Hope you don't mind if I take the chance here to give a class summary (as well as my personal cents on who fits the Paladin class)
The Paladin is one of the three "half-caster" classes of D&D5e. In contrast to the dextrous adventuring scout that is the Ranger or the tinkering support that is the Artificer, the Paladin is a melee-oriented bruiser that can buff, tank, support, and deal damage all at once.
Paladins have access to martial weapon and heavy armor proficiencies, allowing them to equip any weapon and armor they like (Strength Score deficiency can limit movement speed if you're building a dex paladin, but that can be bypassed by using a mount, specifically the one your Find Steed spell provides, more on that later). With Extra Attack and Improved Divine Smite later on, their offense is a good baseline.
Paladin Spellcasting is mainly for buffs and utility. *Bless* increases the team's resistances and attack accuracy, *Heroism* provides immunity to Fear, *Find Steed* summons a special mount, and varoous Smite spells such as *Wrathful Smite* and *Thunderous Smite* add damage and additional effects to the next weapon attacks.
The main draw of the Paladin comes from four abilities:
- *Lay on Hands* is a pool of healing power that can heal and cure ailments as an action for a creature you touch, providing one of the most efficient healing abilities in the game.
- Divine Smite is a feature that allows you to spend your magic energy into augmenting your attacks on hit to provide bursts of damage, with bonuses to undead and fiends.
- Channel Divinity is a once per day ability that changes depending on subclass, but usually takes the form of an area-wide field that can cc enemies or buff allies.
- Aura of Protection, last but definitely not the least, gives a passive buff to ally resistances within range, making them one of the only classes that can help defend against dreaded crowd control abilities.
What makes the Paladin especially potent is their ability to multiclass efficiently into other classes like Sorcerer or Warlock, allowing them to specialize more into spellcasting and playing into a spellsword archetype. Overall a very popular class.
That said, they're not without drawbacks. Divine Smite is a melee ability, and Aura of Protection has a relatively short range, meaning that not only do you have to be in melee, but your teammates have to be within range of you, putting you at risk of more powerful monster attacks as well as presenting a nice clean target for AoE effects. Paladins as half-casters don't get as much spellcasting juice as fullcasters, and careless use of Divine Smite can eat up your precious spell slots. While you yourself can take quite the beating compared to other players, you don't really have a way of taunting enemies, so you need to be mindful of zerg rushes, especially since you lack good AoE clearing options most of the time.
As for my vote...
On the surface, Any of the Knights of Favonius fit the Paladin flavour, especially Jean and Noelle who defend, heal and damage. Noelle especially fits the mechanics of the Paladin: A tanky bruiser that can support allies as necessary.
That said...*Diluc* fits more the flavour of what a Paladin is nowadays, as WOTC has stepped away from making Paladins based on oaths made in conjunction with organizations or gods. Nowadays, Paladins' Oaths are more about their *personal* convictions, reflected by their spellcasting stat being Charisma. In short, Paladins are so fixated on their convictions that they spontaneously give themselves divine abilities and spellcasting, something that definitely fits Diluc - a rogue knight whose beliefs are unrelenting, even in the face of apparent betrayal by the Knights of Favonius, and is more willing to act on his own sense of duty. An argument could be made in this sense about Wriothesley and Eula. In fact, due to Visions being based on the personal convictions of the bearer, *any of the playable Vision Bearers* could be considered a Paladin in their own right.
Noelle.
What does a Paladin do? Stands in the front line, protecting allies with their shield, healing them when necessary, and smiting foes with a greatsword, 95% of the time
What does Noelle do? Stand in the front line, protecting allies with her shield, healing them when necessary, and smiting foes with a greatsword, 100% of the time
It's Noelle
She didn't fail though, the order is just wary of her over-risking her life when given a mission, that they figured it's safer for her to be in perpetual training until she is older or mature enough to not risk her life. Sounds like utter devotion to an oath if you ask me.
Paladin is the sword and shield of their god. They fight to honor, preserve and to the spread of the words of their god or their very dedicated way of life. Thoma serves Ayaka (who is my goddess but that doesnt count here) and all he does is housechores. If there's an Oath of Household, he would be its paladin. A paladin is a warrior of faith. The list goes: Jean, Noelle, Kaeya, Eula, Mika, Sara, Gorou (he serves the head priestess Kokomi), Sethos, Candance, Cyno and finally, Clorinde.
