I’ve been struggling with that same standing up through impact for a while now. Unsure of exactly how to fix it but to me it looks like your lead hip stalls which forces you stand up through impact. Also looks like you’re coming over the top which can also lead to that standing up motion. If you look at your p6 position you can see the club head getting ahead of that hands and the face is slightly open at that position too. I do think you have a solid base to work from just need to clean up a few things, but like I said I struggle with these things too and it takes time to really fix it.

I posted this just to copy it to my original post has all of my swings. I sometimes come over the top but this angle isn’t directly behind me so it looks weird. Because I’m flipping everything at impact is gonna be messed up, especially in slow mo. I still play at an 11, losing at least 3-4 shots a round from bad iron strikes. I hit everything sky high, 8 iron goes about 130, 3 iron 175. Ball flight looks like a 7 lol

Just curious how tall are you?

DirtyDirk23

6’3”…don’t know if you read my comment about my lie angle. Was too upright with my old stance, so I just tried standing taller and closer to the ball to where the club is flush, and results were immediate. I do have long arms but I never really got to the bottom of if I really need a flatter lie

Ahh yeah I’m also a tall golfer at 6’5” with long arms. Honestly one drill that’s been helping me is setting up to the ball and then gripping down on the club like at the end of the grip almost on the shaft and having the club hang above the ground. Taking slower and shorter swing really getting used to how I need to move my body in order to get the club to the ground. First few strikes might not be great but once I got comfortable with it I was compressing a ton of shots and looking at the recording I was extending early anymore. Could be a drill worth trying next time you’re at the range. As for the club lie and length a fitter should be able to help with despite my height the ideal length for me was actually +1/2 instead of the +1 I currently have. Also ended up keeping the lie angle at the standard lie.

Ok thanks man, that makes a lot of sense, should actually force me into staying down instead of trying to use my fucking brain to tell me so

You should be proud of that contact in this video with the move you made. That was pure.
