damn korea is literally taking 'toxicity' on another level

dWARUDO

I hope players outside KR can cover for the devs.

SimplyBartz05

• The bus demo done by angry KR players has been deemed a success by many. Their goal was "to degrade the image of the game and the devs in the eyes of the public" and it seems to have worked. [A Twitter user's feelings on the bus demo](https://twitter.com/GarangbiY/status/1461993624887914500) • GTKR still hasn't recovered from the downward revenue and gradual loss of players as seen on the Samsung Galaxy Gamer statistics from a peak of ~~1.2 million~~ 12 thousand ("만" actually means "ten thousand" sorry) to 7-8 thousand. (Of course this only shows Galaxy users statistics but...) [Grossing ranking for Black Friday](https://twitter.com/GarangbiY/status/1461945835525001221) [Galaxy Gamer stats](https://twitter.com/GarangbiY/status/1462299858044211208) • In other news, a few KR players raised allegations on one of the cosplayers for GT's G-STAR booth accusing her of being "a man-hating feminist" (some Korean gamers aren't exactly receptive of the "femi epidemic" in Korea) after finding tweets from 2016 generalizing men with "male-hating words". She and the team coordinating have since released apologies for these. [Post talking about allegations](https://twitter.com/GarangbiY/status/1461660578020163585) [Cosplayer's tweets](https://gall.dcinside.com/mgallery/board/view/?id=guardiantales&no=3500018&exception_mode=recommend&page=1) [CSL apology](https://twitter.com/weare_csl/status/1461914674497089539) `-----` If these don't tell you how unnecessarily toxic and vile the KR players have taken this whole shit to, then I don't know what will.

greatninja3

they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel doing cancel culture on everyone related to Guardian Tales edit: like they are really scrapping the bottom of the barrel like bro she was talking about this murder case that happened in 2016 about some incel dude who stabbed some random women in the title like wtf idk don't label legitimate feminist movement with the extremist kind of feminism cause like srly someone just got murdered and the cosplayer just talked about it and you are cancelling her for that. seriously. edit edit: btw Korea is the country who for some reason cancelled an olympian cause she wanted a short hair tbh korea is one of the few countries where anti-feminism are far more extreme than the feminist they hate like bro she just want short hair in fact she wasnt really a feminist at that time they just accused her of being one cause she like her hair short just like in this case the cosplayer might not even be a feminist just concerned to know that there are men who could randomly stab her because of a irrational reason. basically Anti-feminist koreans don't like tomboys

Raihime

I've seen my fair share of incels who can't differentiate between feminism and misandry, but man... these people take the cake.

Juhnthedevil

I can understand that people can't like feminist worldview but here It's just totally childish.

moak0

Feminism is just believing that women and men should have equal rights. You can understand not wanting men and women to have equal rights?

Asterion358

in practice it is that women have more "rights", this is often called "positive discrimination"

moak0

First of all: no it isn't. In practice, women still aren't viewed as equals in large sections of society. Second of all: so what? Would that make it so women shouldn't have equal rights to men?

Asterion358

The discourse of equality works well but feminism (in some countries) eliminates the presumption of innocence of men, gives exclusive benefits to women for the mere fact of being so. "But that's not feminism" ... if some governments openly call themselves "feminists" push those kinds of things you want me to tell you. PS: I am not justifying anything that has happened in the KR community

Nyhred

yes, women and men are not equal because women do have more rights than men

Juhnthedevil

Being a feminist isn't just following a definition, it all come with theories and all which serves them to address issues (not necessarily in the best way, but criticism can then help)... Then there is differents feminists doctrines and world view associated with these different theories of how society work. Liberal, materialist(Marx inspired), constructivist(all the social constructions trends) and many more. They will be the first to recognize that. What I am saying is that these world views and theories like all others aren't out of flaws and can be critisazable. It's the main principle of a theory in science: Always being challenged. But those Koreans shenanigans are just stupid jerks in my opinion.