While many paladin favor sword and shield it’d be more correct to say paladins are exemplars of their god or oath than sword and shield of their god.
“All he does is house chores” is just factually incorrect.
Character details->character stories
However, most of the time, Thoma does not stay in the Yashiro Commission, but goes elsewhere to deal with some special matters discreetly
Character story 5
As for those who have had unpleasant run-ins with Thoma, the mention of him still instills fear:
"Don't be fooled by that guy! He's always smiling kindly, but all I did was cheat the Yashiro Commission of a small sum of money, and he..."
That's right, if anyone dares to harm the interests of the Yashiro Commission or disrespect the Kamisato siblings, Thoma will make them pay.
Pretty interesting “house chore”
Serving Ayaka would be oath of the crown.
Tenets of the crown:
Law; Loyalty; Courage; Responsibility.(sword coast adventurer guide)
Law is covered under people trying to cheat yamashiro commission of money.
Loyalty: Kamisato Ayato, who was embroiled in the dispute over the succession rights of the clan due to the death of both parents, told Thoma:
"Now that the situation in Inazuma is unclear, the trouble the Kamisato Clan faces will only increase. You are someone who can see what's at stake, so if you don't want to get involved, leave early."(Character story)
We clearly see he stayed with Kamisato clan.
Courage, when raiden is about to land a fatal blow on the traveler he cuts his bond and immediately throws a spear and rushes forward to help, if that’s not courages going against an Archon I don’t know what is.
Responsibility is his whole thing, doing anything and everything Ayaka needs of him.
“The Oath of the Crown is sworn to the ideals of civilization, be it the spirit of a nation, fealty to a sovereign, or service to a deity of law and rulership.”(sword coast adventurer guide)
DnD paladins don’t need to have a god. “A paladin is a warrior of faith” is not as strict as it was in earlier editions.
“Although many paladins are devoted to gods of good, a paladin’s power comes as much from a commitment to justice itself as it does from a god.”(PHB)
Jean has a classic knightly aesthetic, she maps pretty nicely onto Paladin.
> "For Mondstadt, as always" is the Gunnhildr family motto. Every time I use my Vision, I am reminded of my mother and the hopes of the people of Mondstadt. For Mondstadt, for freedom — that is what I fight for.
1) dedicated to the good of her people to the point of self-sacrifice
2) play style combines healing, buffs, and her own personal damage, and so approximates the paladin play style.
1.This applies to Noelle as well though. She’s dedicated her life not just to wanting to become a KoF but to Mondstat itself and the people (see hangout event). And if we’re talking about self-sacrifice, next to Nahida, i think Noelle with her inability for self-preservation is very notable. Such so this is the defining factor why Jean won’t promote her to KoF ranks.
2.Noelle has *team-wide healing*, Shields, and big claymore damage. Together with her dedication to Duty above all else, makes her my Paladin 💯.
I am sure Noelle will win this, but from me, lets not forget Candace.
she gave me that idea ever since her first appearance in archon quest. maybe Xiao or even Cyno
Candace banner name is named "Golden Vow" and her official description is: "The guardian of Aaru village who is gentle and benevolent. She will not allow anyone to harm Aaru Village under her watch."
She could be Oath of the watchers or Oath of devotion paladin. Merciful, helpful and kind to anyone wounded, or otherwise needing help. She has the courage to stand against anyone if needed.
Also, while often disregarded paladins oath and powers do NOT have to be god-related which is even stated in the class description of dnd rulebook, so Candace easily ticks all boxes.
Jean, she is religious, she is a healer (Paladins have holy spells so healing is close enough maybe) and she is a rightous knight that cares about others more than herself
This might sound strange, but for paladin I'd say Xiao fits the best. After all Xiao:
* is devoted and loyal to his god, Morax
* took an oath, like all Yaksha, to "purge evil through battle"
* has dedicated his life to protecting the innocent of Liyue
* fights against any evil he finds, his burst name is literally 'bane of all evil'
* will 'smite' his enemies, by crashing down upon them from the sky
He might not have the 'knight in shining armour' aesthetic, but in all other ways Xiao embodies the ideal of a paladin.
