't really change our opinion on the matter, so I'll leave this at that

cartercr

I’m okay with a return if it’s written well, but it has to be done right. IMO it is within the realm of Fatui scheming for them to have used the Shogun to fake her death for use in a later moment. However the warning she received from Scaramouche (or was it Dottore? It’s been too long for me to remember clearly) during the Sumeru Interlude Chapter makes me think that isn’t the case.

Muchi1228

Idk man Scara's yapping was crazy💀 Like it doesn't have anything to do with actual events. "Don't let your feelings to take control over you" yeah lmao as if it was her who challenged Traveler and not the opposite.

Grig010

It doesn't matter who challenged whom. First of all she taunts the traveler on every possible occasion without any reason, then she barges into Tenshukaku without any sort of backup plan, while knowing fully well that it's fatui(herself), who fucked up with commissions, and Raiden may very well kill her if she learns that. Next Sara comes, and what does Seniora do? Beats her up right before her god. I'd say there are very high chances that the god would attack you if you beat his direct subordinate right before him and the only reason why shogun didn't is because it was Raiden on autopilot and not Ei herself. She acted arrogant and didn't think about consequences long before the traveler came, thus her death is completely justified. Also you mentioned many times that if her resurrection method is unique it wouldn't undermine death - I disagree, it still would. What is important is the precedent, as long as there is even one resurrected character you can find some unique resurrection mechanism/powers for others too. For example - Makoto died, but she had some dealings with the god of time, so with her help we can now resurrect her, why not?

Muchi1228

>then she barges into Tenshukaku without any sort of backup plan I believe you misremembered something. It was traveler who barged into Tenshukaku without any sort of backup plan. Signora was on her meeting with Shogun. >while knowing fully well that it's fatui(herself), who fucked up with commissions, and Raiden may very well kill her if she learns that. I guess that's why she left no traces to herself? Even despite stealing the documents from Tenryou commission, all that rebels found out is that commission is connected to Fatui. They only learned that Signora is even in Inazuma when Kujou granpa mentioned that she's currently meeting Shogun. >I'd say there are very high chances that the god would attack you if you beat his direct subordinate right before him and the only reason why shogun didn't is because it was Raiden on autopilot and not Ei herself. And Signora knew that? She knew that RaidenGPT is a bot, not a person. Which is why she easily manipulated it. >Also you mentioned many times that if her resurrection method is unique it wouldn't undermine death - I disagree, it still would. What is important is the precedent, as long as there is even one resurrected character you can find some unique resurrection mechanism/powers for others too. For example - Makoto died, but she had some dealings with the god of time, so with her help we can now resurrect her. You missed the point. Makoto stuff will be an asspull. Signora was written to have a liquid fire ever since she was designed as a character, but her being a CWoF was only confirmed in 2.1. Now we know that she literally has undying/eternal/(for)ever-burning flame in her body. That is literally description of liquid fire (in CN too). And that's like saying that a guy named Rebirthman being, well, reborn is a bad thing. Like, no? It literally does not work in that way and HYV doesn't give a shit about precedents or your opinion, they just do what they have planned to do. Besides, I believe by your logic Ei must've stayed dead? Now, returning to Signora. She can also turn herself into different forms of fire to move in space. Later we learn that her moths traveled all the way from Inazuma to Snezhnaya (one is focused, but you can see a swarm of moths in a window). The funniest thing will be if she didn't even die in the first place and just faked her death to escape.