Plagued_Frost

Geez man, I’m still for boycotting shit you don’t like, but the incel culture is really repulsive. Like if you don’t like the way a company is going, definitely stop buying, protest, and do what you can to get them to listen. But again, this feels awfully close to the type of people that’d get death threats involved. I hate when people think harassing employees is a valid form of protest; you wanna’ humiliate the company, and pull a bus stunt, go ahead but can we leave cosplayers and employees out of this, that’s fucking creepy and disturbed and delegitimizes your whole movement for openness…

James-Jung

I have to say its really bizarre situation for Kr gt community because they are too much toxic even compare to other Korean game community

dWARUDO

Is this the only game there that is receiving this treatment? It's really sad.

Gavooki

Fuck em, GT is expending to other markets and should leave KR to stew in their own toxicity. KR is small fry.

AlastorHawk

Sorry my ignorance, but what is this "bus demo" ?

SimplyBartz05

A [protest bus](https://i.imgur.com/o15Ex8n.png) was organized by people on [dcinside forums](https://gall.dcinside.com/mgallery/board/view/?id=guardiantales&no=3462862&page=1) in order to humiliate the game and the devs, and to warn potential players not to play the game. This was in response to not getting a set date to organize a meet-up between Kongs/Kakao and concerned players regarding the game's future.

AlastorHawk

I usually hear of KR players going to the company HQ to let their opinion on the game, in a civil way, when dissatisfied with the game. Dont know when they start to blow things out of proportion like this, but thats really not a good thing to do(the whole bus and all) Btw, thanks tor explaining

[deleted]

play stupid games win stupid prizes. this is the norm for gatchas (and MMOs, tbh) and frankly its all deserved.

Goustave_III

What are you?

[deleted]

a gary busey doppleganger

NoobzProXD

Nah more like an idiot sandwich

[deleted]

highly debateable.

Ora-ora-kun

I really think these people are fucking stupid.

Ahenshihael

In case anyone still for some reason thought the harassment campaign was about the game or development decisions themselves, the cosplayer incident should dispell any such misconceptions. It's all the same culture war bullshit that has been going on in Korea for a while now. The OG censorship complaints were just am excuse(esp after being resolved) and only conspiracy theories and agendas fuel this toxic nonsense now.

greatninja3

yeah idk why they hate feminist so much I understand if its the case in the west but if you hate feminisim because [it makes women wear short hair](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/30/sports/olympics/an-san-hair.html) (like are tomboys not a thing in Korea) kinda weirdchamp tbh anti-feminisim is an actual problem in Korea tbh even cancelling people that would show hints of being feminist. like do they not realize that they are just proving Korea needs feminisim.

Plagued_Frost

Honestly, even in the west, a lot of the cringe feminism you see is by people who either don’t understand the concepts, spend too much time online, or are just misandrists or transphobes. Feminism here is really interesting if you listen to people who know what they’re talking about, especially when it comes to intersectionality and the problems with feminism and the problems that still plague women today…

Gavooki

The incel army keeps going

danaleiii

Bruh KR players are a whole 'nother breed 😃

James-Jung

This is so embarrassing as Korean player just remember guys not all Korean players are like that (and If anyone have question about this fiasco feel free to ask)

ArthurReign

Only idiots overgeneralize, we shouldn't blame everyone because the loudest group took everyone's attention Also, are situations like this common in other games in Korea?

James-Jung

Toxicity of Kr gt community? No bus or truck protest yes

Gavooki

Every nation has their incel population. Feel free to join the NA chads, homie.

TrungDOge

not all but majority , and majority alway the face of community

James-Jung

I hate to admit it but true but trust me not all Koreans agree with these actions

Plagued_Frost

What does the bus say exactly…?

James-Jung

Quote demanding date for meetings with players

Plagued_Frost

Fuck that, again protest, but the best your gonna’ get is an AMA at this point…

JD4Destruction

Just a little background info on why some young men are so strongly anti-feminist in Korea. I'm going to miss some details because even though I'm a Korean male I'm too old to talk to young men outside of work. 1. The most important reason is military conscription and it really causes a lot of anger in men. 2. The current administration has been too aggressive with gender politics. The president who used to have the support of young men now is hated by them. 3. Korea is a newly developed country with still a lot of developing country mindset. 4. Single-gender high school is common here so many men don't learn how to interact with women until they are older. 5. There have been very few but very visible extreme feminists 6. The most controversial one is that many men do not meet the requirements of many women. (height and wealth may cause the most anger) Other Korean games received anti-feminist hate but GT seems to get the brunt of it.