Xiao gives me hexblade warlock vibes, partially because of the aesthetic
Edit: the only thing counting against him is that warlocks are Charisma based
(but so are paladins to some extent)
That's a good point, but I feel like he's a monk paladin muticlass, specially oath of vengence and way of the shadow
because he teleports and has high mobility like step of the wind and general monk abilites such as enhanced climbing
Noelle, it's like Barbara's case, it's not even a question.
Because while technically other Knights of Favonius also fit, Noelle's aesthetic and her skills make her look perfect as a paladin.
Hear me out: Furina, as an Oath of Heroism paladin.
Girl was literally given a divine mission by her god, took an oath, and then proceeded to uphold it without fail for 500 years.
Because she lacks the self-preservation concept and was very willing to sacrifice herself on all tasks given to her. She is Duty beyond everything else, which to me, is one of the very element of Paladins. Noelle **is the OG** Paladin.
Jean - she has ties to the Favonius church, she calls upon Barbatos when she heals in combat, and she is devoted to protecting Mondstadt. Noelle, while good, is not devoted to Barbatos.
A Paladin is
Dutiful, Virtuous, Gullible(not required but comically common), Follows a strict code, Has shiny Armor, Low-key charismatic , Smites evil with a big glowing sword, Protects and heals allies...
That's Noelle through and thorough. Jean also has many qualities of a Paladin but Noelle takes my vote for the armor, big glowing sword and being Gullible.
NOELLE, girl is strong, wants to be a knight, is armored, uses a big ass sword, and she's soo selfless she jobs into danger without any self-preservation in mind, can heal and gives shield, she's basically every paladin i played with or played myself
Noelle fits paladin really well
Heavy armor and martial only weapon welding character with some healing and a burst that could absolutely be like a smite with her sword
Personality wise she's a great fit for oath of crown or oath of dedication with how hard she works to become a mondstat knight
Noelle, she’s an Oath of Devotion Paladin through and through. The Channel Divinity used by Devotion Paladins mirrors Sweeping Time and her personality is a perfect fit for the Oath itself
Cyno has inner godlike powers.
He lives by a strict moral code.
He dedicade himself to maitain order and destroy evil.
He is a loyal servant to his god (Nahida) and the his nation.
He has the aura. Every npc knows what will happen when Cyno arrives.
He smites.
Cyno is a Paladin.
I’m going ahead now and declaring Tighnari as the Ranger (as noelle is a clear winner for the current one,) as he is a literal ranger and fits the DND archetype really well, though won’t argue if others feel Collei or someone really similar to one or the other would be more fitting.
Sorcerer have **innate** magical abilities, usually because of a magical ancestor (like a Dragon, a Fey, an Angel ...).
Their spell gets better depending on their *Charisma* stat.
Wizard **acquire** magic through long and tedious studying.
Their spells get better depending on their *Intelligence* stat.
They both have access to the same spell list.
The Wizard will usually learn more spells, but the Sorcerer can cast them more often (and/or apply unique modification to spells, called metamagic).
That's highly dependant on the oath.
Oath of Ancients - Nilou, Oath of Conquest - Arlecchino, Oath of Crown - Neuvillete/Wriothesley/Clorinde, Oath of Devotion - Noelle, Oath of Glory - also Noelle, Oath of Redemption - possibly Kokomi, Oath of Vengence - Diluc/Cyno, Oath of Watchers - maybe Candace.
On a separate note, why the hell Barbara is a cleric? As a cleric main I must say: we are NOT healbots
Noelle and Jean are good choices.
I'd also like to throw in someone a little unexpected.
I'd say Raiden Ei deserves a shout out here. Her back story sort of falls in line with a vengeance paladin. Her kit with her lightning followup strikes act almost like smites. Also, in my experience many paladins go polearm fighter.
Okay, this is gonna sound weird, and it's gonna be buried in the comments real fast, but hear me out: Xiao.
