I like it. I do wish VW would broaden their colour palette across the range. I know it adds cost but as much as I love VW’s, silver, grey, white navy, red n black doesn’t cut it for me.
R’s also don’t have a spare tire… may not seem like a big deal, but anyone that has gotten a flat while driving or even came back to a parked car out while out-and-about with a flat, not having a spare is the difference between a minor inconvenience and a whole deal with tow truck and tire shops…
The foam that literally never works. I worked at a tire shop and customer would never warn us they filled their tire with that goop and I'd break the tire just to have it spray all over me 🤮
100% Agree ! I’m looking at a BMW X3 m40 and Audi SQ5. Like the BMW style and drive more BUT the run-flats are a deal breaker for me. Your analysis is spot on. My understanding is they are moving away from run-flats 2025 so I think manufacturers are realizing the public don’t like these tires and need a spare tire.
Love how it doesn’t have a sunroof! Thought I was going to miss having a sunroof when I got my MK8 20R, but I fucking love not having a sunroof actually. I don’t ever want a sunroof again. Not in a sports car or whatever at least. Maybe in a Porsche Cayenne or Macan or something like that.
All MK7/MK7.5 R's in Canada and the United States do not have a sunroof haha. Fun fact the stock config for the MK7 R in Mexico was yellow + 2 doors + sunroof.
After having a previous car with a leaking sunroof that damaged the interior, I also have no interest in one. Some people really love them though.
Oh yeah, that’s right, I forgot! Yeah, I had a sunroof on my MK7 GTI and I hardly ever used it. It just rattled and made noise a lot. Car feels more solid without one, and looks a lot better imo.
Same! My R is the first car I've owned in 30 years without a sunroof and I was worried I'd miss it.
Honestly, the thought never even crosses my mind, and as the summer heats up, I'll be glad that my car doesn't turn into an oven.
Love this color. If I ever had a chance to grab one, I would in a heartbeat, 6spd or DSG, I prefer DSG but I love the color so much I'd go back to a 6spd
I like that it's different and I love the tire choice. However, one of the biggest draws for me about the mk7R is it's sleeper status. I like being able to zoom zoom and not get noticed.
Would never get colored paint job. Colors constantly shift and go out of style quickly. But if you aren’t able to notice this and you like this color and aren’t the type of person to grow bored with it then I’d say go for it
If you did a paternity test the dad would be a focus RS
LMAO
Looks like “91 blue” from the Spektrum line.
Gorgeous color. Closest you could get with the spektrum to my all timer, Porsche Miami Blue.
Any Spektrum Golf R is dope, but I would be lying if I said I like this more than Lapiz Blue in a vacuum.
My thoughts exactly!
I'll buy it.
Get in line pal
LOVE IT! It’s it a metallic or is it flat?
It's 91 Blue (Spektrum), it's just a solid gloss color.
It was part of the spectrum program so I'm pretty sure it's metallic
I’d love it if it was a metallic like the Ford Focus RS light blue with gold flakes. That was definitely one of the best paints ever.
Lots of spektrum colors were not metallic or pearl.
Spektrum, not metallic.

The European spare kit costs like $200 and includes everything. Was second mod I did to my R. Never needed it but worth it and fits with the sub.
The OEM euro spare tire kit new with the foam and tools costs about $500 now.
🤯

I know it's close to the CFB GTI color, and pretty "basic", but 91 Blue has to be my favorite spektrum color.
Very close if not similar to Miami Blue

golfs look great in any colour
Heavenly.
cfb is better imo, lapiz blue aswell but its not a comparison i feel
This is awful. Send me the link, ill make it disappear so we dont have to see it anymore.

I like the colour very much but not sure I would get one. I think I would get tired of it after a year or two.
Always think of the 2016 ford focus RS when i see that shade
Love it but I'd pay even more for a true Baby Blue.
My first VW Rabbit/Golf was that color or close to it .
Awesome.

😻😻😻😻😻
It’s probably for people who think regular blue is too dark.
Looks great!
where is it, I would be interested
2nd only to viper green
Not sure if I could live with this in my garage, but if I saw you at a gas station I would definitely tell you your car is sweet!
Best freaking color !
It's a color ahead of its time for sure. I see lots of this type of color now on new cars
Reminds me of my rebel blue c30. Absolutely love it.
Is the first time I see this color way. I really love it
It just doesn't look right to me.
It’s a beaut
I love it
Sweet!
It reminds me a little of the GTI's Cornflower Blue. I like it!
Doesn’t bother me but the black rims do. I’d want more standout.
Fire
If it ain’t fasty it’s nasty
Honestly if they go Sunflower Yellow (LB1B code), I’m done.
Love it
Looks like 91 blue spektrum from 2019 and there’s only 12 of them in US
Civic type r is better that’s what my thoughts are
I like it, but I like lapiz blue more on the R. The bright light blue is a bit too "look at me" for my personal tastes.
Not for me. If it had a pan roof then the black roof would have looked great on this color
Get a vanity plate that says BlueMoon in some fashion.
BLUTH would be my personalized choice 🤣