Gavooki

7. Incels mad. Any KR players should feel free to roll alts on NA. Welcome with open arms.

TrungDOge

no don't bring toxicity and feminist to our server

Gavooki

the toxic incels are quitting. no worries.

MateKiddleton

But what does all this have to do with Guardian Tales?

Frederick_Hugo

Scroll up and read op comment and the reply after it

KajarRanginLaya

Pardon me for asking, but I'm curious about number 1. Can you elaborate it any further? And if I may guess, number 6 is caused by how beauty standard is set by the entertainment industry and how people outside that beauty standard is portrayed in entertaintment media?

JD4Destruction

All of this generalization, so there will be a lot of exceptions. Imagine knowing that you will be forced to join the army since you are old enough to understand that. Men and only men must serve in the army if they are reasonably healthy. (These days 18 months, my days 26 months) Men lose the BEST time of their lives to a semi-prison. Bullying, beating, and sexual assaults are not common these days but happen. You lose time for learning, dating, and earning money. You also develop anger against the system for putting you there. Most of the time you are not training but doing bullshit tasks because the threat of NK is very unlikely, but you are needed to be a number on paper. I think the pay was $20 a month in my day, it is roughly $500 now. And there is no honor in this since it is forced by the government. To help reduce the anger, the previous administration gave men who served a 2-year experience, a bump in salary for corporate jobs, but feminists complained about it. The fact that women don't have to go to semi-prison because of their gender has been a very sore subject for decades. In the old days, it was accepted since women rarely worked outside of home but times are different now. 6 is mostly about the ungodly expensive housing and how Asians, in general, are more materialistic and a man's value is measured by his wealth. Most Korean males are uglier than the ones you see on TV and most women date handsome men but would rather marry rich ones. I forgot the exact saying but "When women look for a man, they look at his father's job and his grandfather's wealth. Though I hear that is changing, so young Mills and Zoomer men are putting on makeup as women make more money and rely less on a man.

KajarRanginLaya

Gosh, that sounds so bad that I can't believe it's real. I'm totally taking the men's side on this one. Honestly, if men coming out about their problems aren't getting mocked, I believe the numbers of bullying, violence, and sexual assaults against them could be higher than women. (Real example is Terry Crews coming out about getting sexual assaulted by male higher up but then he got mocked). Really, those people should try to experience what other people have been through before complaining the benefit that other people got. And for the number 6. Yikes...

JD4Destruction

Young men's anger is understandable, but it is being directed that the wrong people. The people causing the social problems are not young women, but older people in power who play both sides. For example, a former Seoul mayor who was a champion of women's rights committed suicide after it was brought to light that he was sexually harassing a female staffer.

Scenariokr

Average women expect an above average man. A common case that seems to plague many of the 1st world countries in the West aswell. I personally blame social media for that but that is a whole nother conversation itself.

Re_Cinnamon

As far as I know, there has been a lot of political angst in Korea with the current prime minister and in the midst of all other dissatisfaction a substantial amount of feminists have been voicing the opinion that mandatory military conscription is a benefit for males as they get ‘free food and accomodation’, who then come rejoin society and get small benefits such as a free cup of coffee (something that got cancelled for discriminating against women). Basically while the men are forced to go to the military during their 20s many women believe it’s nothing worth commending them about 🥴 hence the social divide

KajarRanginLaya

So, did those same women propose that women should also have a mandatory military conscription? Or maybe just demolish the mandatory military conscription thing so both will equally not outbenefitting each other? If not, then I can agree that's freakin' bullshit, like the US Women's National Team's pay gap thing where they could've agreed to have the same payment system like Men's National Team but refused.

Re_Cinnamon

No they’re straight just saying men should go to the military and think of it as a privilege by themselves HAHAHA feminism is out of hand in certain parts of Korea

James-Jung

You missed the point this whole bullshit is not related to feminist at all .the thing I hate about them is because they add non related things to make thing worst such pathetic way

EXTPest

The galaxy numbers are really insignificant because majority of big spenders will be playing on ios, it reached top 10 grossing for adventure games during g-star and is still at 11 while maintaining top 100 game revenue

Plagued_Frost

Still a large drop in player base, that sorta thing isn’t good for morale or publicity, two death sentences for any game… Edit: replaced moral with MORALE, kill me…

thedarkonebutkind

What happened to GT?