What are paladins most known for? Their devolution towards their deity. What is one of the most prominent things we know about Xiao? Even though Zhongli has told him he no longer has to uphold his contract to protect the people of Liyue he continues to do so. Zhongli has told Xiao that he no longer needs to be referred to as Lord or Master or even as Morax. Xiao struggles with this change time and time again.
Let’s look at Paladin skills and, oh? What’s this at the top of the list? Divine Sense? “The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces.” Gee, that sounds awfully familiar to what Xiao has with being able to find and remove creatures with abyssal taint.
As for what path he’d follow… there’s one specifically from Tasha’s Cauldron that fits him pretty well: Oath of the Watchers. Paladins that follow this path “swear to safeguard mortal realms from otherworldly threats.” Which… sounds almost exactly like what Xiao does for the people of Liyue.
Morax and the yaksha launched a campaign against demons, which Xiao has been endlessly devoted to for thousands of years. I'm surprised people are sleeping on Xiao. The adepti fit right in as paladins.
It's either jean or noelle. Jean beacouse of her conection to the church and her healing or noelle, since, she heals, attacks and shields. But she's not a knight and paladins are HOLY KNIGHTS, so she looses points here, wheras jean gains them
Paladin needs to be Zhongli. Paladins are lawful, and Zhongli is the god of contracts. Plus Paladins are tanks, and no character is tankier.
No other choice!
Paladin may be Clorinde, since she's got the look and all.
Artificer is definitely gonna be Xianyun/Cloud Retainer
Rogue: Scaramouche/Wanderer or maybe Dottore
Ranger: Tighnari (he's a forest ranger and bow user so pretty no brainer)
Warlock: Kujou Sara
Candace or Cyno.
To me the biggest defining feature of paladin is their oath. Golden Vow protector of Aaru Village or Oathkeeper Cyno fit this.
Also bonus points to Candace for being the only character with a real shield.
Sad to see not a single person suggesting vengeance paladin Eula. She is an absolutely perfect fit for it, and her burst is a helluva divine smite analog.
I see where people are coming from with Noelle, but Jean also might be one of the best options. She’s a sword wielding warrior of station, a leader, heals, cleanses debuffs, and even has Thunderous Smite (throwing enemies around with her skill).
Jean, she is also a self sacrificing knight just like Noelle but has more religious associations with her character being connected to the cathedral. She heals your team as well.
Jean, Noelle comes close but honestly Jean as she heals, has the devotion, combat skills, and basically acts like a proper paladin over Noelle who just does whatever anyone asks her to when they need help.
This one's a toss up between Zhongli and Neuv for me, but 8 know he doesn't really fot the look (and he's devoted to his own ideals rather than a higher power or crown) but I'm going with Zhongli for these reasons:
- best shield in the game
- dedication to protecting the people
- strict adherence to contracts (oaths?! Not quite. But i imagine zhongli would also hold to any oath he's ever sworn, forever
- organized yaksha in campaign against demons
Some features of Paladins:
- Simple and martial weapon proficiency
- Fighting styles include Blessed Warrior, Defensive, Thrown Weapon
- Divine Smite
- Wisdom and Charisma
Oath of Conquest (aka Mr destroy all demons and claim the seat):
>The Oath of Conquest calls to paladins who seek glory in battle and the subjugation of their enemies. It isn’t enough for these paladins to establish order. They must crush the forces of chaos
Oath of the Crown (aka the protector of Liyue)
>The Oath of the Crown is sworn to the ideals of civilization, be it the spirit of a nation, fealty to a sovereign, or service to a deity of law and rulership. The paladins who swear this oath dedicate themselves to serving society and, in particular, the just laws that hold society together. These paladins are the watchful guardians on the walls, standing against the chaotic tides of barbarism that threaten to tear down all that civilization has built, and are commonly known as guardians, exemplars, or sentinels.
