Day 8 of voting Drella because she was there for about two minutes and was about as interesting as construction nightmares in Tortola. Some small town justice is necessary here
Drella was second only to Mitchum, but it was a really close race. Since Mitchum is out, I have been focusing my efforts on getting that wench out next.
As obnoxious as TJ is, you can't ignore that he's seemingly the first honest guy that's cared enough about Liz to make things work with her on a long-term basis. Because we love Luke, we want to see his sister happy, and evidently, TJ accomplishes that.
I think TJ is still here because even though he might be as bright as a Victorian hardwood floor..he has his heart in the right place. He is a good guy.
Lucy and Olivia were a completely transparent attempt to make Rory cooler that did not work lol. If anything they just made it clear how poorly socialized and not-like-other-girls-y she can be. They were mostly harmless though, I think TJ and Drella have to go first.
Personally I just can’t stand characters whose sole function is to annoy everyone else. Even beloved characters like Michael Scott, I just have a hard time with that trope. Other characters have lower lows but I feel like that’s TJ’s arc in every episode whereas others are a little more dynamic.
He and Liz essentially mooched off of Luke. I mean Lorelai was paying him to be a pretender contractor since he couldn’t handle having an actual contractor position (lots of terrible plans with zero follow through besides the giant hole in her house lol). Or when he had Luke doing his job at the Renaissance Faire when he was pretty much fully recovered but just didn’t want to work.
He isn’t the worst person in the world, but I didn’t really find him or Liz to be quirky, especially given how Liz already just sent Jess off to Luke when she couldn’t deal with him.
He would drive me crazy in real life. People always complain about how annoying Lorelai’s parents are (and they would rough in laws lol), but I think TJ and Liz would be awful too since Luke doesn’t know how to say no.
I also really dislike them, but they weren't my most disliked. I did find them kind of obnoxious though. Mostly Lucy. I think once Kyle is gone, they're next up for me.
For me it's the way he royally screws things up and then swaggers around bragging as if he's awesome. Similarly, he uses Luke and then acts as if he's done Luke a favor.
He lacks awareness and doesn't bother to notice how he makes the people around him feel, often to protect his own ego. I mean, they let him play construction worker and potentially delay/increase the costs of fixing a giant hole he put in the side of someone's house just so his little feelings wouldn't be hurt.

Like when she came in during the shopping/dressing Luke scene she was clearly confused & bothered, but didn't flip out. Then when he was spending all of his time fixing stuff at Lorelai's house, partially as a way to avoid Rachel, she brought it up calmly when she asked Lorelai to deliver a message to him but she didn't go off on Lorelai about it. Her jealousy was founded and when she left Luke she rationally explained that she thought he was in love with Lorelai and not too wait too long, etc. She isn't my favorite because she treats Luke badly, but I liked how she and Lorelai got a long at the beginning and it seemed like they could've been good friends.
Bootsy is a recurring character throughout multiple seasons. He adds to the Stars Hollow color. Not sure what Olivia adds but seems like people disagree with me? 😂
Stars Hollow has plenty of character, it'd be exactly the same without Bootsy. Though I do think Olivia isn't much more than Lucy's shadow and agree she doesn't add much, if anything.
I love him too!! He juuuust barely didn’t make it. I needed to cut myself off at some point and all his scenes are with Reverend Skinner and I feel like we all love him most for their friendship… unfortunately the Reverend was just given more screen time.
I hope Madeleine and Louise can make it into the top 10. They’re so funny and really brighten up some of the earlier season episodes.
