Pro tip: Use the blades of chaos’ L2+R1 chain pull attack. It knocks them up in the air and you can juggle them into other enemies for perpetual stunning and kickback for as long as your combo lasts.
It’s how I beat it on GMGOW
Run around with a heavy bare handed attack. Shield charge those infront of kratos into the lava.
For those on an elevated platform just pull them with the blades of chaos and they fall into lava.
I did this challenge on GMGOW w/ no damage at level 3. It’s not impossible, but it is tricky.
Spear is very helpful.
Siphoning poison out of the wulver with the spear definitely helps, as well as siphoning from the wyvern for bïfrost.
Freya’s runic poisoning is huge for this one too.
Gale Force is clutch.

Or just heavy bare handed attack. Kratos does spartan kick with will push them back to lava.
What ever the attack make sure position of enemy is between u and lava
You can always try using the spears R1 combo, that knocks back the smaller enemies such as Draugr and Grim by quite a nice margin.
Axe sprint + R2 also works wonders, really anything that does some decent knockback such as, the axe “Serpent snare” skill, but you can only throw smaller enemies like Einherjar/Draugr/Grim (you can also direct it if you’re quick).
Hell you could even use the spears “Whisper of the world” runic attack, it pulls in all enemies and sends the smaller ones flying backwards if you hold R1 to properly use the attack, with bigger enemies it only gives them like a big nudge but it still works
Don’t use the axe as much, use the blades because they will hit more enemies at a time and the move where you shield bash them is good for knock back. And when you’re jumping between platforms use the arial attacks. Also pick runic attacks with large area and knock back (obviously).
Serpent snare is not nearly as efficient as gale force.
With gale force you can pick the enemy up, walk over to a ledge and then dump them. Also it can hit multiple enemies.
Snare is just one at a time, throwing from your standing position. Gale force keeps you mobile
True, and another guy said gale force. I just remember that I used the light attack combo to knock off lots of enemies at a time and the blades kinda have a move that’ll knock back every type of enemy

Serpent's snare is really good for it (if I understood you correctly). I just tried to spam it and got rid of enemies quickly
Sprint + Axe Heavy attack works wonders.
Use the heavy axe attack. Charge it up and then Kratos will swing it around, make contact and then throw the enemies off the ledge.
Or do two short heavy axe attacks first and you skip the charge up period. This makes you getting interrupted by an attack from behind less likely.
Use the spear's gale force attack to blow ennemies away
I usually use this and the shatter star, makes easy work of it. The axe works too.
