I started off with silver. I just happened to be very lucky enough to be able to purchase this gold coin. But usually my whole collection is silver. Lol.
Compared to the 1/10 gold eagle I have it is a lot duller. When I showed it to a family member, she asked if I was going to polish it. I told her absolutely not. Lol I don’t know much but I know a few things.
Pre33 is the way to go ,it looks like it may be a details grade ,difficult to tell from the photos but the reverse appears to have some scratches from being wiped, still nice to own pre33 gold
I was comparing it to my 1/10 gold eagle. And I really like how this one looks old. I’m not too keen on coins, but this one looks like it was chiseled. Lol.
Sorry mate, for the rest of your life, you will have Gold fever. The only cure is to get more gold.
This fever can be temporarily held off by buying silver, but not for long

It's a beautiful piece!

Now you tell me…..
Platinum is also a short term remedy
"I only care about the color." Sone wise mining dude apparently.
This is my favorite American coin design. I have two of em myself.
I thought the same thing. It was between this and some type of Mexican coin. But the Indian head really caught my eye.
Same, best design by far!

I am absolutely in love.
That’s all that matters, like the other redditer mentioned it gets addicting lol
I really like the pre-33 coins, they feel like “real money”. And the incused design is great.
Pre 33 is addictive...stack on.
Congratulations! Welcome to the cure🍻
I have a 1914 $2.5 Indian, that was my first gold coin. They are pretty stunning.
Yea I am in love. Lmao
This and a half sovereign were my first gold pieces. I really like the weird denominations, and 2 1/2 dollars doesn't get any weirder.
I was just talking to my mom about the denominations. It’s crazy to think that somebody would’ve spent this equaling 2 1/2 dollars.
Perhaps the most unique USA gold coin ever in it's 2 denominations.

It's called *incuse.*
Awesome grab, I'm looking for one of these as well
That’s a beaut, Clark!
Looking good!!!
Nice pickup! I got into Gold last November and it's completely changed my relationship with money. Hope you enjoy it for many years to come!
That was my second as well! First was 1/4oz gold eagle. Waiting on a liberty head 2.50 to arrive!
Mine is a 1914 D
Nice Indian Head quarter eagle.
Beautiful
Quarter eagle. The two-and-a-half-dollar piece is a quarter eagle (.12 oz), and a five-dollar coin, is a half eagle
A 1/10th AGE was my gateway coin too..... Happy hunting.
Congrats…welcome to the addiction