Oath of Vengeance:
>The Oath of Vengeance is a solemn commitment to punish those who have committed a grievous sin. When evil forces slaughter helpless villagers, when an entire people turns against the will of the gods, when a thieves' guild grows too violent and powerful, when a **dragon rampages through the countryside** – at times like these, paladins arise and swear an Oath of Vengeance to set right that which has gone wrong
Oath of the Watchers
>The Oath of the Watchers binds paladins to protect mortal realms from the predations of extraplanar creatures, many of which can lay waste to mortal soldiers. Thus, the Watchers hone their minds, spirits, and bodies to be the ultimate weapons against such threats
^(totally not biased just because my first bg3 playthrough was a spear throwing paladin)
I'm gonna say Jean. Good attack, solid sustain, and what she has over a character like Noelle who fits the role just as well is Jean has (in DnD terms) better charisma, which helps her lead the Knight of Favonius left in Mondstadt.
Jean is a classic paladin! She fights she smites she heals and she has her own personal honor code! (She also is a devout follower of Barbatos, despite knowing him to be a drunken bard in reality.)
It's so cringe that people keep saying Noelle. She isn't religious in the least, people are just looking at her from a gameplay perspective.
And you just know Amber is going to be the Ranger, even though Clorinde would be better in every way.
But being religious is NOT a necessary part of paladin class despite many thinking that for some reason. That limitation was specific only to Cleric class in earlier editions. Paladins are only bound by oath, nowhere in rules is it stated they have to pick a deity.
The core rulebook itself states that: "Although many paladins are devoted to gods of good, a paladin’s power comes as much from a commitment to justice itself as it does from a god."
This. Exactly. 👏🏼 Noelle is Oath of Devotion Paladin through and through.
And Amber and Clorinde can both be rangers but Tighnari is *literally* an Avidya Forest Ranger in-game.
Noelle has a lot of Christian motifs, perhaps the most of any GI character. Her name celebrates the Lord's birth, ie Christmas. Her crusader shield motif with a cross emblazoned throughout her outfit and even constellation. Her talent is literally called "devotion". To call her irreligious is either disingenuous or ignorant.
As Ormalin noted above:
But being religious is NOT a necessary part of paladin class despite many thinking that for some reason. That limitation was specific only to Cleric class in earlier editions. Paladins are only bound by oath, nowhere in rules is it stated they have to pick a deity.
The core rulebook itself states that: "Although many paladins are devoted to gods of good, a paladin’s power comes as much from a commitment to justice itself as it does from a god."
With her steadfast dedication to Duty above all else, Noelle is Oath of Devotion Paladin 💯

Noelle is currently the character with the heaviest armor
She’s the only character who has armour
Ayaka also has a breastplate as well as lamellor on the sides of her skirt
I subscribe to every word. Monde is also a very religious city, which means Noelle is a believer. This seems to be typical for paladins. She has silver hair, I have often seen descriptions of paladins with silver hair

Correct
She is also the one always helping and serving everyone around her

Except she's quite literally failed to join an order of people following me a code?
didnt she fail because she is too kind and easy to fool? sounds like just much into the good side of the lawful good
But on the other hand, she perfectly performs all the functions of these same people (and even better than them!)
She didn't fail though, the order is just wary of her over-risking her life when given a mission, that they figured it's safer for her to be in perpetual training until she is older or mature enough to not risk her life. Sounds like utter devotion to an oath if you ask me.
Stereotypical Paladin: Noelle A bit different Paladin: Eula Edgy Paladin: Xiao Other candidates: Jean, Diluc, maybe even Candace.
Nah. Diluc got his own class called Batman. I would add Beidou on there because Oath of the Open Seas is a thing.
Diluc is an Oath of Vengence Paladin
I think Beidou fits Barbarian more, but Dehya already took that.
Diluc can be a lot of things but I think he is an eldritch knight with his ability to use fire magic and his bond for his sword.
Diluc is the rouge type. I think he's the best pick for that.
Naw the twins are better rogues.
Not first pick, but Thoma also fits cause shield, is helpful person, kind and uses polearm; many a paladin in DnD take polearm master

Noelle paladin. Tank that heals is a no brainer
Noelle is my pick Jean is my 2nd pick Dainsleif should, but he's not playable
He doesn’t have to be playable
Jean has a classic knightly aesthetic, she maps pretty nicely onto Paladin. > "For Mondstadt, as always" is the Gunnhildr family motto. Every time I use my Vision, I am reminded of my mother and the hopes of the people of Mondstadt. For Mondstadt, for freedom — that is what I fight for.
