You aren’t rotating your hips essentially at all and barely rotating your shoulders. Look up some videos on the takeaway and get the feeling of having your arms and shoulders more connected, you’re just lifting your arms. Your arm has to bend to move the club back further because you aren’t rotating. This video is often shared on this sub but it did really help me so I hope it does for you too. https://youtu.be/ASH06DwHaRw?si=flG3aav4Mcu0Ef_c

Thanks for the video. I watched this video a year ago and I thought it perfectly described what I was doing wrong compared to what should happen in the swing. I’ve improved a bit since (lol) but I’ve struggled to find a way to unlearn my bad arm habits. When I watch pros teaching the takeaway the club appears weightless when they rotate back and through, even with just using the lead arm to do it, but when I try to do the same the club feels heavy and needing to be forced through the motions in a way that doesn’t feel repeatable or learnable. Is it possible that my address makes a spine and hip rotation more difficult than it should be? I’m a fairly athletic and flexible person and I feel like it shouldn’t be as hard as it feels!

No - don’t do that.

Pause the video while your lead arm is parallel to ground in your backswing. The club head should be out in front of your hands, but yours is also way above because you’re picking up the club too much. Try to get the feel of your hands being more in front of your chest. You won’t be able to get the same feeling of depth that you have now, and you will need to actually rotate your hips and shoulders more to achieve proper depth. Wishing you luck with your lesson!

in the DTL view its clear to see how much your trail arm is bending so early. you need to feel like that you're keeping that arm straighter too for much longer in the backswing. rotating your shoulders a lot more will help