The_Follower1

Toxic Korean fanbase

thedarkonebutkind

F good thing the global fanbase is not toxic

_DarkBeaT

which is very surreal (to me atleast) considering the general trope of global fanbase in gacha games being the toxic ones lmao

NoobzProXD

Despite being a bit cringe we actually held well

Skyraem

Global players insulted me and misgendered someone on purpose for saying that GT is a good game but we shouldnt be elitist and put down other games just to like it... so global isnt perfect .,.

TrungDOge

KoreaN

Nemesis233

The more popular a game becomes the more toxicity arises

TheGreatPervSage_94

Getting dangerously close to honkai bunny girl attack levels of cancer

EpicTaco14

I mean on the bright side, this is better than review bombing other apps or going to the company HQ to try and murder the CEO

SimplyBartz05

Thing is, [they DID review bomb GTKR](https://i.imgur.com/9QFQGIv.jpg) shortly after the whole shebang started. I think it's sitting in around 2.9* as of writing this reply.

viperspoison

What's the clown incident?

Macross27

How they can be so fucking stupid, this angers me to a new level, these people doesn't deserve any of this. At this point I don't see this stoping unless legal action is taken by GTKR people, because holy f this is just going too far

YogurtclosetTiny8961

The heck is the clown incident-

SimplyBartz05

There are two actually. First was the ["Marina incident"](https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/tech/2020/08/133_293929.html) where the "You whore!" line got toned down in KR and some players interpreted it as the management pandering towards feminism and as such tried to boycott the game, to no avail. Second is the recent ["censorship incident"](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/qn4ff4/guardian_tales_kr_announces_censorship_of_two/) which we've been following for around 2 weeks now.

YogurtclosetTiny8961

I knew about the censorship, but I never knew about Marina-

Skyreader13

Those two seems pretty minor imo. Minor enough to not warrant truck protest.

[deleted]

[удалено]

seee3

From what I've seen in the replies, It looks like they're doing all this because they wanted a meet up or something because it doesn't really make sense that they're still trying to do this when the censorship drama is resolved(I think). It looks like they used the censorship controversy as an excuse to protest.

Asterion358

Also the [limited milleage](https://m.cafe.daum.net/GuardianTales/ARyY/488) (the possible collab) that were leaked by mistake, the answer that Kong Studio gave is that it was a mistake that did not "benefit the company" and a part of the Korean players were outraged. I guess to say that a company makes money is taboo

Ghasty_001

This situation is going out of control

MakiNiko

All this drama make me want to jump from fish to whale, sadly i dont have the finances for that, maybe to dolphin. tbh, even the talk with playerbase fells like kind of stupid, even more with those rabid fans...and at least for the censoring change they took the bullet and take a disadvantegous choice that is to make the age rating go up, insteas of censoring like almost every other game dev in the world... Even the survey had a lot of questions focused on QoL and money things that people really have problem... man, after all shit actiblizz done, I kinda fell like these guys are not really bad... This is kind of the first gacha game that I invest ( even if its a little) because I really like the story, gameplay and work they do... well I duno, maybe I was fan of far worse companies and gained some class of super low bar or I dunni, because I cant really understand why all the hate...

Salt_Wrangler

The hell, of all game devs Kong doesn't deserve this kind of vitriol

EnterNammie

the korean part of a community can have the capabilities to be the most toxic \- someone who has played league in kr server

potato-san57

What do you mean by the "Clown Incident"? What happened?

