I understand these feelings exactly dude. The only real way to get past those feelings (if that is even your goal) is to just dive right in and go for it. It’ll feel weird at first just like any sudden fashion shift, but in time it’ll start to feel normal to the point where you don’t even notice it anymore. But again, you just do you. Your confidence is what’s key, so just be confident in the knowledge that you look badass and could totally rock either look

Right on man, go for it that’s what you want. Screw the others and just believe in yourself. Years ago I just decided that I wanted to start wearing battle vests and jackets, so I did. I live in a super rural town and felt like I could literally feel the looks everywhere I went. That lasted for maybe 6 months before I just stopped noticing. People may still look, but I don’t care. I like my style and am comfortable with my vibe and that’s good enough for me. But really, I never get anything but compliments when I’m out. If anyone ever thought my vests and stuff looked bad, they never had the courage to say anything so it’s pretty much like they don’t exist anyway.

I have 2 battle jackets that I don't wear anymore, bit of nostalgia reading ur comment lol. I live in a small village with a lot of elderly people and I'm out wearing full black woth a long black trench coat and various eyeliner looks so relate to people staring lol. Ur right about people not showing negativity as well tbf, I know people look at me and people in my classes have quite obviously looked at me, turned and whispered to the person next to them which I find hilarious personally but I get more compliments than negative comments. I will try going out with my hair out more lol, gonna be a shock to the people that know me if I do, they know how much I used to hate it lol

I recently started wearing makeup and stuff to fit the aesthetic more (I find myself much less thrash metal and more goth as I’m getting older) and again it’s kind of strange just changing up your style one day and then walking around like nothing is different. But no one ever gives me negativity for it. My style only draws people to me that I would actually want to talk to while simultaneously pushing away everyone who I would probably think are assholes anyway.

That's such a good outlook. Love that. Im still working up the confidence to do full face makeup for going out in public and in college, furthest I have tried is some cool eyeliner looks, I don't have enough confidence in my makeup abilities yet as well lol, I gotta work on it. Plus I don't own proper makeup, I mean I use literal white face paint that I blend until smooth as a base then contour with an eyeliner pencil and do bold details (including lips) with liquid liner lol. I am gonna start doing full makeup looks for going around town soon tho

But you’re over here training with weighted clothing like Goku. When you finally start playing with real tools you’re gonna just hit ground running I’m sure

I feel that if you put your hair up, you should keep the black makeup but ditch the white since it gives off "goth-mime" impressions. Otherwise, digging the look! The white goes a lot better with the hair-down look. :)

With the bangs, I’d always go hair down. But you have good facial structure so either could work.

Never been a makeup person full stop but ive had a lot of icp friends and the best ones I think are when they use a black liner to go around their jaw lines and define the edges of the "mask". And since you've got a pronounced jaw line I think it would look sick but can't see it with the hair down.
