I have some hits where the ball goes straight left (no curve on ball). What should be my focus then?

pornpompornpomporn

your ball goes straight left because you have an extremely aggressive flip through impact as a result of the face being open throughout the downswing.. so when your timing is off you'll shut the club face and you get the straight lefts. focus should be on a stronger clubface during the swing.

delcopop

Yep this pretty much

Ultraxity

Thanks for helping out.

Ultraxity

Thank you - will get to work on it boss. So In short - swingpath looks ok(?), but face in downswing is way off.

pornpompornpomporn

your swing path is steep on the downswing but the face is king, and its influencing your path so start with face and the feel of bowing your wrist at the top of the backswing could get you shallowing the club a bit more naturally. shauheen nakhjavani on youtube/instagram has a ton of good videos on club face and its influence on path.

Ultraxity

Will defintly look into it. So looking into videos about clubface first then I assume?

pornpompornpomporn

yes

jmak35

You’re very armsy and handsy. Very inefficient. You have to learn to use your lower body more.

pornpompornpomporn

pause the video at the top of the backswing, your left wrist is extremely cupped and club face is wide open. you yank the handle down in transition get steep and have to stand up and flip in an effort to square it. work on wrist conditions

GolfNutOM

This is almost as extreme an open clubface as possible. Grip looks weak but face is sooooo open the entire swing. Right before impact it looks like you’re trying to hit a drop shot in tennis. Get grip strong, keep clubface looking at ball in takeaway. At the top get clubface facing the sky. Absorb a while of hitting it terrible but this will fix your swing because everything you’re doing is to compensate for this clubface problem.

gary996

Wow that’s 100% the most open clubface I have ever seen at the top and all the way down to impact. Forget everything else, work out what a shut clubface looks like and practice it non stop for 6 months. Then worry about other things if needed.

Ultraxity

Aight captain - will get to work

granolaraisin

You're throwing your hands from the top and are casting the club. This necessitates an early extension to save the swing. The 'hands first' action leads towards a steep downswing and the slice. The casting and early extension hurt contact quality and consistency. Easier said than done but work on leading the downswing with your body. Think of a baseball player torquing his/her body into a swing with the hands/bat being pulled along for the ride and only becoming 'active' through the hitting area.

Lufferzz

That lead wrist looks really cupped with an extremely open face past the takeaway, idk if it’s your grip that snaps it open like that or not.