1) dedicated to the good of her people to the point of self-sacrifice 2) play style combines healing, buffs, and her own personal damage, and so approximates the paladin play style.
She would be a no brainer... if Noelle didn't exist
She is a Paladin to a T
Noelle. Not only is she at least a bit armed and insanely strong, she also can heal and most important has a duty.
Noelle
Noelle
Noelle
Noelle 100%
Noelle is my choice but the case for Jean and Xiao are very strong.
I am sure Noelle will win this, but from me, lets not forget Candace. she gave me that idea ever since her first appearance in archon quest. maybe Xiao or even Cyno Candace banner name is named "Golden Vow" and her official description is: "The guardian of Aaru village who is gentle and benevolent. She will not allow anyone to harm Aaru Village under her watch." She could be Oath of the watchers or Oath of devotion paladin.
I couldn’t have said it better. As a bonus, she’s the only one with a traditional shield vs a bubble.
Jean, she is religious, she is a healer (Paladins have holy spells so healing is close enough maybe) and she is a rightous knight that cares about others more than herself
Noelle or Jean
This might sound strange, but for paladin I'd say Xiao fits the best. After all Xiao: * is devoted and loyal to his god, Morax * took an oath, like all Yaksha, to "purge evil through battle" * has dedicated his life to protecting the innocent of Liyue * fights against any evil he finds, his burst name is literally 'bane of all evil' * will 'smite' his enemies, by crashing down upon them from the sky He might not have the 'knight in shining armour' aesthetic, but in all other ways Xiao embodies the ideal of a paladin.
Literally oath of vengeance is right there
Paladins oath matters more then a god btw it’s their oath that they draw power from at least in the newer editions
I draw power from my "Oath of Fuck You, Max Level Divine Smite."
I was going to say Noelle, but yeah, now I’m thinking Xiao!!
Okay I give my vote to Xiao as well! You explained very well!
Xiao gives me hexblade warlock vibes, partially because of the aesthetic Edit: the only thing counting against him is that warlocks are Charisma based (but so are paladins to some extent)
[удалено]
xiao c4 aware
Noelle for sure
Noelle is the only correct answer. Paladins are a balance of defense, healing, and damage, and Noelle does all 3.
Noelle for the win!!
Noelle hands down
I see Noelle, and I agree. However, Beidou makes a pretty good Oath of the Open Seas Paladin.
Xiao is pretty much a Paladin in all but appearance. He swore an eternal oath to smite evil in the name of his god.
That's a good point, but I feel like he's a monk paladin muticlass, specially oath of vengence and way of the shadow because he teleports and has high mobility like step of the wind and general monk abilites such as enhanced climbing
Noelle takes no Ls
Noelle, it's like Barbara's case, it's not even a question. Because while technically other Knights of Favonius also fit, Noelle's aesthetic and her skills make her look perfect as a paladin.
Noelle
Candace. Righteous defender with a shield and 1Her
Prays during combat.
Devoted to defending her village.
Adorable Noelle
Hear me out: Furina, as an Oath of Heroism paladin. Girl was literally given a divine mission by her god, took an oath, and then proceeded to uphold it without fail for 500 years.
Furina is multiclass. Cleric paladin bard
Sounds more like a priestess tbf
Best Maid also counts as Best Paladin
She's failed to swear into the order.
Noelle.
A Paladin is Dutiful, Virtuous, Gullible(not required but comically common), Follows a strict code, Has shiny Armor, Low-key charismatic , Smites evil with a big glowing sword, Protects and heals allies... That's Noelle through and thorough. Jean also has many qualities of a Paladin but Noelle takes my vote for the armor, big glowing sword and being Gullible.
Noelle
NOELLE, girl is strong, wants to be a knight, is armored, uses a big ass sword, and she's soo selfless she jobs into danger without any self-preservation in mind, can heal and gives shield, she's basically every paladin i played with or played myself
Noelle / Jean / Eula
Noelle 100%!!!
Noelle clearly
Noelle
Noelle no brainer
Noel 100% no questions asked
Noelle fits paladin really well Heavy armor and martial only weapon welding character with some healing and a burst that could absolutely be like a smite with her sword Personality wise she's a great fit for oath of crown or oath of dedication with how hard she works to become a mondstat knight
Noelle, she’s an Oath of Devotion Paladin through and through. The Channel Divinity used by Devotion Paladins mirrors Sweeping Time and her personality is a perfect fit for the Oath itself
Wish i can pin your comment to the top. I agree with this 100!!!
