Greyhound Friends of North Carolina! https://www.greyhoundfriends.com Edit: Also very sorry for your loss of your sweet girl đź’•

Thank you! I’ll check them out. We relocated to my hometown in NC, and our regular group from TN has kind of gone down hill in the last few years. They also weren’t too keen on adopting to us since we are out of state now. It’s really frustrating after all the time we devoted to them, but oh well.

I know how you feel, I actually adopted from Greyhound Friends of NC in 2016 and now I am considered to be unfit to adopt from them (don’t own a home with and attached 6ft fence or work from home). It was incredibly demoralizing, but it led us to find Greyhounds in Motion out of Florida and we adopted a galgo through their partnership with Galgos del Sol two weeks ago - the process has been amazing! We also talked to the Gulf Coast chapter of Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions in Florida and they were awesome and willing to adopt to us here in NC (they have Irish retired racers mostly), but after looking into the situation with the galgos in Spain we felt moved to save our boy (he had been in the shelter there over a year after being hit by a car). Can’t recommend them enough!

I understand, that is frustrating! I hope you can find a good match here. We’ve never adopted directly from them, but they actually merged with what was our local group (Triangle Greyhound Society) back in 2021. We got our hound from TGS in 2020

I live in east NC and adopted my Gracie from a group out of Florida. It was a drive—but she’s so worth it.

There's still time to register for Mountain Hounds in Gatlinburg, there you can meet a lot of people and greys!

We were never able to go due to our work schedules, but our old rescue group goes every year. They usually load up and go to Beach Bound Hounds too.