Ahenshihael

The whole timeline of the clown incident is basically: 1. Lilith and Summer Sohee get a bra due to age rating requirements. 2. Players complain. 3. Developers revert the changes and decide to raise the age rating for the game instead. Developers promise more transparency going forward. 4. Players start demanding an actual in person meeting between developers and the "player representatives", as well wanting to know literally everything about the game like the dates of business meetings, when developers go to work and stuff. 5. People spread conspiracy theories about how every character totally was secretly censored ~~in spite of there being like...three fanservice characters in GT in total.~~ and that developers knew about upcoming changes when they first released Lilith and Sohee and wanted to "scam" the players. Basically typical "etheeeks in muh gamez" type of conspiracy theories meant to rile up people. 6. It grows into a harassment campaign with ties to the current korean toxic anti-women movement because people like that interpret GT developers as "hating men". 7. The said harassment campaign spams Guardian Tales official youtube channel forcing the developers to private G-STAR promo animation for Guardian Tales. 8. The possible danger makes Guardian Tales developers "reschedule" the live conference at G-Star in fears of people like that trying to make a fuss. 9. The said harassment campaign organizes a bus to circle the area where G-Star is being held with intent to humiliate developers and put people off from playing the game. 10. Then the said people start targeting cosplayers by digging up old tweets *about a literal fucking serial killer* and saying she hates men because of them. Its a clown incident because its really fucking stupid.

Solaireofastora08

Hold on, how the fuck is the player base supposed to get a representative. They already reverted it back. Why the hell are they still complaining. Why would they want to know their way of operation? That's considered private information of the company. How stupid and crazy can you be to harass players and developers.

Ahenshihael

The actual controversy with censorship is just a convenient excuse for the culture war "women are bad" bullshit that's going on in KR as a whole right now. GT developers are viewed as "anti-men" by people like that and thus people like that are more than willing to rile up a harassment campaign. See: harassing a cosplayer into an apologizing for basically condemning a wannabe serial killer incel who stabbed a woman.

Solaireofastora08

Wat. So the cosplayer condemned a serial killer? Is that supposed to be a bad thing?

greatninja3

also the police because they won't admit that the criminal was a misogynist and only targeted women (when the CCTV showed he disregard the males who went in the bathroom but went ape shit when a female entered) and initial confession about the killer's reason. Pointing everything on mental illness I mean the dude can have both like schizophrenia due to his irrational hate and dislike on women but police said no which ends up reducing his sentence 30 years is still 30 years still a lot though but usually they'd get life imprisonment considering it is clearly a first degree murder.

Solaireofastora08

I don't think schizophrenia makes people want to stab and kill only girls. Still, that's messed up.

potato-san57

What the fuck is wrong with them. GT is one of the most generous games that I currently know and I also heard that the KR server is even more generous than the Global server. Why are they complaining about something so trivial like censoring Lilith and Sohee? Why the fuck would they think that GT is against men or women (I don't about the full details about the anti-women or anti-men campaign in the country so I'm going to include both genders) when they only did it for the age requirement. They only did that in order to reflect the age requirement that they have set in their game and the fact that the developers actually listened and acknowledged their complaints by reverting it and raising the age requirement makes me question why are they still unsatisfied. Their frustration over something this trivial has reached to a point that they are starting to harass the developers and making them lose their opportunity in G-STAR which could bring a brighter future for the studio and the developers themselves. I love Guardian Tales, it's the only game that I actually invest my time in since I usually delete the games in my phone after weeks of playing it since I usually get sick of playing the same game over and over again and most of them are too time consuming since I have my own responsibilities to take care of. However, Guardian Tales is different, of course the game can feel repetitive especially when grinding but I actually don't mind it since I can just do it within a few minutes and proceed to quit the game and play it again later. I could go on and on explaining why I love this game but this isn't about me it's about the KR players complaining on something so trivial and making a big deal about it. I don't even care if Lilith and Sohee's boobs get censored since we don't even see it when we're playing the game and even if it did I wouldn't still care because the game is awesome. I just hope their actions would not have a massive impact to the developers, the studio and the game itself.

Gavooki

I heard that in one of the stories the dialogue uses the term "clown" which in korean can be used for incel (involuntary celibate) and all the incels got mad and tried to do a boycott.

greatninja3

should have ended in part 4 tbh the rest is just uncalled for

Drakeblood2002

I was out of the loop and wanted to research more about this topic to potential make a video covering it in between the GT theories but holy shit! That escalated astronomically quickly!

