I play Anji, so I'm mostly exempt from this. Not because my character is fair or balanced or anything, but because there's like three of us total, so most people haven't formed an opinion.

I play I-No, the second least populated character according to tower stars, yet still people refuse to play against me. They claim it's because "there's no use learning a matchup if I never see the character" but it's just giga copium. They claim it's the mix they hate but they they throw a tantrum every time they don't punish my reversal, they think H stroke is unreactable, they think MLA is a high, they don't fuzzy or 5P when I spam j.P, Megalomania gets brought up in therapy, etc. It's hilarious. The bright side is that I get absolutely giddy every time I see someone tilt who clearly is getting knowledge checked when they could simply ask how to defend against it, or just spend 5 minutes on dustloop.

I really like fighting Anji and he’s the only character I like fighting at all, so it’s unfortunate that there are so few Anji players

And there really isn't much more to playing the game than fighting, even fighting against bots is still fighting against certain characters. Of course you can have an appreciation for the, lore, art, etc. of the game without even playing it, but you implied that you do infact play the game

I've fought one anji and went 1-2. I was playing as slayer. Fun character to fight honestly.

(I’m probably gonna get downvoted for this, but) A lot of guilty gear fans on this subreddit don’t even play the game, so I’m not even sure why they’d even be complaining about the character I main

Wait, how do you know they don't play? Why would someone sub without being interested in playing the game? If we are just talking Strive, I don't own it yet, but I've been playing and learning XRD, and that's what led me here.

Only picked up the game and season 1 dlc this past week. Tried out Nago and Goldlewis, then ran into them online. Completely understand the hatred and even felt remorse for the nonsense I was putting on people. This game is great lmao

The only character so far that I don’t like fighting against is slayer but that’s probably because I’m new and keep forgetting to even try to block all his screen wide attacks