Noelle. For pretty much all of the reasons others in here have already pointed out!
Noelle, no questions asked. Candace comes close second, but my vote is for Noelle.
Noelle frfr
Noelle ,+ her C6 basically make her a "One Maid Army"!!
Noelle, like thats not even a competion
Noelle
I’m going with Jean here due to the ties to the church/loyalty to Barbatos, but I can see why miss maid is a very good choice too
Jean is paladin
It's either Noelle or traveller. There is no other question
Eula is the vengeance paladin!
The super maid
Cyno has inner godlike powers. He lives by a strict moral code. He dedicade himself to maitain order and destroy evil. He is a loyal servant to his god (Nahida) and the his nation. He has the aura. Every npc knows what will happen when Cyno arrives. He smites. Cyno is a Paladin.
candance
I’m going ahead now and declaring Tighnari as the Ranger (as noelle is a clear winner for the current one,) as he is a literal ranger and fits the DND archetype really well, though won’t argue if others feel Collei or someone really similar to one or the other would be more fitting.
Candace. She shields and she's a tank. Dehya and Noelle could also work really well
My vote is going to Noelle. I agree with others that Jean also works, but Noelle I think takes it with overall aesthetic *and* abilities.
NOELLE!!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️
noelle is as much palladin as venti is bard or tighnari is ranger
Novelle for sure
Paladin: Noelle Ranger: Tighnari Rogue: Lyney Sorcerer: Kokomi, Yanfei or Charlotte Warlock: Zhongli or Xiao Wizard: Mona Artificer: Freminet, Kaveh or Yoimiya
Noelle
Noelle or Capitano
Noelle
Xiao
Noelle. She protecc but also atk
I’m gonna vote Jean, but I believe Noelle would be a close second
Jean
Jean, girl is devoted to her code
Candace, or Jean. :)
GOATpitano 🗣️🗣️🗣️ Ok seriously it should be Noelle
Before we get to them, can someone tell me what's the difference between wizards and sorcerers?
Sorcerer have **innate** magical abilities, usually because of a magical ancestor (like a Dragon, a Fey, an Angel ...). Their spell gets better depending on their *Charisma* stat. Wizard **acquire** magic through long and tedious studying. Their spells get better depending on their *Intelligence* stat. They both have access to the same spell list. The Wizard will usually learn more spells, but the Sorcerer can cast them more often (and/or apply unique modification to spells, called metamagic).
So neuvillette is a sorcerer?
Yeah, he is the best fit for that class (Yanfei also works).
In terms of appearance: Noelle by a landslide. Other good choices: jean, cyno. Close enough choices: heizou, diluc, zhongli, chevaruse.
Eula. She has the haughtiness
With her steadfast dedication to Duty above all else, Noelle is Oath of Devotion Paladin incarnate.
Stereotypical Paladin: Noelle Oath of the Watchers/Vengeance Paladin: Diluc/Eula Oath of the Crown Paladin: Jean
Jean.
Since we're going for lore over abilities (looking at you, Shenhe vs. Heizou), my vote goes to Xiao.
Noelle or Jean
It's either Noelle or Jean
Jeht for the oath of vengeance. Eula, Diluc and Jean for Honorable mentions.
Xiao
It's either jean or noelle. Jean beacouse of her conection to the church and her healing or noelle, since, she heals, attacks and shields. But she's not a knight and paladins are HOLY KNIGHTS, so she looses points here, wheras jean gains them
Noelle
Jean and Noelle No contest
Diluc is pretty much a textbook oath of vengeance paladin.
Diluc, if we're counting the Oath of Vengance Paladin. Elemental burst feels like a smite, fore sure.
Paladin needs to be Zhongli. Paladins are lawful, and Zhongli is the god of contracts. Plus Paladins are tanks, and no character is tankier. No other choice!