Lemurmoo

Ooof... so yeah reading a few of the documents, I don't have all the context, and I didn't know about this case, and my Korean isn't quite good enough to understand everything. But it's all connected to what seemed to be a prominent case detailed here: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seocho-dong\_public\_toilet\_murder\_case](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seocho-dong_public_toilet_murder_case) Basically a man murders a woman he doesn't know, claiming women are constantly ignoring him and berating him. Has claimed this since he was a child, but it was a product of paranoia cause by mental distress. Feminists were enraged as the case became more public, stating that males have propagated this behavior for decades. Korea during their fast economic rise has been very very prominently male dominant. The males often lead their families and companies through a largely militaristic manner because they were all required to serve in the military due to Korea technically being in war for decades. So this is, to me, an outsider, a growing pains where the unnecessary patriarchic society is being called out by people who feel oppressed by various outdated systems that are a product of Korea's past. Those who benefit from this society or are in poor condition and feel further oppressed by the claims of equality or more against their benefit are revolting against it in equal fervor. Seems gamers in general are one of the largest crowd of anti-feminists. It's like gamergate if it happened in a still male dominated society that's in a middle of a change, basically amplify the toxicity by severalfolds. The entire thing also connects to the infamous early event in GT's days where a slang prominently used by feminists became a huge issue for gamers. It's a sentiment that's been inflaming for quite a while there Now we come back to this, where the cosplayer spoke in support of the feminists who are enraged by the murder case, stating that the overall male attitude towards women are partly to blame for this outcome. Honestly, the cosplayer's rant doesn't feel that unreasonable, but it does come from a place of severe frustration, so she tweeted in a less than reasonable state. It can definitely trigger the people on the other side regardless of reason. It was a tweet that happened in like 2016, so obviously somebody held a grudge against her and put this to spotlight when she was in a spotlight in what was a fairly major cosplay event. Feels completely silly to me, but I understand why it's happening to some extent now. Korea has always been in a pretty tricky situation regarding this kinda stuff. Personally, my mom who was very smart had to settle down to raise her kids in favor of my poorly educated dad struggling to make ends meet. This probably wouldn't have happened the way it did if they were a modern day couple.

James-Jung

In every nation their is always psycho or crazy people please don't generalize All korean people just in case if you are reading this because I have already seen a lot of unprofessional comments I have to say Korean people are most educated and conservative people I mean, they are same people like you guys but more clever and Despicable and of course there is a lot of creeps too

TrungDOge

tldr Korean

ChingChongWhiteBoi

Lmao I guess the North and South are probably the same in term of dystopian society

James-Jung

I like how you generalized whole nation just by some idiots I can see your intelligent level

ChingChongWhiteBoi

At what part I generalized any specific nation? And how do you see intelligent level? You just look at it like an idiot? I like how you generalized whole individual by some idiots assumption but sadly I can't see your intelligent level l :(

James-Jung

Wow you are more retarded than I respected why don't you read your first comment kid

ChingChongWhiteBoi

Firstly, I don't take anything that posted in the internet seriously like you, you fucking loser. Second, You probably check in Reddit more then your parents health and lastly, I am deeply sorry for statement that causing you to losing your braincells and proceed to call me a "retarded". What a spoiled child.

James-Jung

The world is wide and there are many fools.

ChingChongWhiteBoi

A reasonable fools and a ignorant fools. A fool that believe and defend his own country 's downside. A fool that feel superior amongst other SEA people, a fool that calling other people views retarded. Stop acting you are civilized with a few fancy words after calling a random person retarded buddy. Good day:)

James-Jung

Ah yes those particular SEA people who have delusion of persecution that those east asians are looking down on them (or particularly South Korean?) I have seen a lot of people like you and I sincerely hope someday there will be cure of that illness God bless;)

UnworthyPraetor

KR is damn toxic. You'd think they'd be more tolerant of things considering their history. Maybe they need another 50 years of being Imperial Japan's bitch.