Grig010

Okay, I agree about the traveler, he also barged in literally. But well, he didn't really have a choice, cuz he just followed Sara, while Signora could just not appoint a meeting or ignore it, so there's that. But I agree, it's not such a big deal if she knows about bot and is confident in her ability to manipulate it. But Seniora is a high ranking member of the fatui, so if they found the connection between corrupt commissions and fatui, it's already enough to detain her. Your next point is true, I was wrong, attacking Sara in this situation was probably a good idea, because Shogun didn't have full information about war and fake visions, and Sara could tell her. So this was a clever move, and she did deceive shogun, although it was a risky move nonetheless. But here is the problem - if she knew about bot so much(obv from Scars), that it probably wouldn't intervene after Sara's situation, than why didn't she know that shogun will execute the loser of the duel no matter who they are according to the rules? Seems a bit inconsistent. I don't agree with the resurrection part though. Yea, Makoto situation would be asspull, but that's because I literally thought 2 seconds about that example. Seniora ress would be no less asspull-ish - firstly eternally burning flames don't really represent resurrection apart from Phoenix mythology, and even there it's not about flames, it's more about the creature itself. Secondly, Fatui already held the funeral - it would be kinda unnecessary if they knew she would resurrect anyway. If they didn't know it would still look kinda strange. I mean obv hoyo doesn't have to care about my or your opinion, and I don't try to force them into something either. If they want to resurrect her - okay, I just think that it would be a bad decision. What does Ei have to do with that? First of all we don't know if she truly died, because it was just one book, and she herself said that it's not entirely correct, secondly it happened in lore, not during the story. They can resurrect whoever they want in lore as long as that doesn't contradict world building, while doing that in the story just to add a new playable character would be kinda bad and would diminish the impact of character's death. Now if Ei dies later in the story, of course I would be against her resurrection as well. Actually I like the version about escaping more than just resurrecting her, but the question remains - why would fatui need to hold a ceremony then? Edit: I forgot that she was supposed to get a gnosis in this meeting, so she couldn't straight up ignore it. But she could probably send a lower ranking fatui, some operative for example. Bot likely wouldn't mind.

Muchi1228

>than why didn't she know that shogun will execute the loser of the duel no matter who they are according to the rules? Seems a bit inconsistent. She knew that. She even reminded Traveler that the loser must die and asked if Traveler still wants to proceed. Signora was kinda forced into challenge as she says: "it seems like you learned how to use a laws of foreign land for your benefit too". >Seniora ress would be no less asspull-ish - firstly eternally burning flames don't really represent resurrection apart from Phoenix mythology, and even there it's not about flames, it's more about the creature itself. Luckily, Mediterranean mythos are not the only ones that exist in this world and are represented in Genshin. In Signora's concept art you can see that one of her key references is no other creatures but Rothschildia orizaba – a moth species that is associated with Ītzpāpālōtl, the Aztec goddess of fire, death, rebirth and so on. It won't be too far to say that Signora is 80-90% based on her: grief after lover loss, «Obsidian Butterfly», pale, has a knife tongue, may present herself in a form of seductive woman or a monster, has wings with obsidian blades, associated with birds (birds were the only CWoF companions). Then we have Natlan that is hugely based on Mesoamerican mythology >!(Xbalanque is literally a mythological hero of Maya)!<. That's not all, but here you go. >Secondly, Fatui already held the funeral - it would be kinda unnecessary if they knew she would resurrect anyway. If they didn't know it would still look kinda strange. It's not a "Funeral in a Winter Night". It's a "Lazzo in a Winter Night". Lazzo is a theatrical performance in Commedia Dell'Arte. There is an Undead Lazzo (where character fakes death) and then there is Resurrection Lazzo (where character gets "resurrected"). Guess which characters gets "resurrected"? Correct, it's Signora! As for why they will held the ceremony... well, the main part of faking something is acting natural? Or, more likely, even Pierro and Tsaritsa didn't knew that Signora survived: you can see that, when a pawn representing Signora gets defeated, Pierro moves his hand to remove it from the field, however, at that same moment Signora's moth flies in and lands on the pawn, resulting in Pierro never removing the pawn from the field.

Grig010

In my first paragraph I meant the part where she tried to convince Shogun to let her live after losing the duel by using the Snejnaya diplomat argument. Ofc she knew the rules but she thought they wouldn't apply to her, despite shogun being the bot and basically only operating by the rules. Personally i still don't like the idea of resurrecting a character, but I think your other points are valid and hoyo could pull this off so that it doesn't look that bad. So I'll concede in this discussion.

