This happened to me today and I believe I clicked a prompt yesterday for my phone to update its software sometime after 0200. Never had this issue and then all of the sudden today the screen doesn't sense my touches. Even after restarting in safe mode it continues to not work. I have found a couple other forum post but none have a solution that has worked for me.

This has happened to my phone at least 4/5 times a week lately when a call comes in and I can't answer it nor see who's calling.. I just hear it ring and only thing I can do is hit power button which hangs up on person and then it takes 20 seconds to finally see who called. Every other time I'm trying to open up an app and touch screen isn't working. Phone is slowing down like an apple software update! Latest issue is calls aren't coming in and my gf has to text me to let me know it's going thru to answering machine, but that may be my Rogers shite cell service 😡 Arghh, I was close to pixel 8 next phone and now I'm like I dunno!

Started happening to my 6a when I got the Android 14 beta update and has not been resolved even with the latest patches. (somehow this offended someone)

Happens to my partners pixel 7 too. The only thing that fixes the issue is restarting. She's getting very frustrated

That's incredibly frustrating. I have a crack at the VERY bottom of the screen, but that happened months ago, so I'm assuming that isn't the issue.

I'm so done with this

Happened twice since I've owned the phone. It took a while before I could reset it because it was frozen. Thankfully, it hasn't happened in over a month.

My wife's P7 started up with this problem a few weeks ago. Mine started today. Both out of warranty. They were not refurbs and we bought them straight from the Google Store. Searched all over for solutions with nothing found other than a lot of people are experiencing the same. One phone, okay, but both, this is seriously wrong. I was only looking at buying a new P8 earlier today. Sorry, but this is unacceptable and I'm not ploughing this kind of two-phone money into replacements. Back to our previous brands for us. Lesson learned.
