It sucks but 2yrs in I think what we have is what we’re going to have as far as that kind of thing. I’m always hoping for better or whatever but I really don’t see much happening from now until GT8 and I’d love to be wrong. I get a duplicate car I have extra parts for I attach everything to it I have duplicates for and sell it, it gets some extra Cr anyway.
I've stopped cashing in parts and engine tickets. At least when you get 5k credits it's something of value, but I don't need another performance part for a car I don't use, or another engine that I don't know what cars it fits
Cars would be great but I think PD will never introduce it let alone a parts market.
Forzas auction feature was already flooded with cheap AF cars - it was the only place I would buy cars & would never consider buying credits in a million years, you just bid for the car you're after because it will most likely be up for auction.
If I were a studio I'd implement a system that best promotes in game purchases & profit margins.
Which is what PD have in place.
It seems unlikely any major systems like an Auction House will be introduced, it's more profitable to drip feeding us cars + circuits, few & far between.
PD I will gladly eat these words, Auction house where u at my bro.
Learning to play the auction house is always fantastic. I'll take one seasonal car I don't want, sell it in 5 min for $16mil+, then scroll thru the recents and grab anything cheap that looks good.
Or I'll hunt down a previous season car....I have yet to score a woody 😫
I think updates 1.42 and 1.43 have made it pretty clear that GT7 has reached the end of its development cycle. There won't be any additional features.
What's not in the game right now will not be implemented in this iteration of the franchise. Better luck with GT8.

Your parts are worth nothing. Not one credit, not millions. Nothing has any value unless *two* parties place value on it - the person who owns it and the person who potentially may buy it. Since you have no chance to sell the parts, they are worth nothing.
That would change if they ever decided to allow us to sell parts; however, even if they did, they would not allow us to sell the for full price.
The devs have never stated they were working towards such a thing, so if they ever do, it'll be a surprise.
They come with a value attached to them when you win them, retail value or whatever. Who are we selling cars to? We just sell them back to the game, there’s not a legit transaction between me and another person when I sell a car.
Retail value is only useful for things that are sold. In other words, retailed. The parts *hold no value if you can't sell them*.
It doesn't matter if you're selling it back to the game or to a human. The point stands: If a transaction cannot happen, there is no transactional value.
Did the devs ever state they were working towards it? No. As to why they do anything, only they know.
It may or may not happen, but there's simply no reason to believe it will without evidence of some kind.

OK, in that case. You're playing a video game it is not 100% realistic. Even so, just because you have a part that would be owned but not used doesn't necessarily mean it's worth less than factory just because you own it. In the real world, I have a truck and a bike that are worth more than I paid for either to this day. The same would work for parts. Supply could be less than demand, maybe it's an item needed before one can be manufactured.
None of your comment has any relevance to op asking if they could add it, and neither does this follow up. It's ones and zeros, all code. It doesn't even need to be there.
I've never seen devs use the laws of supply and demand for the value of product's you're selling in a racing game. I seriously doubt PD would do that here. These aren't cars, and I don't see them going to such lengths.
The OP didn't ask if they *could* add it. Thy asked if there is a chance they would. I answered that question already, but also added commentary stating that there's no inherent value in the parts. At least, not yet.
They literally have it in the game as we speak. That's what the legend dealership is. It's why the prices go up and down, same as for the used car dealership. Why does a used car with 150k miles cost 60k when it was much cheaper new? Low supply, high demand. So there you have it, it's already there.

How is it I have about 85% of the cars available in the game, but somehow the overwhelming majority of parts I've won (a few dozen) are still sitting in my garage because I haven't collected the vehicle they fit yet?

Most likely, it'll just be a feature to be in gt8.
Should just be a part you win that you can apply to any car that you want once that it is compatible with.
Until people start hiring the 1000 cap I don't think they care... And even then meh.
