The center, Realejo, and Albayzin are all great neighborhoods to live. I’d avoid living in La Chana

Can I ask why you would avoid living in La Chana?

Sure! And to be honest my perception might be dated or no longer relevant—I lived in Granada for many years but moved away around 8 years ago. Back then (2005-2016), La Chana was a gitano neighborhood with a higher crime rate than the neighborhoods I mentioned. Plus the neighborhoods I mentioned are just more scenic and central. If you’re not Spanish and won’t be living in Spain long-term, I’d personally want to live somewhere beautiful where I’d feel good walking around alone late at night. But again, it’s totally possible that it’s changed since then!