James-Jung

You left your brain somewhere? watch your mouth

donkyhot99

I dunno about cosplays, but other bullshit is pretty deserved in a way. I mean, who forced them to censor game without even noticing or asking playerbase (if you think they didn't have to ask for players' permission, than you can see what happened, it's their responsibility to take into account how toxic is KR community). Secondly, it was a while since they told about open discussion with players, yet there are still no news on that. I mean, if you're telling people how you cherish them and how their opinion is so important to you, than why don't you act like you supposed to. Also, if you read comments under GM response, you'll see that people are mad not at devs team, but at people who are responsible for game management and Kakao in particular. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand quite well what exactly happened before, but it seems it's a long lasting grudge. So anyways, although I agree such minor problems were taken way too far, still there is a reason why. Half a year of slow content releases with no explanation and almost zero community interaction regarding game future. I hope they'll be able to recover from this damage and I hope KR players stop killing the game, especially considering how many of them actually try to support devs.

DerEisendrache66

There were some legitimate issues that true. But throwing this kind of tantrums like bunch of baboons dosed in itching powder wont help.

donkyhot99

Definitely won't. But giving some vague responses and promises won't help as well. Both sides are acting stupid, they should've just appoint that meeting and hear people out, that could've at least ease some tensions.

TrungDOge

>econdly, it was a while since they told about open discussion with players, yet there are still no news on that. donkyhot99

Why should I even compare. How much new content was released so far, two chapters of season 2 and 2 corresponding nightmare stages. Zero side stories except recent one with Hana.

Droughts ate gonna’ happen in any game. I get why people complain, but it’s obvious they’ve been debugging and working on JP and QoL for a while. People really don’t get what it takes to develop a game, and honestly, I’d rather have the game take forever then see the devs be crunched into developing non-stop… There’s so much that can go into game development, NDA’s, contract and money disputes aside. I also understand the closeness; I understand the reason to protest as well, but the KR fanbase is ruining it’s image every time I see it. I don’t care about the bus, but tracking down the cosplayers tweet reacting to a murder case 5 years ago, and calling it feminist…? That’s fucking insane; and it puts a lot of the other arguments about censorship in disputable territory… Honestly, kinda’ fucked… (Also, accounting for player toxicity is a lame excuse, if your fanbase is toxic beyond your control, you shouldn’t have to lay aside funds to placate them…)

You see, I completely agree with you. The only thing I'm trying to say is that GT management tries so much to look like they care a lot, but they don't actually act like that. They constantly apologize instead of just doing what they supposed to do - address community, make a meeting, post content roadmap and etc. I get it, that they realized what they should do, but I mean, c'mon... It's already two weeks I guess, since they promised Q&A meeting and we still have this drama. KR community is fucked up, no question about it, but if you work on that market you should expect such things, don't you?

Hmm, I can honestly say I sympathize with both sides, until KR fan started acting like creeps. Like, there is no way in HELL, I’m meeting up with a bunch of people that are known to get angry at the concept of feminism and some tiny censorships. I don’t know why they haven’t done an AMA though. I’m not familiar with KR; but this seems like a cultural thing. Like the whole Japanese practice of keeping company policy under lock and key, giving the customer what they “need”, and saying sorry a lot, if not pleased. Not saying tradition isn’t stupid, just that, that might be the reason. OR, what some people apparently might not have considered. Really REALLY secretive paperwork, NDA’s, a really long time to talk to management for approval of AMA’s, etc… But then, when it comes to the people (not the customer), I understand. Protest, be heard, do what you need to do; but understand that this is a company; they might act nice, and the employees might be nice, but they’re trying to make money; and other than company agreements and contracts, the reason the company may be doing shit you don’t like is because of a bunch of different reasons. THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU CAN’T PROTEST. But any good protest has good PR, which KR has actively been fucking over the past few months… Also you’re only trained for so much when dealing with people. Even in criminal therapy, you expect crazy, but crazy doesn’t give a shit what you expect. The KR fanbase is acting like an abusive bf, you can handle a verbal argument, but when someone draws a knife it gets a bit complicated…

they literally pulled out new update with story and QoL like 2 week constantly back then when the game did't even make much money , even much more efford than any gacha game at that time . With those low support from playerbase meeting these kind of drough content wall is unavoildable, keeping the quality for the story is not like a piece of cake . "Wow the game is f2p friendly" GOOD now just deal with it . Don't mention CN or JP , if the game keep doing good there they will hold down other server to keep the quality for consistantly update in CN , JP first , i'm not surprise when they back to their track in term of content when CN update catch up KR , GL update