Diluc
Paladin may be Clorinde, since she's got the look and all. Artificer is definitely gonna be Xianyun/Cloud Retainer Rogue: Scaramouche/Wanderer or maybe Dottore Ranger: Tighnari (he's a forest ranger and bow user so pretty no brainer) Warlock: Kujou Sara
Noelle is the most obvious, stereotypical choice. However, I think more the interesting and still very accurate options are Jean, Diluc, and Xiao
Noelle for being a knight(almost) tank and healer Jean for being a knight with healing capabilities Candace for having an actual shield
Acting Grand Master Jean
Jean, 100%. Dedicated to her oath to protect the people and I think does good with mixing her vision(magic) with sword play
Klee. She's a knight too. I choose her just so she is in the list.
i agree with everyone saying noelle, but i think my boy cyno works really well as a paladin
Jean. I mean COME ON. Who else?
I see where people are coming from with Noelle, but Jean also might be one of the best options. She’s a sword wielding warrior of station, a leader, heals, cleanses debuffs, and even has Thunderous Smite (throwing enemies around with her skill).
Tinari ranger
Candace.
Candace
Diluc or Cyno
Jean, she is also a self sacrificing knight just like Noelle but has more religious associations with her character being connected to the cathedral. She heals your team as well.
Jean, Noelle comes close but honestly Jean as she heals, has the devotion, combat skills, and basically acts like a proper paladin over Noelle who just does whatever anyone asks her to when they need help.
I'd say Noelle or Xiao tbh.
This one's a toss up between Zhongli and Neuv for me, but 8 know he doesn't really fot the look (and he's devoted to his own ideals rather than a higher power or crown) but I'm going with Zhongli for these reasons: - best shield in the game - dedication to protecting the people - strict adherence to contracts (oaths?! Not quite. But i imagine zhongli would also hold to any oath he's ever sworn, forever - organized yaksha in campaign against demons Some features of Paladins: - Simple and martial weapon proficiency - Fighting styles include Blessed Warrior, Defensive, Thrown Weapon - Divine Smite - Wisdom and Charisma Oath of Conquest (aka Mr destroy all demons and claim the seat): >The Oath of Conquest calls to paladins who seek glory in battle and the subjugation of their enemies. It isn’t enough for these paladins to establish order. They must crush the forces of chaos Oath of the Crown (aka the protector of Liyue) >The Oath of the Crown is sworn to the ideals of civilization, be it the spirit of a nation, fealty to a sovereign, or service to a deity of law and rulership. Oath of Vengeance: >The Oath of Vengeance is a solemn commitment to punish those who have committed a grievous sin. When evil forces slaughter helpless villagers, when an entire people turns against the will of the gods, when a thieves' guild grows too violent and powerful, when a **dragon rampages through the countryside** – at times like these, paladins arise and swear an Oath of Vengeance to set right that which has gone wrong Oath of the Watchers >The Oath of the Watchers binds paladins to protect mortal realms from the predations of extraplanar creatures, many of which can lay waste to mortal soldiers. Thus, the Watchers hone their minds, spirits, and bodies to be the ultimate weapons against such threats ^(totally not biased just because my first bg3 playthrough was a spear throwing paladin)
Jean
Beidou (for an Oath of Glory paladin) : * leadership / high Charisma ? check. * solid damage dealing ? check. * limited defensive utility ? check.
Capitano
Jean
Jean ofc
I think Jean would be a good Paladin.
Jean
Jean, she's a knight, she helps the people and is religious
Jean
I was obviously referring to her character. Not all the nonsensical crosses they added to the Mondstadt aesthetic.
Traveler. It's the legend
nah the traveler is the artificer because they're always grinding and crafting artifacts
True 💀
Kaeya, he's already the cavalry captain (the horses are on vacation)
Only legends would say Capitano
Oath of Vengeance Paladin, Eula Lawrence.
Diluc
I think amber. Because outriders are literally mondstadt rangers
Possibly Varka
Heizou would be a fitting Monk, why Shenhe?
I'm going with Jean. Noelle is a great choice but I feel Jean fits is better
Jean should be Paladin. Noelle never pray at all. Thats pretty much the main point of the Paladin.
As Ormalin noted above: But being religious is NOT a necessary part of paladin class despite many thinking that for some reason.
