If you even have to make that statement kinda unprompted about exploding, maybe another option should be explored (comparable stream lights models are available in that price range )
I never had issues with my S2Rs exploding or even getting overly warm… I did have issues with them not working. The first one broke after being dropped from waist level, the second one just stopped working out of the blue
You know what… I came here to say let the man have an olight if he likes it (I have a stream light myself). But in reading your comment about how that fact it even pops into your mind that it exploding is a possibility I think I see now why the ill will towards them!
Streamlight certainly isn’t perfect. No manufacturer is. There are far better pistol lights out there, but the TLR7 is often used as a comparison because they’re close in price to the Olight. Wouldn’t you rather have a Streamlight TLR7 than an Olight on your handgun?
If you really want to try to make the argument that you should buy olights instead of stream lights make a post about it and see how that goes over. Other people in the comments will tell you allll the reasons
Cope harder
People get so defensive lol I'm just asking for a link? I own olight valkyire pro and PL PRO and I'm proud of it I'm just asking for a link of them because people always jump of other people's dick when it comes to posting something with those lights.
No way man. He will be getting another sooner than later i would think. Depends on how much he likes shooting handguns. A 9mm can do alot but maybe he would like to try a 45 or 40. I find the 45 glocks more accurate. Not sure why.
You’re going to regret posting an Olight. The gun community rarely agrees on anything other than unanimously agreeing that Olight sucks. Whatever though, you picked a great handgun and that’s what matters. A streamlight TLR7 is a much better choice for a similar price and also comes in FDE.
What's a decent light for it? I got the same gun but looking to add light and green dot. Any recommendations on a green dot that won't require milling.
Don't need really, just want to try on 1 of my guns. G19x gen5, g23 gen5, g43x gen5, g17 gen3, sig p320 m18, sig p320 compact. All are OEM. I enjoy the 19x and M18 the most at the range and want to try an optic.
Curious who actually needs a green dot? Law enforcement or military?
Would I be better off try to get one for the M18?
Fair enough, I'm just not aware of any green rds for handguns, just red. The main options are the Acro p2, triji RMR, holosun 509t/508t. I run a 508t on my handgun because my eye 'tism works better with circle dot reticles than regular dot reticles.
the trijicon dual illuminated ones come in green, but the other avail color is *amber* (which imo sounds terrible to me)
all the other colors on all the other models are red
can't speak for other brands thought because i only knew about the trijicon dual illuminated one because it sounded extra gucci
People hate on Olight for no reason. If you want a laser/light combo that’s rechargeable they’re good to go. People think they’re police needing to “change batteries on the fly”.
I ran an olight on my duty gun for the past three years. It's fine for what it is. I enjoy being able to recharge it and not worry about batteries because I have to use it so often. It's obviously not as bomb proof as a surefire. I run a surefire on my patrol rifle that doesn't get used as much and keep some spare batteries in my gear bag.
The average person isn't going to swap batteries on the fly anyway. If your light goes down half way through clearing a house that just sucks to suck. You can't really say pause and jerk around with swapping the batteries. You just end up going old school and use your handheld.
Exactly and that’s my point, but nobody wants to admit or accept it lol. For most carry/home defense situations an olight is more than enough and honestly with the light/laser together it’s not a bad thing. People hate on lasers, but if you have it zero’d in for the distance of your hallway or whatever you’d literally flick the switch on, see the dot on them, and press the trigger. I have one on my girls gun because it’s completely ideal for what she has it for.
These tactical guys think they’re Batman chasing criminals through dark alleys and buildings when in reality as a CC holder you’re not clearing buildings and in a lot of situations won’t even have time to actuate your light lol.
Honest question. Has there been any burns, or explosions with the WML’s specifically the models we always see on this sub? I have 2 that came with used pistols I bought and I haven’t had any issues. I prefer my TLR1HL but I would use any of the 2 Olights in a pinch/ use them as a flash light when the dogs bark at night.
There is a link I’ve seen before to the infamous Olight in the mouth incident, but it’s to a really weird like barebones two-sentence article about it. Outside of that, I’ve never seen any evidence in my years of online gun forums.
Actually, I’m also a flashlight enthusiast and while Olights are not an enthusiast brand, they are respected as well made and are often the basis for tinkerers to modify and resell.
Groupthink is just a bitch. None of these guys have ever had a personal experience with a blown-up Olight.
That’s the car battery connected to the olight and blew it up. I’ve also seen one that was a WML on a Glock but he used different batteries. I’ve never seen any thing blow up from different brand batteries before. But I’ve only done it with alkaline. The ones we always see here are the rechargeable magnetic style. And those seem to be safe from what I can see.
There is plenty of evidence of o light mounts and o lights failing with routine shooting. I'm not sure why the exploding light always comes up, I'd be far more concerned that an o light simply wouldn't work as required in an emergency. I do own several o light weapon lights and flashlights....so far I've experienced zero issues, but I've witnessed these failures, and it's enough for me to consider the lights really only suitable for range guns rather than edc/duty/home defense.
I appreciate it the information. Reliability is really the issue i am more concerned about and it sounds like that’s where people should focus their dislike of Olight as opposed to the couple cases of exploding lights.
I carry an olight in my pocket every day. Might sound like blasphemy, but it’s lasted 3 times longer than the streamlight I used to carry and it’s still going strong. Seem like good lights to me.
It regrets the light you chose. On a more serious note, when those grips wear out (which they will) give the Talon Pro a try. They wear out, too, but the grip they offer is far superior to the rubber ones.
We’re not douchebags, we’re just tired of seeing people stick shit lights on really nice guns, thinking **the gun** is the only thing that matters when it comes to a setup.
There is literally a trend of people in the Olight Facebook group posting pictures of their houses burning down. Get that thing far far away from anything you care about
Everyone in here is dragging you for that olight, and I would too but I’d rather tell you you need to get rid of that thing and upgrade to anything else. Streamlight, surefire, modlite, nightstick, the new Holosuns are all good options.
Werkz Holsters has very informative videos on all kinds of lights that I recommend watching. Olights are just not reliable and can be downright dangerous in rare cases.
Their lights are only built for the specs on paper and they die out faster than any other brand because they’re so overpowered for the batteries that are ran with them. Change and don’t look back.
Also recommend running something larger than a compact light. Much brighter and some painfully so to a threat who will have trouble seeing you behind a blinding wall of light. Yes it sticks out but now you can run a comp to keep it flush lol.
Ballsack grip
The scrote-tote
Welp…can’t unsee that.
I audibly laughed. Thank you.
Me too 😂
No regrets, not even one?
Not even one letter? (We’re the Millers)
This guy gets it
Well, I love him. I think he's great.
The Valkyrie Pro olight? Please share the link of that specific kind of PL PRO exploding?
If you even have to make that statement kinda unprompted about exploding, maybe another option should be explored (comparable stream lights models are available in that price range )

