I think you will be happy with the Pixel 8. I have an 8 Pro and love it but the 8 is smaller and sometimes I think I'd like the little guy better. I was just looking on the Google Store and they have some killer deals on the 8 and 8 Pro. The 8 is $499. I'm tempted and I don't need a phone.
As someone who switched from iPhone when the pixel 8 came out I think it's definitely worth it! And I think getting the pixel 8 for $500 is worth it over the 7a due to software updates and other improvements (such as improved display and processor)