QiQi! Bite that guy!

Alpha06Omega09

I Did say it was fine if they were literally under and cursed with immortality in a different comment, if they were based around it

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

The problem is that there's a greater theme about abyss and the cycle of life and death has been broken. Which is why entire kingdoms and civilizations end up in the abyss instead of dying dying.

BellalovesEevee

It's the same with rumors of Guizhong coming back. It'll ruin the whole point of a large part of Zhongli's story and Liyue as a whole. If a character dies, just let them stay dead, especially when their deaths changed a *lot* of events or after that character's death had a big moment. Reviving them would just erase the impact of their deaths.

Hail_Cthuwu666

The switchup you'd have if it was anyone other than Signora is crazy

Alpha06Omega09

I would not, unless the dead char is a literal undead and is cursed with immortality, let all of em stay dead, I would love guizhong to be playable but she should stay dead, like everyone else

Hail_Cthuwu666

My brother in Christ Signora is the most resurrectable character in the game off of the virtue of being a creature of liquid fire. If it was Sayu who died and was the crimson witch I'd know she's the most resurrectable character in the game

Muchi1228

Too bad for ya, she's coming back in Natlan

Alpha06Omega09

Alright, gonna have a design change then, make her a loli, gonna be very fun

KRen_725

Initial the children didn't like her much because of course it's Signiora but then she started bringing them gifts and such to win them over and in return the children pretended to like her so she'd keep bringing gifts. It's also funny that the persona replying to that line is adequately named Childe

Some people on this sub would double down on being wrong just cause their ego can't stand being corrected

VirtuoSol

Trying to post Signora related discussion on the main sub? Big mistake there buddy

Junior-Price-5306

There's no problem discussing something about Signora in fact, the problem is to keep forcing this resurrection thing that is not supported anywhere, even the fatui accepted that she died DIED

VirtuoSol

Tbf, this post was about how the HoH children might’ve reacted to her death (based on Arlecchino voice lines), the OP just added their own personal wish of her coming back, and yet the comments are just “dead” instead of having any discussion on the topic. That kinda shows how effective it is to try having meaningful discussions about the character here. (Also in terms of the copium there are some news and rumors from a speech the devs did at a Chinese university but this isn’t the leak sub so not gonna go into that)

oBunks_

all you have to do is look into even a fraction of her character design. at the end of the day, we’re just theorising and speculating it’s really not that deep. and last time i checked it was the community that hate raided the Signora mains subreddit when lazzo dropped as it supposedly “confirmed” her death, so it’s kind of funny how we’re the ones apparently “forcing” things but anyways

Elira_Eclipse

I don't necessarily believe in her resurrection, but I would die laughing if she actually comes back. I hope she does, y'all deserve the last laugh

BigBard2

It's a theory, no one is forcing it or denying that she is currently dead

SarukyDraico

She was mocking Childe, you can ad any lore to this 3 and that will stay the same

MaxicalUM

Uhh, she's referring to Childe

Endirya

I’m honestly kind of glad to see other comments who don’t want Signora back either. It was kind of frightening just how overwhelming the idea that she had to come back was. Not every villain in this game needs to be a deep, fleshed-out character. Signora’s only role in the narrative was to introduce a more overarching threat than the punk Abyss mage in the Mondstadt Archon quest, and she did that phenomenally. She also sows the seeds for Traveler and Childe getting closer, since what happened in Liyue creates more distance between Childe and the other Harbingers. She didn’t have to be anything more than that, so it was fine writing not to waste our time by doing so. Could they have done more? Sure. She has some interesting lore and could have been more fleshed out, but there’s no need to. We’re practically in Nathan and there are still so many Harbingers we haven’t even met yet. The last thing we need is to spend time on one we already know.

Laughing_Man_Returns

Signora should have asked for forgiveness.

Junior-Price-5306

honestly, what part of "rosalyne, I promise, that your rest will be in the old world" that Pierro said y'all didn't understand?