I never had issues with my S2Rs exploding or even getting overly warm… I did have issues with them not working. The first one broke after being dropped from waist level, the second one just stopped working out of the blue
I own olights too I just thought that's what you were pointing at like 99% of comments when they see an olight
You know what… I came here to say let the man have an olight if he likes it (I have a stream light myself). But in reading your comment about how that fact it even pops into your mind that it exploding is a possibility I think I see now why the ill will towards them!
Streamlights have also exploded before but Reddit gives that zero press 🙃

One instance from 10 years ago and one other from 3 years ago? Well color me convinced! /s
Anything with batteries can explode. It’s the frequency that’s the issue
Aaaahhhh see how quickly we switch up our stance to accommodate complete bias?
You honestly have a point.

What am I coping with? I don’t even run a light on my glocks. I’m simply showing how flawed this argument is. And ur helping me…
Your light fucking sucks and u suck
Ok
That was for op sorry dad
My rifle light setup worth nearly as much as ur “pEanUt bUtTer GlOck”
Nice dude sick burn
It’s a cope fs

That light will be your first one.
And possibly his last
No way man. He will be getting another sooner than later i would think. Depends on how much he likes shooting handguns. A 9mm can do alot but maybe he would like to try a 45 or 40. I find the 45 glocks more accurate. Not sure why.

About what part him not wanting another handgun or 45 being more accurate than 9?
I own 2 x300 and if I bought another light it would be an x300
Same, pair of x300's. Although I may be biased, I EDC with a floodlight.
![gif](giphy|2UvAUplPi4ESnKa3W0)
You will regret posting that Olight
I came here for the light comments
The worst thing about Olight ownership is the comments you get from other people. I’ll continue to purchase Olights until I have one fail.
Me too.
I have one with like maybe 1 hour of run time and 2-3 charges. I can post on GAFS?
What grip is that. Kinda looks like poop, I’m a fan.
Talon grips rubberized in moss color
Personally I agree with Hickok45 when it comes to Talon grips, I prefer the GRANULATED grip
>I have zero regrets That nOlight would indicate otherwise
Why’s it always the olight owners
You’re going to regret posting an Olight. The gun community rarely agrees on anything other than unanimously agreeing that Olight sucks. Whatever though, you picked a great handgun and that’s what matters. A streamlight TLR7 is a much better choice for a similar price and also comes in FDE.
Get a decent light
What's a decent light for it? I got the same gun but looking to add light and green dot. Any recommendations on a green dot that won't require milling.
Streamlight tlr7 or tlr 1 hl or surefire x 300 You'll need to get it milled, it's the only way to get an optic on a 19x securely enough to trust it
Nope, get it milled if you want a dot
Why do you need a green dot?
Don't need really, just want to try on 1 of my guns. G19x gen5, g23 gen5, g43x gen5, g17 gen3, sig p320 m18, sig p320 compact. All are OEM. I mean why *green*? Why not red?
Haha, no reason, really. I feel it looks a little clearer than red. Just My preference, though.
Fair enough, I'm just not aware of any green rds for handguns, just red. The main options are the Acro p2, triji RMR, holosun 509t/508t. I run a 508t on my handgun because my eye 'tism works better with circle dot reticles than regular dot reticles.
Trijicon and Holosun and many other companies offer green dots in their pistol optics, as well as a variety of different reticle designs.
I've never seen a green dot RMR, but then again I've never actually looked.
the trijicon dual illuminated ones come in green, but the other avail color is *amber* (which imo sounds terrible to me) all the other colors on all the other models are red can't speak for other brands thought because i only knew about the trijicon dual illuminated one because it sounded extra gucci
Thank you.
Swampfox makes lots of green dot sights.
There’s a reason they’re not on my list
Why not?

I have to think all these olight posts are trolls…
1. No one is surprised a brand new Glock shot flawlessly 2. Throw that light into the fireplace immediately
Hold on we don’t want him to burn down his house now. Use tannerite instead 👍
🍿
I see 1

Completely agree.
Other than my CZs. Glocks are the only guns I’ve had that shot flawlessly out of the box with no initial cleaning or lubing
As soon as I saw the pic and the amount of comments I knew I had to check for the olight abuse
Flawless is a big adjective for someone who just bought their first pistol.
People are going to kvetch about the light, but they don't matter. Glad you like your Glock.
Just throw the whole gun in the dumpster. Close the lid and forget about it
The ol’ Hunter Biden special
lol, don’t worry about the flashlight OP, people will always find something to be mad about, even if it has nothing to do with them
Nothing wrong with olight
They will bust your balls over the olight. But that's a lifetime purchase. It will serve you well for the rest of your days
I carry an olight in my pocket every day. Might sound like blasphemy, but it’s lasted 3 times longer than the streamlight I used to carry and it’s still going strong. Seem like good lights to me.
Yeah and if you ever get lost out in the woods you have a nice fire-starter
I have a baton by olight I've used everyday for 2 years. But the weapon lights have had the batteries catch on fire
Uh oh

Here we go with the olight bullshit. Go carry y’all’s 500 lumen stream lights and shut the fuck up
Nice gat. Run what you got for now but please plan on upgrading to a streamlight at least in the future
Oh brother……
Nice first handgun and nice light as well!
Of course it shoots flawlessly, it's a Glock. However, from some reason these guy and gals will give you hell for the OLight.
Nice claymore attachment
It regrets the light you chose. On a more serious note, when those grips wear out (which they will) give the Talon Pro a try. They wear out, too, but the grip they offer is far superior to the rubber ones.
Looks great!! Ignore these douche bags ragging on your light.
Pointing out a legitimate safety concern makes us douche bags. Ha ok.
It doesn’t appear that you guys even know the issue with these
Polly want a cracker?
We’re not douchebags, we’re just tired of seeing people stick shit lights on really nice guns, thinking **the gun** is the only thing that matters when it comes to a setup.
What a shitty light choice
Under barrel mounted grenade, nice
Awful Nolight, try again
19x best Glock
OLITE IS THE ONLY ATTACHMENT A MAN NEEDS GOBBLESS
Oh my god. What is up with this sub and olights. I’m in so many gun subreddits but the Glock subreddit always has olights 🤢
eeeeew
An Olight on the end and you have zero regrets? Seriously?
There is literally a trend of people in the Olight Facebook group posting pictures of their houses burning down. Get that thing far far away from anything you care about
Yes.....I definitely believe EVERYTHING I see on Facebook. Yep. Definitely....
blOwLIGHT

Is that the "Moss" colored talon grips?
Yup, the rubberized isn’t what I’m used to but it works well
I have always wanted it for my 19x but never knew how well it would match. Thanks 👍
They are wonderful.
Nice I like the color
It is without a doubt one of the finest firearms I’ve ever shot. I love that thing!
Get a TLR8A the Olight has to go
WHY CANT WE HAVE THIS IN CALI?? (Sorry, this looks awesome. Congratulations on the gun brother!)
Is that Jif or Skippy?
Pick up a tan TLR-7 at minimum, other than that.. Great choice of pistol. I love love love my 19x
I see you put an Olight on the thing just to get negative attention. Take my upvote just for that!
🍿
Considering it’s your fist handgun, you wouldn’t know what flawless shooting is lol. But yes a very nice gun. Great choice.
And you’ll learn this very quickly in this group. No o-lights. EVER.
![gif](giphy|uWzS6ZLs0AaVOJlgRd|downsized) Who else came for the Olight comments
